Holy different music!!! I used to rock this game on the Genesis (megadrive) all the time with my best friend. I liked the Sega's music as well... but the SNES music is a little darker it seems.
It does have the anime-style artwork of a lot of Sega games like Elemental Master (scrolling shooter) and the Lunar series. SNES usually has better music on SNES-Genesis ports. (Worms, Stargate, BOB, SF, MK)
Shame that no VGMID sites have anything for this game.
This game was actually released on the Sega Genesis in America. You can ROM it with GENS or you can buy it for the actual Genesis. I don't believe it hit Super Nintendo in America though.
I bought this game at a yardsale when I was in middleschool and me and my brother loved it! Like an Epic Gauntlet game. The anime art blew me away back then too! I always played as the girl with the morning star, she pwned!

The genesis and snes version are both cut down ports of the X68000 original version. The resolution and colors are reduced compared to the x68000 original.
PS. please upload more parts of this game, please. Oh! If you could manage a few from a sega game called biohazard, that would really make my year. I can still hear the boss music, but it's some faint place in the back of my mind.
Wow, it's like a piece of my childhood I forgot. That game was so dark and adventurous. I never beat it, sadly. Please upload more old sega clips. I don't think it would be an overstatement if I said you could probably have a cult classic following if you created a channel for 90's video game clips (epsecially the obscure).
I really like the SEGA Genesis version of Arcus Odyssey because it sounds much better than the SNES version. On top of all that, this game was also on the show Nick Arcade.
I don't see any difference from this and the genesis version gameplay wise. But I can really tell that the SFC version have a far superior BGM compared to the genesis version which sounds horrid.
Do you know where I can get any prototype carts??

I just compared this version to the JP version, and it seems there are several differences/improvements in the JP version over unreleased US version:
1. Slowdown has been eliminated
2. Intro has re-drawn pink clouds and more detail in general
3. Level start map has more color
4. The sword in the password screen has a pixelization effect
5. If the game loads a different area with the same music, the music doesn't restart itself
6. A few re-drawn/re-colored sprites (notably the chests)

The genesis version has much cooler music than the SNES version of Arcus Spirits. You should have shown us the Genesis version instead.
