Patti is the most beautiful person, perfect artist, and I agree with everyone's posts. I was recently lucky enough to see her at the Museum of Modern Art as a guest speaker , and the band also played.( No Lenny ) In my lifetime, I have seen Bob Marley at the Apollo Theater, The Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden, U2, Eric Clapton The Cream at the Ritz....but Patti's shows ALWAYS take my breath away. The BEST Patti show was CBGB's 1979- thank you for loving her!

Patti is beautiful in many, many ways. She is definitely not the definition of a classic beauty in the literal sense but if you listen to her music, read her works and realize the kind of person she is, you couldn't help but find her beautiful. Her book "Just Kids" is absolutely wonderful.

With all the lies we've been fed like psychical twinkies since leaving the womb, it's a gross understatement to say it's a challange. Fuck. It's almost impossible. Each person's journey is unique, and I salute them all. I salute Patti Smith. She is an inspiration.

I remember sitting in study hall with Patti and she would draw cartoons for people. She was always kind and talented but I didn't know she could sing. At that time I don't think she knew she could sing. She had long straight black hair with very pale skin and she was very thin. Patti was always kind and talented and that made her different from those other girls who were so enamored with themselves. Now that I am retired and I can sit here and watch her it makes me feel good. God Bless Patti.

Patti Smith is something of a cultural tradition for myself and others like me. I myself discovered her at a time in my life that was very hard to define and getting increasingly harder as each moment passed. I had already begun to see through the charade events of my past and of those around me. I had begun to feel lost and alone, but as time went on I began to see some of what had been hidden in society and I found that there were others on a journey similar to mine. TY Patti!

She's almost 64, she's completely against plastic surgery,and has passion through music and activism. She did very few drugs in the 70's and had two kids and lost more people in her life then is ever fair. All things considered, she looks great!

The woman is fantastic! I saw her at the peace and love festival in Sweden recently and she was so incredibly good. Absolutely the best performance I have ever seen. She has so much integrity and talent that it's crazy.

I don't know why people are ripping on the interviewer. Yes, she is young, but she knew she was talking to someone great. She seemed a little nervous and I believe she felt a bit small in her presence (who wouldn't?) but she listened to what Patti was saying, said kind things to her, held her own, and seemed genuinely happy to have interviewed her. She didn't seem put on. What more should she have done, kissed her feet? Lol. I don't think Patti would have allowed that.

Patti! Such talent. She looks exactly the way a genuine artist of her age and depth, should look. She looks this way because she is brave enough to ignore the pressure that compels women to appear to be more childish and less complicated, than they are. Women are even now, complemented on a youthful appearance first and foremost, as if it were a virtue, with rest of their gifts receiving a token notice, or ignored outright. She's very kind to this young woman.. Perhaps because she's a mother.

Horses.hit... i'm a latecomer to Patti's music (late 90s) so i started with her new stuff. nothing like the old sloppy punky stuff she did, the old was great and groundbreaking but her music is so much tighter now, both denser and lighter and more meaningful.. her last albums have just been getting better and better.. her black album and Peace and Noise to Trampin', i'm a real fan of her new music, and of her core band.. i am sooo looking forward to her next album! and she playin tonight!
