The Super Snake package is more than looks, It comes with Whipple or Kenne bell supercharger, Borla exhaust, brake upgrade, 3.73, 20' wheels, rear gear and suspension upgrade. That's just to name a few. I looked it up on Shelby America site.

You can't compare two cars run on two different tracks on two different days. And the gt500 is capable of running 12.1 if you get traction. My 2011 gt will run mid 12's on a good day. The gt500 also weighs 3800+ and I'm sure that dodge is underpaying the power in the 392.

Interesting comment. The 4,175 lb 392 Hemi runs the quarter in 12.4 seconds with 470 horsepower. (see "392Drags" on YOUTUBE). How is this so? LoL. Shelby is lying about the horsepower and power to rate-ratio. How is it that a 3600 lb car with "550" horsepower can only run 12.4?

@tubevideoguy762 It could go much faster, but wouldn't be stable. GT500 has a lot of front end lift due to the underside of the car not being aerodynamic. Look underneath a Dodge Viper or a Z06 Corvette. The undersides are sealed off to prevent air from coming underneath the car and creating lift at high speed. Much of a cars downforce is from underneath the car such as from the rear diffuser like on a Viper not just from the front/rear spoilers. The GT500 is an awesome car for the $.

I bought one Brand New, and the transmission grinds going into 2nd if you get on it. Sometimes when trying to shift at higher RPM's the transmission will completely stop you from going into second until you reclutch and pull it in. I hear the 2012's use the same tranny, tremmec 6060, be very careful when buying one of these!!! You may not be able to beat a Civic through the quarter if you cant shift into second. Motortrend calls it notchy to shift, I call it Bullshit,check out all the threads!!

@fawaz84 depends what model you get, because ford has all these gay color stripe limitations depending on model. But Imho id choose the candy apple red with the white stripe gt500 svt package. This blue isnt bad either but its kinda girly on such a mean ass car. The only thing I hate about the gt500 is the stupid white gt500 stripe along the door! I think they should just make a gt500 badge on the door. But ya candy apple red best color for me lol =)

As much as I will forever love the Shelby GT 500, it only beat the 2010 SS Camaro by .6 seconds in a quarter mile drag, and is ~$16,000 more. Yes it has about another 130 HP but only .6 seconds? You can easily buy a super charger for $5,000 and put it in the SS Camaro and beat this Shelby, while still saving ~$11,000. Sorry but for now the SS Camaro wins. And I know this because I own an SS Camaro.
