I was lucky enough to see Michael Masley playing as I stolled the streets of San Francisco. I bought the album he had on sale at the time. His unique 'bowed' way of playing the santour (hammered dulcimer) produces one of the most etherial sounds you'll ever hear. This video is great but still doesn't accurately capture the tones that seem to drift mystically from the heavens. MashaAllah!
I was lucky enough to stumble upon Michael playing near the Cannery. No recording can match the magic of his live sound. Heavenly.

I'd say better than 3 stars! Some times people have a hard time appreciating something beautifully unusual, magnificent!!!!!

Gorgeous music! He also plays outside the Berkeley Downstown BART. He is also known as the US Artist General, and a film is being made about him.
