The show was cancelled at first and the viewers complained and they brought it back. They listened. Does not happen that much. The show was a critics hit and is now a classic. Once in a while a show comes along that I like and it is not given enough time to develop a following and it gets cancelled way too soon. A critics choice does not always mean the show will last.
@kjm2672 the last few seasons were broadcast in stereo. Most syndicated US tv shows from 1985 onwards were produced with stereo soundtracks but many were distributed in mono internationally as the TV networks worldwide were still broadcasting in mono. So The Equalizer was filmed in stereo, last season of Knight Rider and The A-Team, Magnum, Miami Vice etc were all in stereo. The DVDs were mastered incorrectly for many though but iTunes tends to be correct i.e. KR season 4.
Still Standing, King of Queens.Ach hätte ich doch eine Zeitmaschine!
Martin Kove has played a boatload of cops and bad guys over the years. And yes youre right this was when you had real composers who knew how to write real music - give me the original H 5-0 theme anytime, Mort Stevens is the MAN! Bill Conti is great on this one. Mike Post a la Rockford, all those filler tunes, great stuff. Ironside theme, Sanford and Son theme - QUINCY JONES rocks, man whatever happened to REAL composers writing REAL songs.
One of the very best, too-often-overlooked, themes in TV history.
