Best reciever in the NFL? I respectfully disagree with that, I personally think Andre Johnson of the Houston Texans is the best WR in the league. Best player that ever played on the panthers, well thats hard. I would say Smith but then you also have julius peppers Defensive End. Also there safety is one of the best in the league(the name escapes me.) But also we had a hall of famer on our team 2 seasons back by the name of Keyshawn Johnson. So whatever you want.

Firstly Jake Had 8 Td to 2 Pics in the first 3 games if he doesnt get hurt he throws for 30 or more tds because he is an underated QB. the other 3 qbs didnt even match what he had. so quit saying jake sucks he has a 100 td passes in his career so that doesnt make him suck.

steve needs a quaterback that will get him the ball and we need another playmaking reciever like a marvin harrison and a reggie wayne double threat i hate to be honest but jake delhomme absolutely sux major dick we need a dynamic quarterback not just a deep ball qb. i'd say any qb in the draft will be a good choice we need more out of our o-line because deshaun foster and deangelo williams can get the job done

Smith isnt the fastest man in the NFL, everyone knows that, but at the Pro Bowl in 2006, the debate came up to the DBs, who they feared the most, it was overwhelming Smith. Champ Baily talked about Smith's explosiveness. If u watch Panther games Delhomme throws a beautiful deep ball, probably better than any of his short stuff, but EVERYTIME he throws the deep ball to 89, Smith has to almost STOP and wait for the ball, You cant overthrow the guy hardly ever.

how can u say that chad johnson is better than steve smith, you're saying that chad is better, but as you said he has 2 other great receivers on his team, so the defense can't double him all the time, they are worried about tj and henry, but steve is almost doubled or tripled covered every play because we have no other receivers to help him out. the other defense knows that we have no other threats besides him, and steve is still getting it done.

here the truth is steve smith is the only weapon the panthers have and they have no qb to get him the ball, but yet he still makes plays and makes db look stupid. he can do anything chad johnson can and do it better. also chad johnson isnt that great. he is good, but not great. he has a team loaded with offense and has a great qb to get him the ball.

Excuses, Excuses. Chad Johnson has two other great Recievers on his team, and is doubled every play, but he still gets it done year in and out. He has better stats in his carrer, and he will probably be a hall of famer, steve will not be.

if you want to talk about good receivers, why not T.O, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, or Cris Carter? All of whom are better then Chad Johnson, Chad might not even be the best on the team. Gotta agree that for his size though Smith is an awesome reciever.

He gets hurt all the time, he'll miss 4 games almost every season. he was shut down like 6 times this year didn't even get 1000 yards, Kellen Winslow got more then him. Chad Johnson didn't have a running game this year, and how does having a pro bowl wide reciever help your stats. Chad Johnson gets doubled more, is in a harder division, and puts up better numbers every year.

Randy Moss is a H.O.F., but Steve Smith is a GOD among men. Best run after the catch man in the history of the league. Randy's just a deep threat, he might break one once in a while, but he doesn't strike fear in the hearts of CB's like Steve does.

LOL No way. Rany Moss has really become a team player since he has come to the Patriots. You Carolina fans need to chill out. Steve Smith is honestly my favorite receiver in the league, but there are at least five receivers in the league that are better than him.
Moss had 1300 yards and 17 TDs as a rookie while Smith was just a returnman during his rookie season....anyone will tell you that Moss is better.

Thats why he is my favorite, I just have to see a few more seasons where he stands out before I say he is better than Moss. He does everything while Moss is mainly a deep ball guy like Chad Johnson, but its hard to go against a guy who does what Randy has done in his rookie season. He made some pretty incredible catches during that season.

He has to do something like lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, or receiving TDs in order to truly stand out. He did that a few years ago, but he needs to do it a few more times.
