Byrne is really brilliant in this. This "awkward" or "tentative" persona he's doing is perfect for the tone of the interview--and then clarifying that many of the listeners won't have any idea what they are talking about because they are not Phish fans. I like this.

I totally love how consistent they are in their interviews, always humble, always comfortable with their soul mates, their conversations are like their music, complimentary and never knowing where it's going to end up. Love them!!! Good illustration of all their personalities whether 1998 or 2010.

That's funny that fishman told David Byrne about Willis. When I was a teenager I used to hang out in plainfield during the summers and he'd always be sitting on the stone wall in the middle of town with this gigantic walkie talkie with a three foot antenna that I'm pretty sure never worked. The guys a total nut and fucking awesome.

This is awesome to have on U tube now. Don't miss the end of the interview where they make Page fake nod and smile. I laughed my ass off. This interview btw is so much better unedited. The tv version made it look way more tense and proper. This clearly shows how well Byrne and Phish got along. Both music nerds. I love them all
