The comparisons are wrong until u switch them around like mos def conscious rapper and lil wayne young and hungrey instead of the other way around like lupe said
omg where have I been wtf this track is bananas I wish lasers was filled wit tracks like this . I feel like I'm falling off, can anybody tell me are there more tracks like this, I between "the cool" release and now
it doesnt take a genius to understand these lyrics! its cause people got their heads stuck so far up mainstream music they cant tell thier left hand from their right!
@TimesNuRoman You're great at this man. I did catch something though. When it says "Mayweather on the speedbag, automatic weapons keep the same rythym he has" he is referencing the sound you hear when u hit a speedbag, which has a similar sound to gun shots.
See the thing about lyricists like Nas and Lupe they are so above the game that general people don't understand what the hell they are talking about. But they talk with a base knowledge. If you don't study African history written by African then you will never know the truth.
@TimesNURoman You have some of the interpretations of his lyrics right but some wrong. Because of that you're Misinterpreting the overall message. Example SLR doesn't Mercedes Bens- SLR but it does mean Super Lupe Raper. But for the context of this song it mean SLR-type of camera lense.(I can see in Clarity).
I like the part when he says, "words in line of mine I feel are better than every rap in the world combined" and then it's like a bomb goes off. My nigga Lupe is a fuckin beast!
@Ronday1994 I don't know about this being the most lyrical bro. Check out Failure ... he goes hard there too. lol ... but either way .. SLR is the shit! Can't wait til the concert on Sept. 30th
Very good video I am truly a fan of them, you describe them very well however this song is riddled with even more tidbits of random connections. One major thing I noticed is he actually says "I ain't doing numbers like Anbesol." Anbesol numbs your teeth, lol. Amazing metaphor.
...2 things great breakdown best one ive seen (despite it not havin visuals) im glad u did this breakdown it takes a genius to understand a genius can u do mean and vicious next cuz I dont fully understand the song = ) thnx
Great analysis as always =) And something to add, when he says "I ain't doing numbers like amazon", it could also be "I ain't doing NUMBers like Anbesol", which is an oral medication that causes numbness to relieve pain. Anyways, please keep up the great work =)
i think it would be good to combine this format with pictures, maybe in general this format (scrolling lyrics in the middle, short explanations popping up on the side) but with pictures also popping up on the side with the explanations when necessary
You my man are great at doing this. Please keep them coming! The only thing i would have to say is that if you fuse the pictures with the meanings, it gives a better visual affect; thus i prefer that way. But, i still enjoyed watching this .... "Word's and lines of mine, i feel are better than every rapper in the world combined!" Yes, yes he does finally admit it. Amen.
..btw, a bit personal, but whats your occupation, an English professor or something? lolll no offense taken if not answered :]
@shortyxlo7 hahaha no, im actually a university student. In high school, I used to print out Lupe song lyrics and try to break them down when I was bored in class. And the old Lupe Fiasco forums helped a lot when I got stuck. So these newer tracks im not too knowledgeable in! So always feel free to correct me/add your own findings in the comments
@TimesNuRoman haha nice, I just graduated high school :] Man, Lu is too good. My English teacher was teaching us how to do critical thinking, & i told him lets study Lupe Fiasco lines in class cause that is major critical thinking lmaooo well anyways good luck in college & keep up the good work. Thank you :)
I like the pictures format better, it helps me a lot trying to pick up all the bits and pieces of info. Since there's a ton of info going super quick.
No matter which format, I will stay subscribed haha.
@TimesNuRoman I think for "Switch" this style was awesome, but I like the pictures too, perhaps some kind of mixture of the two?
I think it's awesome you do these, can I make some requests?: "Streets on Fire" "The Instrumental" "Put You On Game" "American Terrorist" "BMF" "Hurt Me Soul" "Dynasty Freestyle" and "The Cool" would be my wish list (some have been done, but I'd like to see your take on them)
@TimesNuRoman I like the "colorful" ones because as they say. A picture is worth a thousand words. So that in itself helps portray what Lu is saying more then just a sentence IMHO
@TimesNuRoman To answer your question, I personally would prefer the pictures with the vids. As a visual learner. But either way it's cool. I'd like to meet you in person so I could shake your hand and thank you for all of these breakdowns. Before I was a huge fan of Lupe, even when I didn't understand alot of what he was saying because I still knew it was profound. But now that I get what Lu has been saying all this time thanks to you, I am now a fanatic.
@TimesNuRoman do you ever write lyrics of your own? if you can breakdown lyrics like this,i'd like to see what you can do :)

Your channel is great, keep it up.
You have a lyric mistake on this though.
Its not "i aint doin numbers like Amazon"...its "I aint doin numbers like ANBESOL"
Anbesol is a oral numbing agent (a numb-er) for toothaches and such.
