  • selling a Lincoln continental Mark V 1978 interested in it call me 480 313 3915 Cory Robinson.

  • Lmao it doesn't have vacuum Boost XD

  • The one that can't afford the gas bill ?!? Lol

  • I would've bought that car in a heartbeat!!

  • Mine had a WHITE interior with black carpet..the seats were so dirty that they were stained..so my buddy and I cleaned them as best we could and stained the entire interior khaki...it came out great! I had to sell it a year later due to room and lack of funds to fix it up.

  • You are nuts, $4,000 and you passed on this thing????

That rust would be nothing to fix! 10 years from now that car would be worth 3x as much.

  • @sleeksilver Most of the cars I buy are in the $200-600 range so this was out of budget for me.

  • @sleeksilver lol so the car will be worth like 1000$

  • @sleeksilver whats so sweet about it in your opinion ? its a led sled!!

  • 6336 gvwr means the car is about 5100 lbs.. sub 1200 for passengers, lugage and a full tank. ford came up with hydra boost cause the pollution gear and other goodies ate up vacum. need to be a science wiz to detail a vacum diagram! FYI, 77/79 mk V were about 400 lbs lighter than 72/76 mk IV, then another 700 lbs less for downsized mk VI and VII.

  • Certainly one of the last American "land yachts"....today it´s only suitable for weekend pleasure rides.

  • i reackon who ever bought that also brought themselves a full lenght fur coat ;-)

  • Wow only 4 thousand? That is a bargin for the shape it's in. those cars are going to be worth a lot of money in 20 years.

  • No there not, because the gas is too expensive, and not that many people want them.

  • So that doesn't stop people from wanting 57 chevy's.

  • my dad jus got one its a pimp mobile!!!!

  • only 4000$??!!! wow.. here in my country for that ican not buy an european crap with 30yrs old.. this is the car of my dreams. . i have right now a project ..an mercury cougar xr7 the same year as yours .. it looks like the same body as the lincoln.. but the lincoln is much better! is much luxury design , good luck!!

  • weighs over 6000 lbs... hell i'd own one! got to test drive one too. a 79 givenchy edition. was going for around 3200. could have been a little cheaper with the way the interior was. of course it had the 400 ci engine. california couldnt get the 460.

  • 6000lbs is wrong. They weigh around 4600. My '78 Continental weighs 4660. The 1975 and 1976 Lincolns were around 5200lbs and those were the heaviest.

  • really? then that means my 84 continental is pretty heavy. the GVW is 4850. pretty heavy for a midsize sedan

  • The door tag for GVWR is the total allowable weight in the car. That doesn't mean it weighs 4850. I would be surpried if an '84 weighs over 3900 or 4000.

  • That's sounds a little light? I thought the 74-76 Mark IV was a around 5300 lb, with the 77-78 Mark V at just under 5000 lb. The 79 was a little bit lighter when they eliminated the 460, and kept only the 400. Town Cars were always heavier compared to the Mark's of the same years.

  • All Lincolns were downsized in weight in 1977, although the dimensions did not change much. The factory weight of a 74-76 Lincoln are all roughly the same at about 5100 or 5200lbs depending on model. The 1977-1979 all weighed in the neigborhood of 4600-4800lbs depending on model, less of course the Versailles. The 460 engine weighs about 700lbs I believe, not sure what the 400 weighs.

  • I own a 69 Lincoln and I get 26 gallons to the mile.

  • speak english for gods sake

  • Hey man, did you buy the car?

  • Also always check the trunk on these old cars. They're so big there might be a body or two back there.

  • Hey Chad- How many miles are on the car? You should have a mechanic check it out first before you even consider buying it. Half of these 30 year old cars leak antifreeze, and need thousands of dollars in work.

  • My uncle worked for Ford, and he had one of these.

  • It Is A Little Over-Priced.$2000-$3000 Is More Realistic For That.

  • That 8-track player would be fantastic to listen to if your had some quadraphonic tapes... surround sound in the car!

  • it works well with regular 8-tracks... my car has the quadrasonic 8-track (78 continental)..and it seperates the sounds between the speakers...really quite good

on my regular player...doesnt do that

  • I dont see much difference in mine ... i have a ford quad tape and it seems the same as the others

  • Chad, just for reference, the last carbureted US passenger car was the 1990 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser with a 307 Olds w/quadrajet.

The 5th Avenue lasted through '89 so it missed tying the record by one year.

  • I would so love one of those!!, but there are a few problems

I live in england and there are like 4 of these nationwide, they do 12 Mpg, they dont fit places over here, i havent got any money.

Otherwise fine :D love the lincoln mark V's

  • Hey Chad- I love the unusual dash layout. The air conditioner controls are where they should be, so the passenger can't reach over and change it! That's a strange place for the wiper switch. Thanks for posting, that's a beauty!

  • I hope you can get the price lower, otherwise it might get mutilated with dubs, purple paint and a 5000 Watt stereo system.

  • Amen. I get so sick of seeing so many cars ruined with all of that crap you mentioned. I call it some un-politically correct things.

  • wow, that car probably uses as much gas as my 87 dodge diplomat. with gas approaching $4 a gallon maybe they'll lower the price for you.

  • I would sometime like to get a Diplomat or 5thAve too but have not seen one for sale recently. 318 v8, 2 barrel carburetor, I think these were among the last of the carbureted cars made.

  • Um your dodge diplomat probably about 8 mpg more than at least this thing was listed at 10 to 12 mpg and thats highway.

  • @chrisw71 -This car spents a lot more gas than a 87 Diplomat,we're talking 7-10 MPG...

  • wow that car is huge

  • if it's as big as my '74 LTD [see my channel], it should be 20 feet long, and 7 feet wide. That's 4,500 Lb of smooth-riding luxury.

  • makes my omni look like a little go kart

  • I think the Lincoln Mark series were slightly shorter than than the 4 door Continental or LTD/Marquis, this car does not seem to have as much room in the back seat area.

  • Whoa that's awesome.

LOL and I like the idiot lights. My car has those, and they're totally useless to me, and I wish i had guages. i know there's something wrong LOOONG before a warning light comes on. But it does sorta give the interiour a classy, clean look. Especially with all the square guages, like the clock, and the speedometre and everything.

but ya, that is one classy car.

  • I'll have to try and get a video of the 1970 Lincoln that actually has the gauges. Its at a used car lot and I've been wanting to buy it for a long time but they wanted $1000 for it which was kind of out of my budget. It will need a complete restoration job so I haven't gotten it yet as I wanted to get some of my other vehicles repaired first.

It has a 460 engine too, and oil, ammeter, temperature and fuel gauges. The speedometer is a long rotary drum that I think changes color.

  • Wow that is too freaky! Im currently looking into buying the exact model in goldenrod!!!! Mines in Stow Ohio though. Its funny how we bost have a good taste in cars!!! I wish mine had a quad tape player :-(
