History: The U. S. Constitution requires that, "...Only Congress Can Declare War". For exactly that reason, the "war" was not legal. The same is true for both Iraq and Afganstan. You can not have a "legal" system under the above circuimstance.

Please get your facts straight, the vietman war went on for 25 years kid, 1950 is when we started sending out troops as an advisory position, fearing that communism would spread further then already communist China and Russia. Our full scale involvement did not happen until 1965 with LBJ's Gulf of tonkin resolution. Nixion took the presidency in 1969 and we were on out way out by 1975. Oh and we didn't stop north vietman from conquering the south.

Jimi Hendrix was hardly a proud veteran. He was such a bad soldier he was discharged after only 1 year. I think the young ComedymanPC did a decent and accurate job who researched and got his facts right.

FYI kid the video starting at 2:28 is of the battle to liberate the city of Hue.The North Vietnamese forces rapidly occupied most of the city. Over the next month they were gradually driven out during intense house-to-house fighting led by the Marines. In the end, although the Allies declared a military victory, the city of Hue was virtually destroyed and more than 5000 civilians were killed, most of them executed by the PAVN and Viet Cong.

He loved America and didn't have any issues with the war in Vietnam. When he played Star Spangled Banner, he played it out of love of country. Not as a protest. For these reasons, his commanding officers submitted a request that Hendrix be discharged from the military after he had served only one year. He hated the army and was glad to get out early.
