The headset does not have the capability of putting your voice through the speakers of your headset. Many wireless headsets including bluetooth headsets do not have the capability of putting the voice through the headset speakers. I know this can be frustrating, especially since the headset has noise canceling technology and it's hard to hear yourself.

Good review. I agree with you 100% on hearing your own voice. I play BF3 and the sound is great, but when a tank is blowing up in your ear an I'm trying to talk to my squad I'm yelling at them. I emailed Sony on the issue and this is what they said

I agree with everything in this video cregan. I would only add one more complaint. The mic is very sensitive! I mean you could probably hear people talking in the room next to where I play which really isn't good for people on the receiving end of the game. Other than that this headset is amazing. It's also what many people have been saying. A great starter headset.

Got mine today. Won't have my ps3 till Christmas. But I bought these to use on my gaming PC as well. Doesn't take advantage of full 7.1 on the PC but I can say the microphone is truly the best one I have ever owned better than some stand alone mics as well. I've already been wearing these for a few hours and haven't noticed any discomfort at all.

The blue led in the mic is only really noticeable if you look towards it's position. You can barely notice it when looking at a screen. Worth it imo.

I've never witness a 7.1 anything before (i'm aware its virtual). Although i do go to theaters alot where the sound is excellent but the best thing that i have at home is a stereo headset that came with my iPhone 4s and even though sounds impressive at times. Hence, just imagine what this baby is gonna sound like in Battlefield 3. I get these in 2 weeks and i can't wait!!! :-)

@ThirtyOhSix Its way better and cheaper. It louder and kicks bass way louder. I have this, PX5, and the Tactic 3d Omega. There is a reason the sony got rave reviews.

The only drawback is it dont work for 360 (PS3/PC) and the battery life is a little short. All three are great. PX5 is feature pack but the sound is a little weak compare to the Tactic and Sony. I like the PX5 but the Sony kicks bass so hard its worth every penny. :)

@ThirtyOhSix You hear it but probably not as good as the PX5. PX5 has a mode made for that. Honestly after a while. You dont care about that crap. Its just people's review to hype the product. You're not going to spend all day listening to footsteps. lol I have all 3 headset like I said. I use and like each of them.

If you are going for the PX5. You are paying mostly for the features. Dont get me wrong its qualtiy product. Tactic is great esp for PC. Sony is probably best bang for the buck.

I've used turtle beach, astro,ect... These are the best hands down.the virtual surround let's you pinpoint where sound is coming from so this makes it virtually impossible to be sneaked up on.The Mic should stay tucked in anyway because it catches and delivers your voice so clear to other people.(but not loud just clear my friend told me I even sounded different).the sound is epic,bullshit games that I have our now worth playing(socom 4)
