No, it ain't Sutherland, much less Pons or Galli-Curci, but it has many lovely qualities. What is unfortunate is that the tessitura does not suit Moffo; it's a little too high for her. The high Es are very uncomfortable, not that most find them easy. lol.

This is one of her best recordings. I love the warm timbre, smooth transitions to the upper ranges. She brings such a haunting quality to this aria.

Yes, great comment, spot on. Her singing is amazing, with warmth, feeling, and wonderful diction. Idiomatic. And she communicates perfectly the sensuous Eastern exoticism that Lakme is all about.
