  • That was rather weak. When Wolski was on Colorado he NEVER did anything cheap. Look at the video, his elbows are in. Forsberg could have take much more abuse without flopping around on the ice. I love Alfredsson but he looked like a little girl here, especially since the culprit was Wolski.

  • and pacioretty gets 3 games for the same hit... shanahan is so inconsistent.. this then tootoo gets 2 games but lucic gets nothing wtf.

  • @2anzzzKing Depends if you've been in the same situation before. Lucic was a little bit weird perhaps.

  • WE NEED A REF. this is absolutey ridiculous how is he not suspended

  • Shanahan's a punk for not suspending Wolski. He makes an example of everyone else but let's this one go?!? I lost alot of respect for Shanahan because of his comments following this hit.

  • no suspension due to alfredsson making a drop pass and not looking forward where he should, therefore putting himself in a vulnerable position. wolski was already committed to the hit before alfredsson turned his head and didnt have the time to pull out of it. not a dirty hit.

  • @roch19pr maybe a few years ago this argument was ok but not today when theyre preaching taking out headshots from the game, just cause the guy's body position is vulnerable it dosent mean you have be dirty and try to give him a concusion. i think shanahan totaly messed up on this one, he's confusing hockey players on whats illegal and whats not.

  • CBC being disgustingly biased again ! thank god the Leafs aren't playing ! CBC's gem !

  • No one can touch anyone anymore, i thought we were playing a contact sport. not everytime someone gets hurt does someone need suspension. Incidental things happen in contact sports not everything needs to be suspended. Everyone just needs to lay off

  • I don't understand why sens fans thought this would be suspended when there was no suspension for neil when he did it to grabovski, it was pretty much the exact same play. or to go even further, when ferrence did it in the playoffs last year and there was no suspension.

  • next time Sens-Rangers play, shits going down, guaranteed.

  • @hckey234 but you won't find out because you stopped watching NHL years ago.

  • @23snacKs lol @ your brain

  • what a fucking joke. this is why i stopped watching NHL years ago

  • has he gotten a suspension yet? havent seen anything on nhl.com yet, would be a joke if he didnt

  • @phreddy87 No suspension was given. Don't know how that happens. Absolute bullshit

  • Shanahan played for the Rangers...hmmm..

  • That hit wasnt that hard!

NHL is slowly turning into soccer!

  • @aftereffects777 Shut up you moron, he hit him in the head with an elbow.

  • @dietoolife he went down like a baby.

  • In order that the masses don’t figure out what they are really doing we will further distract them with amusements, games, pastimes, passions, luxury homes... Via the media, we shall soon begin to propose competitions in art, and in sport of all kinds: these interests will finally distract their minds from asking questions which we would definitely not want to answer.

  • Wolski should watch his faggot Polish bitch ass, although he probably won't fight like a man so a Sen might have to take a suspension on this one. I think that's why we got Konopka at any rate. What a loser.

  • dirty

  • I'm a Wolski fan but that wasn't professional

  • Shanahan really blew it on this one. Gives Sutton 5 games (2 games maybe, but 5?) and gives Wolski NOTHING for this???

Make up for this gaffe Shanny.

  • @TheSkookumchuk dude even alfredsson said it wasn't dirty.

  • @23snacKs No he didn't, he said he didn't agree with Wolski not being suspended. That's the exact opposite.

    What are you talking about?

  • @TheSkookumchuk OK, do I really need to quote Alfredsson's exact words?

"He explained their position and the process they went through with not going anywhere further with this and I said I understood."

"..I have no problem with their decision."

    That's what I'm talking about.

  • @23snacKs I can't post the link in the comment for some reason

"I said I understood, but I don't totally agree," Alfredsson said of the league's decision to levy no further punishment on Wolski. "I thought (Wolski) could have avoided the whole situation."

Alfie's a classy veteran, he's not going to blast the league. But what really tees me off isn't that this hit was a suspension, but that Sutton's hit was a 5 game suspension while this got nothing. Inconsistency is what I have a problem with.

  • @23snacKs I'm trying to message you the link to the story, but it says your channel is not available :/

  • Dive.

  • Honestly, how is this different from Rome's hit on Horton? Same window of time before the hit, arguably this is worse because, with Rome's hit, the speed at which they were both moving made it harder to judge what would constitute interference.

