i dont mean to keep bothering you in your vids lol, i programmed my fob using your video about 4 months ago and it works great. but i have a question about the alarm. Is the alarm supposed to sound when opening the trunk also? or is are alarms only for the 4 doors being opened?

@1991darkmage I never tried the trunk.I would think if the light goes on in the trunk the alarm would go off.

@richpin06a well dang lol, my light doesn't work and im not sure why, i followed your video about troubleshooting it and couldn't troubleshoot why it wouldn't turn on, it had ground/electric and the copper connector is as clean as it gets, and the light has been replaced

@richpin064 mine didnt work for some reason lol. i attemped this and the remote didnt work at all anymore, then i read the book tht came with my saturn and they told me how to reboot it back to how it was before. U kno where i went wrong? the weird sound tht i heard on ur video when u turned the keys i didnt hear.

I live in McAllen, TX.... do you know that here they charge you $110.00 Dlls. to reprogram you RKE ??  but I guess nobody goes to do this reprograming there at the Dealer's.

How do you program a whole new remote to a 1999 SL2? I lost my only remote and bought a new one online, but i cannot figure out how to program it to the car.

@mgza2007 Find the Diag connector to the left of the column attached to the dash below the steering wheel. (The thing a scan tool plugs into)

You will see two rows of little sockets or pins. Counting from left to right, TOP ROW, Jumper pins 4 and 8 (a paper clip bent into a "U" works well for this) .

The door locks should cycle and trunk pop open.

Depress lock and unlock button AT THE SAME TIME on the remote you want to program until locks cycle again. (This can take up to 1 minute)

@richpin06a When i jumper the two pins the horn beeps quick 4 times, but the locks don't cycle and the trunk doesn't pop. I'm not sure what to do next.

2007 impala; keyless remote will not work from an outside remote position but once the door is opened with the key, the remote opens and closes the doors and even starts the engine. Is this the same programing to restore the keyless entry function or a different procedure ??

Here we go again; another problem out of a clear blue sky that require$ a trip to the dealer. It just surprises me because there is a button on the dash that says program the remote keyless entry and holding down both lock and unlock buttons gets a 2 beep response, but exterior entry still doesn't work but once the key is used manually, all functions work.

Hi I have a 1996 bonneville SSEI. I don't have a number 8 pin on my OBD2 port so does that mean that I have to go to the dealer to my new remote programed?. my friend just gave me another key fob so I would just like to have a spare. It said on another web sight to do the sam thing as on this car as fare as getting another key fob to work.

I had no idea remotes were so easy to reprogram until I saw this vid. I was able to reprogram a RKE fob from a 97 SC2 to my 97 SL2. Initially I could not get the remote to reprogram to work on my car (SL2). Finally I popped the remote open to temporarily disconnect its battery and then tried again- this seemed to do the trick for my case. There is text inside the remote case which reads "depress lock and unlock buttons for 7 seconds to reset"... confirming richpin's reply.

I have a 96 saturn and you said this might work, I want to turn off the horn chirp with one push of the lock button, so the doors just lock. Can I do this do you know how?

Mode #1 will lock the doors without chirping the horn.Cycling the key once will put the RKE in mode #1.

This does not work on my 96. I could not get it to go into any modes. If I hold the buttons the horn doesn't chirp but the door locks cycle...

That's really cool, I have a 95 with the problem that my remote only works properly sometimes, it will work fine locking and unlocking doors for a while then randomly only trip the alarm and shut it off, I dont know how to fix it tho :(
