Well, I'm borrowing it from my uncle so it didn't cost me anything. But really, I only have one problem with it--I can't get it to sound completely smooth. It's always the tiniest bit buzzy, but that's not a huge problem. So it's a pretty good instrument :)
I want moog to start making these again. I'd sacrafice the mute and some of the controls for the beauty and a bit better linearity over the standard etherwave.
have you ever heard the halo theme song?!?!?! (rhetorical, i promise.) i played that with a band not too long ago...still have the music...all the triplets drive the altos insane; couldn't imagine how hard it'd be on theremin. i agree, though, it would sound cool if properly played, and i bet if anyone could do it it'd be mr. randy george... :)
thats awesome!! could the music be understood well enogh to play on the keybored?? (if so i would like a copy, or if thats a little much then mabey just a medium-advanced run through) =]
No sir, the Theremin is operated only with two hands, using radio waves. There are usually dials on the panel facing the player that allow him to adjust the sensitivity, volume, and pitch. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Now that makes everyone rrrrreally sad. But its a pro instrument, you dont just "pick it up" like guitar or piano. Pro quality = moog, Pro price = moog...
Yeah Number09 is right, 400 dollars is VERY cheap, I'm a drummer and I have spent almost that amount on ONE Zildjian K Ride cymbal, so yeah be thankful you love the Theremin and not the drums, they are TOO expensive, glad I only play a 4 piece kit with 4 cymbals.
It was the pay off for working the NAMM show. That was a nightmare. Disneyland will forever be ruined for me. Visit the M-Audio website and look for the NAMM video to see what I'm talking about. The booth was a success, but my body and soul were destroyed there.
The Zelda Theremine szen is so awesom ^^

What are some of the added controls on the Etherwave Pro?
I have an Etherwave Standard and I'm just curious to know what was so great about the Pro that made it worth four times more than the Standard.
DrummerCoCa 3 years ago
How's the standard working out for you? A worthy investment?
