  • David Bowie & Cheer duet = awesomeness

  • OMG! i love this!!!! thnx for posting!

  • Cher and Bowie really needed to make a duet album! Great pair!

  • It really should be Bowie ft Cher considering it's his song...

  • hello, 911? i've just raped replay button

  • ha ha..ok, how would you like to be flirted with like this by David Bowie right on national TV? Cher sure is loving it....love how she scoops her arm around him...would be doing the same thing. (btw..that cute little flip of hair on the back of his neck just drives me crazy..:))

  • omg. who was the hairstylist of chair?

  • not many people know that they had a child....and it grew up to be Lady Gaga.....true story.

    thumbs up.

  • great!

  • yeah, how would you like to be "sexed up" by Bowie on national TV? He's obviously flirting, sexy and funny, and Cher's giggling and blushing like a schoolgirl!! (unfortunately, that's just about how I'd react).....his profile is amazing...and the way his hair has just a bit of curl at the nape of his neck drives me CRAZY!!!

  • Was there something between them? chemistry...?

  • this song is so awesome. i mean the first time i heard it make me cry but nowi i hear it and make me feel so happy. david u are more than a legend, u are a music god

  • i think its pretty good to be honest

  • i dont know why but when i see david in this time im just cant stop thinking that allways when he got triumps on music he got tragedy in his life. trully sad. i wish david be ok at least for now on

  • bowie's such a good sport, a real gentleman, the wig is very bad, the medley they do on this show is priceless

    Happy 63rd David!

  • Bowie was the coolest white dude ever back then

  • @Kemster79 he still is.

  • cher makes it look so easy

  • Cher & Bowie should have had children who grew up to be perfectly normal somehow.

  • That was rather nice! Never been much of a Cher fan, or of Bowie's "Young Americans" album really, and (beyond a fondness for dressing outrageously) don't think these to have much in common - but they both do such a good job here meeting each other halfway. Great version of this song!

  • 2 maestros de l amusica

    so amazingggggg

  • I love both of them....I love how they are always dressed so crazy but look so serious and classy doing so...I love how their voices mash up together...

  • Bowie IS a fantastic writer, though I agree he does not have a natural talent for vocals. He's good, but it's not really what he's famous for so much as his writing and creative skills.

Cher is certainly not talentless. She is a fantastic singer, definitely outsinging Bowie (particularly during this period when Bowie was so drugged up it was amazing he could function). But her pitch just isn't right for this song. It's not terrible, but it's not her best.

  • Bunny, This song is the nicest gift you ever gave me...can you hear me?...I want you most of all, Bunny! :-)

  • David Bowie considers this one of his "true Love Songs"

  • This song was written for Lulu and was due to be her follow up single to The Man Who Sold The World but never saw the light of day in that incarnation because of legal reasons. You just have to love Cher whatever she sings.

  • Really? I didn't know that. A planned follow up to MWSTW was a track called Dodo, recorded in demo form with Lulu in 1973. That track has actually just popped up into the box above.... has it not? See,there it is again... Oh, it's gone.... No, back again... have a listen if you haven't before. Well, Can You Hear Me is certainly a better idea for a hit.

  • WOW!! I've heard this but not seen it until now. Great stuff! I think he was "with" Robin Clark at this time but boy does he want a bit of Cher!! I think she was freaked out by his eyes though... Lovely!

  • Did he date Robin Clark? I know he dated Ava Cherry. David was a bit immature at this point

  • Sorry, I got mixed up there! Robin Clark was Carlos Alomar's wife then (maybe still is)

David, immature? Like a kid locked in a candy store, yes.

  • Candy store, exactly!! haha!! I didn't know that Robin was married to Carlos.. Wow.. That's nice. Thanks for that piece of info..!!

  • Yes, I got it from Tony Visconti's biog. 1975section. Very interesting.

  • Actually, around this time David was pretty into Black and Asian women and transvestites, according to Angie (his wife back then). He may have shagged Cher, but she wasn't his "type", really.

  • Cher's pretty sexy!!

  • Awesome song and video. I think Cher was dating Gregg Allman or Rory Emerald during this time.

  • There's been many others so many times

Sixty new cities, an' what do I, what do I

    What do I find?

I want love so badly, I want you most of all

You know, it's harder to take it from anyone

    It's harder to fall

Can you hear me call ya?

  • clare this is for you . Dom x

  • omg what a song!!!

  • OH!My god, why Bowie does not sing only alone!

Is there a similar video with only Bowie ?

Thank you very, very much for this video which

    I had never seen !!!!!!

  • thanks youtube i have waited 30 years to see this footage it is one of bowies greatest ever tracks

  • wow how nostalgic

  • what a beauty bowie was

  • Cher - Rory Emerald - David Bowie.

    Excellent Song.

  • One of my favorite Bowie songs. Simply beautiful.

  • This is the best

  • Want the other clip then, also? It's sooooo bad it's beyond camp! It's a horrible medley...

  • wow! thank u soooo much!!! forever cher's fan!