  • Neil hit Wolski last year by jumping at him so Wolski got his hit back

  • I am going to say thank god no suspension.

Chris Neil has really brought down the team in this regard. Should I remind the Neil to Drury hit too? Sorry Alfie, but Neil got you this one.

  • alfredsson skated right into him, and he reacted by hitting, he did not seek him out to hurt him. he reacted to a guy being in his space. NOT dirty. however, its unfortunate it caught alfredsson so clean.

  • shanahan sucks

  • These announcers are a bit much. If you watch it over and over, Wolski is watching the puck the whole time, until the impact, then goes back to the puck. The puck went the way he "changed the path he was" on to go for the puck. As if you watch, Alfredsson was beginning to do which is why his head was lower. Also, who doesn't brace for an impact? Wolski's highest penalty minute total for a year was in 08-9 with the Avalanche with 28?? No intent. just sucks that Alfredsson is hurt. good Shanny.

  • I can't believe this wasn't reviewed and Wolski isn't suspended right now. That was a cheap shot if I ever saw one to Alfie. Come on now, he looks and then the elbow goes to Alfie's head! They definitely for that one wrong.

  • Sutton gets suspended 5 games for a clean hit and Wolski does not even get suspended for a dirty cheap shot. Come on NHL get it right.

  • Wow, how did Wolski avoid a suspension? I'm not a fan of either team, but everything about it is consistent with Rule 48.1. The head looked to be the principal point of contact and even worse is that it was away from the play. Explain this away, Shanahan!

  • I'm not what ruling I would give on the play...

Alfie seems to skate into him...and with Alfie being so short...he's more likely to run into an elbow rather than a shoulder

    It's a tough call...

  • @LoowheezeBreeze thats what i was thinking but at 1:18 from that angle you see him lean in to Alfie, whether the elbow was intentional or whether he meant it to be just the shoulder/upper arm, i'm not sure

  • He moved his elbow to hit him, should have been a suspension. If he had hit Avery, then maybe no, but it's not as if Alfredsson is a dirty player.

  • Listen to the dirty NY fans, they don't even have the class to clap when Alfredson gets up, plus they boo the blatant call against Wolski! Yep these are the people who probably support and admire corrupt Wall Street.

  • I like what Shannahan has been doing, but his non suspension on this doesn't make sense. Murray said that the explanation from him was that Wolski, upon contact, stiffened up. How he can't see that he did more than stiffen up is beyond me, he obviously made a motion with his elbow at Alfredson, who was following the play and no longer had the puck for some time. Plus like the hockey commentators indicate, Wolski suspiciously changed direction and seemed to target Alfredson!

  • I just lost a lot of respect for Shanahan i can't believe this blatant head shot is going unnoticed by the Shanabanhammer.

  • Headshot. Period. Wolski better look after himself next time he is in Ottawa. Shanahan ... please do explain why it was not a suspension. Are we seeing the same issue with Shanahan/Rangers as Campbell/Bruins? Karma will get Wolski.

  • Comment removed

  • The Rangers are a god-awful team. Someone please get rid of them.

  • This is a definite suspension.... Shanahan, you just had a huge lapse of judgement. I thought you were the one to get things done in the NHL but I guess not, you're just another of the same.

  • Is Brendan Shanahan on frigging vacation or something? Yeah, he's going to 'lay down the law' *rolling eyes*

  • I hope Aflie is alright, he and Shane Doan are the ones most worthy of a Stanley Cup in the leauge right now. It's suspension worthy for sure, if he's not, then Shanny is no better than Campbell when it comes to being biased towards teams that he has a connection with.

  • he was no where near the puck !!!!

  • And here comes Shanny with the banhammer!

  • Grymt bra kanal!

  • He's not getting suspended which is bullshit. For you shitbirds that don't think this is suspension worthy then look up Pronger's elbow on Dean McAmmond and tell me the difference?

This shit is how Bertuzzi incidents start. Bring up Lessard and fucking drive Wolski's head into fucking ice.

  • Elbow was in... It's a headshot, but it's not an elbow. This looks like a situation where an opponent is skating in your area and you want to give him a bump for good measure, and it was at the worst possible spot and time. Not a lengthy suspension, or at least it shouldn't be.

  • @tthegiant the elbow is in until the point of contact when he raises it. You're not looking close enough.

