well, its faster, but you re not allowed to use it in the streets........ or even buy it you can. anyway fantastic lap. Do somebody have an idea the lap time of a formula 1 in that circuit in the same conditions?

@fjcbassline Nick Heidfeld to a BMW Sauber F1.06 F1 car around the 'Ring' in 2007 but wasn't allowed to race it. It was for demonstration purposes only, using max ride height and hard compound tyres,but he used the GP track as well. His restricted ring time for nordscleife only was (estimated) about 5:58. I'm guessing that was for the 20.832km circuit. BMW F1 engineers have estimated a time of 5:15 for I think the same distance. 2007 V8 2.4lt engined car.

@fjcbassline a formula 1 car has never been round the 'ring in anger since they built the GP circuit in the 70s, and i doubt one ever will. also, you can drive that car on the road :) read the discription

@dado81sb you have to understand the car is not tuned to be fast on the top end. You dont need to go over 170mph on that track you will die. its how fast he cant get to 170mph that counts. the car is tuned to accelerate as fast as it can when it gets out corners. You cant have the best of both worlds so in this case its best more convenient to have acceleration over top speed.

@scavenom2008 6:11 if the record for a race car on slicks. This is the record for a road legal car on road tyres. It was driven from the factory in England to the track to emphasize that.

Nick Heidfield took an F1 car there a while back. Although it was slowing down for filming, was on demonstration tyres and not going balls to the wall it was still as fast as anything that has ever been round the Nordschleife. The engineers said the car was capable of a time of about 5-15 if they went for it.

My guess is: One of the best race-cars ever + one of the greatest drivers of all time (perhaps *the* greatest driver) = an unbeatable lap-record. Also: While the Radical is indeed a fast car, it isn't all that powerful, hence it lacks high-speed performance. My guess is that Bellof's 956 (640 PS@820kg=1,3kg/PS) would've left the Radical in the dust on the high-speed-sections of the track (Döttinger Höhe, Flugplatz/Schwedenkreuz, Fuchsröhre). And there's also the question of tyres ..

@kostar500 These ground-effect-cars produced more pressure on the wheels than the car weight, so they would theoretical also drive on the ceiling like a spider. It's like rolling on tracks around the bend by highspeed. Not very comfortable, more like sitting in a centrifuge.

Yes I do realize that they drive to the Ring with the SR8 . That is not the problem. The problem is, that you dont get this Car legalized at the moment in Germany for Streetuse. I even asked the Germany Distributor about this Problem and i get the answer that at the moment there is no chance to bring it on the road in Germany. They work on it but it will take till Summer or Autum. At the moment there is no way to legalize it for the normal German Roads!

it's quite ridiculous, here in Italy the omologation rules are quite restrictive (for example tuning is almost illegal becuse you need the car maker's authorization for mechanichally tune you car) but I know there is a street legal radical in Milan (it should be an SR3)

Great drive, but I am sorry to say so. Is these Car streetlegal in Germany, with the Okay from the German TÜV. I dont think so. You are lucky in the UK. I have seen OfficeDesks with Engines that are Streetlegal in the UK! But here in Germany you have a little bit different regulations then in the UK. The fastest LapTime with a , in Germany legal Car is the 7.11 with the Gumpert Apollo! I am sorry but thats simply the truth!

Last Gear was very short-TopSpeed was reached after 25% Doettinger Höhe. I`ve further read about the G`s in the Corners. Near every corner was over 2G-up to 2,3G. For Comparison-fast Nordschleife SupersportsCars like the Carrera GT+GT3, Nissan GTR and all the Exotic Beauties like Pagani reached a maximum of 1,4G

Absolutely breathtaking saves, this is not a car to 'play' with on the bends like that.

Flugplatz could be flat though (and that carries speed all the way to SX, so could be more than a second gained there) and Galgenkopf was a mess too (last key corner to a lap time, could be 2 seconds on that one alone as you carry the speed all the way down DH).

Full respect Mr Vergers! That was a 100% lap.
