  • Clifton ave and Main st is 10x worse by the post office. After the light changes red, 2 or 3 cars run the light and also go straight from turn lanes. Lakewood is Lakewood and will always be Lakewood. I get mad at the jaywalking up Clifton ave, people just jump out and really don't care whats coming.

  • Thats a stupid law...You ran a red light!!.....a red light is a red light and it means the same in all states..red mean stop..you were pulled up pass the turn line and had no choice but to turn b/c you were stuck in the middle of the intersection...your supposed to wait behind the line and go when its safe ( when the light is GREEN ) duh

  • slapurmommaz, the reason he turned as the light turned red is because in jersey this is the only time you can make a left turn. when its green and you try to turn, the people coming towards u will viciously stomp the gas so you cant turn, and then you sit there waiting all day until the light turns red, at which point the cars coming towards u finally stop and then u can turn. its just like how you go to change lanes and the guy who is in that lane, but 30 ft behind guns it, so u cant

  • I guess my question would be, why did you turn on a red light ? And don't tell me the light wasn't red. And also don't tell me you were in the middle of the intersection when you were not.

  • @slapurmommaz Look up "James St." & "Rt. 9" on Bing Maps you will see how far back the turning lane is. You can't assume oncoming cars will stop at red or slow down at yellow. When you can clearly see the other driver slowing down to a halt & it's safe to proceed, then you may turn. Yellow indicates that one should either slow down or have the ability to pass through when it isn't safe to stop, or when there's no room to stop at the light in time, and when obstructing the intersection.

  • @hobblitt20 Also if I may add. You entered on a legal green, ALL other traffic has to by law yield to you once you are in the intersection regardless of light color at the point.

And no you can't assume because i almost died from a bus that decided to gun the orange at the last second. So you were not at fault here.

  • Exactfingly! Bad drivers are in fact accusing others of being stupid then justifying aggressive driving. For once I'd like to see someone aggressively stay out of an accident. Then again that's like saying I'd like to see the police actually find someone with a real emergency then stop accusing them of being rude and even escort them safely.

  • i think this driver stopped because he saw the van coming out of nowhere from behind him and knew if he didnt stop, he would get rammed from behind, typical lakewood driving.

  • thats what you get for stopping after makin a left on to james off RT 9! i woulda done the same thing....

  • Good for you. But if a car was about to smash into me, I would have stopped as well!

  • The only way to prevent that, is to never move towards the light until you are able to turn. If you are in the middle of the intersection, it allows the driver from behind pull that off. If a pig saw that, you could have gotten a ticket for running that red light!

  • Just so typical Lakewood/Bricktown; that same thing has happened to me on Cedarbridge before...

  • This is the third wreck or so you videotaped. Do you have a Wreck magnet or something. It should be easy for me to get a driver's licence from the NJ Transportation Cabinet.

  • maybe he was in a hurry
