& after the takeover what happened, the CCP attempted to push through its social reforms which resulted in a rebellion and the countrys elite fleeing into exile with a large number of ordinary Tibetans a steady stream of which have continued to leave Tibet to join the DL over the subsequent years.

Tibet was a de facto independent state when Mao sent the troops in, the Tibetans where robbed of their country by force, yes the Americans did help the Tibetans, China was communist at the time and the US would do anything to help fight its spread.

Tibet is part of China because China occupied it by force.
I've seen posts by Chinese Nationalists showing the Dalai with implements bearing a swastika, these nationalists didn't know the swastika is an ancient Buddhist symbol and said the pictures where proof the DL was a Nazi.
If you seriously think the DL has been influenced by Nazi ideology then I think you need to elaborate.

The DL is so popular & respected because he promotes peace, if the DL could be proved to be organising violent riots let alone leading a "army" against China be would loose most of his support not to mention funding, it is actually the worst thing he could do becasuse then the Tibetans would become just another violent seperatist group, use your head!

The traditional role of the DL is both religious and political, in his current position he is the figure head of the Tibetan movement so of course he has to be a politician so when you accuse him of being a wily politician you are being unfair, he has to be a politician in the role he is in, how can he be otherwise?.

Ive told you before Im not a Tibetan Buddhist but generally I think the DL is a sincere man who has done the best he can to promote the cause of his people and bring it to the worlds attention, it cant be easy being regarded so highly by the Tibetans, it gives him a lot to live up to, it also cant be easy trying to decide on the best course of action caught as he is between a manipulative Washington and an inflexible Beijing.

Lastly Chineseheart lets not forget it was China who invaded Tibet after they had been independent for 50 years and even before that Tibet always had its own government and Tibet was too distant for China to exert much control.
Tibet was brought together under the Yuan who where not a Han dynasty, the Yuan actually adopted the Tibetan form of Buddhism and here hated by the Han who expelled them as soon as they where strong enough.

Chineseheart if you where honest & said that you don't agree with the DL and the exiles because China will never give way and the unrest only causes trouble for the Tibetans inside Tibet and conceded that China has not always behaved well in Tibet then I would have more respect for you.

These outbursts of violence by the Uighers and the Tibetans are the result of tensions caused by these people feeling :
1) Their culture is being eroded by the influx of Han settlers,
2) Resentment that they are being economically and culturally marginalized in their own ancestral land,
3) Treated as second-class citizens and discriminated against by the majority Han Chinese.
