We as a society need to learn reuse our waste water. Las Vegas could treat the effluent waters and discharge them back in the lake to compensate for some loss. A pipe from Alaska thru Canada would be cheaper then a east to west system.
@borderraven It seems that the demand for the water is increasing. In other words, it's not so much about capacity as it is about how much water is going into the lake, water can't go in fast enough to keep up with the water going out. The human population is still growing and the need for water just keeps going up.
@jimbonumber9, Population growth will be reduced as water availability is reduced. But, people will conserve water, but water rates (the price we pay) will increase. Diseases, wars, etc., will reduce population, illegal immigration and stupid laws will overpopulate the region with Mexicans, who will suffer in a Third World desert.
when you settle a desert & move a bunch of suburbanites into it who demand golf courses, water parks, green lawns and casinos with gigantic water fountains what do ya expect ? If people get rid of the lawns, gardens, water parks, golf courses, water fountains & features they'll be fine. If they don't...then it's their problem if it turns in2 a dust bowl. just nature reclaiming from morons. Same thing with florida...people throwing sod lawns down in swamp lands in hurricane & gator territory
ever been down river ? th elake isnt low at all so why do they LET the water go low ? if they stopped th ewater from going down river for one week it would fill up . the water authority is doing this so they can steal water from farmers and native tribes
Hmmm we had a drought for over 10 years! Powell and Mead went down. The past few years Powell has come up greatly! This year, Powell and Mead will come up GREATLY.
it cannot be that bad..matter of fact it has to be planned..because our Gov. floods the desert with water, billions of gallons of water just let out to flood parts of the desert that have not seen water since the flood of Noah..they are doing this..How hard would it be to make a pipeline frome the States being flooded and pump water out west where needed ? they did it with oil,But why not water ? cause they want to depopulate.
stop building in the desert.. what do you expect. keep pacing them in and you will have less water to go round everything has a limit.. and stop building golf courses so old fodies duddies can putt balls into holes..
Large cities in the desert, New Orleans below Sea Level, piping water from the Great Lakes until they dry up to provide a temporary 50 year fix for the growing cities in the SW, now that's what I think is crazy. But you know, water eventually finds its level (pun) and the desert will become desert again and the people will move to where the land and technology at the time can sustain them. It's not the end of the world, only change, which is always the constant throughout history.
Good point and a very good question! I would have to assume that it costs some amount of money to pump the water and to irrigate. Anyway, if the water stops flowing, then money will not help. May God bless!
hey jimbo..where are you getting your info.. that was an inportant piece of info for you in usa if this is right isnt it..what sites do you use for your info..post links if you are able..thanks i have enjoyed many of your videos , Godbless..
Thank-You! With help from the "Holy Spirit" and the Internet. This one was also inspired by something called "Good Magazine", the site had many fact-filled articles. I get my information from many sources, like newspapers and by searching the Internet, sometimes it's a combination of sources. Again, then I pray to "Jesus Christ" and the "Holy Spirit", always! May God be with you.

As it goes dry, the sand, mud, silt and rock can be removed to increase future capacity.

I flew thru Denver recently...the snow pack on the mountains looked huge. That should help hold the line on the water level.

The universal law of supply. Whenever we hold on to any resource - we become impoverished by it.
The river has to flow to its delta once more. As does any resource so that everyone and everything living thing can benefit from it - not just some.
Holding onto this water will guarantee the river dries up. We have to realize that this planet has spiritual laws that actually rule over physical.
The Universal Law of Supply ensures that the generous and giving are enriched.
God is love.

Flooding the desert to grow rice, insane, unless the water is free? Do farmers pay for their water like city dwellers?
