Damn, reading about the crowd in different areas... that sucks that people would spend 20-30 dollars just to watch one band. The LA crowd was pretty awesome. There were some that came just for Belphegor. There were also some that just came for Alestorm. However, most were there for either Eluveitie or just to watch the entire concert. I enjoyed every band. Statius even had a mosh pit bear which showed up during Alestorm's Leviathon. Alestorm modified the lyrics for the bear. It was hilarious.
Oh yeah, since I am commenting on a Vreid song I guess I should say something about them. When I first saw them come up on stage I was amazed. They have such a powerful, ominous stage presence that supercede the other bands (even Belphegor). They were probably the most memorable, apart from Eluveitie. On top of that, WWII themed metal is pretty freakin' bad ass. Heathenfest instantly made me a Vreid fan.
Yeah, the ticket price was a bit high, but understandably so. I had to bike there from where I lived, close to the Western Red Line station. That area around the venue looks pretty shady to bike through at 3am.