  • alfredsson skated into him. Of course he will protect himself. He did get his arms up a little high, which is unfortunate, but he didnt go out of his way and nail him in the head or into the boards like konopka did. I don't think he will get suspended for long, if even at all. it was a collision. not a dirty hit. hope alfredsson doesn't suffer from this tho, he's a great player.

  • @crazycarsten well said, makes me giggle seeing all the comments crying for 8+ games. He didn't get any because he didn't deserve any.

  • No doubt its a blind side hit. Definitely a suspension. Not even close to an elbow though, the people that are saying this was an elbow, you guys need get some glasses, you can see the elbow is tucked around 0:51

  • Wolski should have stayed with the Avs..

  • @nyraider91 lol in the chest?

  • @nyraider91 you must be blind...yes alfredsson skates in his direction..but you can CLEARLY see his elbow lean into his HEAD when alfie's body turns! Another thing, you don't "bump" into a player when they don't have the puck. But it's ok, i'll give you a pass with your ignorant comment (especially about Canadians), because you probably don't even watch hockey on a day to day basis

  • how is wolski not getting a suspension for this?

  • good. get wolski off this team already.

  • 6 games for sure

  • but wheres the hit on anisimov?

  • @NYRGABORIK anisimov actually turned his back on the very last second, konopka was looking to hit him shoulder to shoulder but that last second anisimov turned so to be honest konopka shouldn't have even gotten 2 minutes for that.

  • what was that??? cheap hit way after the play!!!

  • i remember when this guy was still Relevant in Colorado... sad to see how downward his career has gone

  • I have a feeling since it's a New York player Shanny won't do anything. I guess the lost was bad enough for them already.

  • GO LEAFS BITCHES!!!!!!!

  • interference for sure!

  • minor penalty. joke

  • Alfredsson gets up of course, like a boss.

  • Send Bertuzzi on Wolski

  • What an idiot

  • he was nicer as an avalanche

  • No hearing has been scheduled. Seems like the Sens get screwed over by the league once more. Fuck Shanahan.

  • wolski is gonna get shanabanned!

  • Thats Awsome fuck ottowa

  • wolski's a pussy

  • What makes this all the more ridiculous is the player Konopka hit for a 5 minute major and game expulsion was playing on the power play later that night. Alfie got blindsided to the head and the douche only gets 2 mins minor?? Alfie had to LEAVE the game. Talk about shitty refs. And Tortorella needs to get a grip, what hit?? WHAT HIT?? what game was he watching????

  • As a Rangers fan, I say suspend him for the rest of the season. That was disgusting, and it's one of the main reasons they lost yesterday. Wolski sucks, yesterday he was actually having a good game. Made some nice plays, then he does this. Should've been a 5 minute major, he's lucky he only got 2 minutes.

  • I think it should be at least 6 games. Clear cut example of what the NHL is trying to get rid of, why not just fucking suspend him? IT'S A BLINDSIDE ELBOW TO THE HEAD.

  • you are fair game to get hit 1 second after the puck leaves your stick, so this wasn't a late hit but definitely dirty and unnecessary. I'd say 4 games but it would be like 10 if Wolski was a repeat offender

  • This is a dirty hit. Elbow to the head and he was no where near the puck. That's just stupidity taking over there.

  • That is 6 + more games imo, I hope 10. it was a late and illegal hit to the head to a star player

and fine tortorella too for not thinking that is a penalty and fine anisimov for that dive

new york rangers are such a classless team

  • I never liked Alfredsson ever since the Stanley cup finals when the Sens played the Ducks and the one game with like 2 seconds left in the period Alfredsson took a slapshot and aimed it right at I think Niedermayer. Even so I still don't like seeing hits like this

  • 6-8 games for this, totally stupid move, GJ!

  • @AwesomeNuke 0 days, NHL is Helen Keller and would rather suck a dick than save someones life.

  • Comment removed

  • Yup, probably going to get 2 games or so for that. Would have been clean if he hit him to the body instead of the head b/c Alfie was admiring his pass.

  • Haha is it usually this quiet in the arena when Rangers are playing?

  • @Ecke1692 I doubt anyone cares, cause the Rangers are the 2nd-most valuable team in the league (according to Forbes Magazine) so people are buying tickets.
