  • I liked the throne room with no throne. Ludwig II had taken almost all of the gold in Bavaria to be melted down and made into his throne. He was declared insane before the castle was finished. Later, he and is doctor both drowned. Some think they committed suicide.

  • I guess i'll get real rich and buy it off germany and then finish it and live in, for my summer home.

  • DQVI's Swantone Castle brought me here lol. I hope more games made references to architectonical miracles like this

  • are those the two witnesses enoch and elijah, with the messiah Yehushua/jesus in the centre?

  • Awwww.... ♥ ♥ ♥

    That's stunning.

It always was...but where in the world do i find this music?

    It's perfect!!

  • beautiful music

  • wunderschön. und die musik passt echt supi zum schloss. das schloss des Märchenkönigs. wie ein großer weißer schwan der seine flügel aubreitet.

  • This is my favorite castle of all Europe

  • Es LEBE der König

    Ludovico 2

  • i love this song! what movie is it form?

  • the music reminds me of Oblivion

  • Actually every square meter of Germanys land tells it's own centuries old fairy tales and legends. At least 2000 years of breathtaking history.

  • I remember when I lived in Germany as a child and we visited this castle, I can remember being in complete awe at how absolutely beautiful it was.

  • Der Tölzer Knabenchor wird am 26.8.10 ein Konzert auf "Neuschwanstein" geben.

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es jetzt noch Eintrittskarten gibt (?).

  • This place is beautiful?!?!!!

  • I am buying this castle.

  • ...i wanna go thereeeee

  • LoL, shame shame shame, no camra's were allowed. That is a nice video me and my family went there 4 years ago, and I remember waiting for ever for the English speaking tour.

  • The composer is Lisa Bloom Cohen, she composes music mostly for movies. The name of the music is "Magical Castle" (checked on her website) Since she is a production composer, unfortunately it's not available on CD. It is beautiful, isn't it.

  • Seeing this video brings back wonderful memories of visiting this amazing castle 20 years ago. It's breathtaking to see in the video but nothing compares to being there surrounded by such grandeur and beauty. Just the scale of the castle itself is enough to render one speechless. Thank you for reminding me :-)

  • @regszkora: it's a common myth that he "bankrupted" Bavaria- but the truth is he only bankrupted his civil list. Also, he was not murdered by his guards on a walk- and he was never in "exile." He died under mysterious circumstances while in Berg Bavaria with Dr.Gudden his psychiatrist. No guards present at all. Was it suicide or murder? no one knows. His guard (Col.Durckheim) was fiercely loyal to Ludwig. The people loved him during his life time. these are the facts.

  • Well said.

  • yeah def.

  • k. just rent me a room ! lol.

  • Are you guys kidding me? This couldn't have been built in 1868-1870. It's too monumental! How could anyone have built this? It must be an illusion. Is this the 8th Wonder of the World?

  • it actually was, by King Ludwig II, He actually had several buildings constructed and bankrupted his family in the process, not to mention Bavaria as well. In the end he was killed by his guards who where protecting him on a walk. at that time he was exiled.

  • @regszikora: It's sad how anyone could be murdered, yet alone by those charged to protect him. He must have REALLY angered them somehow. The splendor of this castle is beyond words. Did you notice all the fine details? How about the "upgrades", which are too numerous to mention. This is mind-boggling! Imagine how many craftsmen, and artists it took to accomplish this.

  • @terrafirma91, yes this place is incredible. One of the great fantasy places in the world. This palace is the one that is used to fashion Cinderella's Castle for Disney. However that has never been confirmed. The basement rooms are even more spectacular and curious than any other in Europe.

King Ludwig II of Bavaria is a very interesting character, and a good read actually. I would suggest looking him up on the net

thanx for commenting on my comment

  • @regszikora: Thanks for responding, and I'll certainly read-up on Ludwig ll. Thanks for the information.

  • were can i download the song ?

  • @kleberbert get a youtube to mp converter and convert this video to a music file

  • It's called "Cork Castle" by Lisa Bloom Cohen.

  • if anyone else here has ever been in this castle there is a million signs saying no video or photos....rebel

  • does anyone know the name of the orchestra that is performing this beautiful piece, I thank you very much

  • in the city (fuessen) at the end i drank the best beer for ever!

  • Hey, where's the footage of the grotto? The grotto is the most interesting part of this castle.

  • 5 Stars! Beautiful castle. Thanks for posting. My favorite castle is the Frankstein castle in Germany. It is the one I went to the most when I was a kid.

  • There is evidence that King Ludwig was shot twice in the back. There is also a picture of the king's body showing blood coming from his mouth. One does not bleed from the mouth if that person drowned. Please read what I have written about King Ludwig in my highlight box.

  • imagine getting stoned and walking in the corridors of Neuschwanstein castle......... pfwaaaahhhhw!!!!!

  • Una maravilla para la vista.

  • This is a must see before you die type of place. I have never been to this castle but its on my list now.

  • I totally agree. This is certainly high on my list of must see places. I also want to see the Chapel of Miracles in Altotting and Richard Wagner's theatre house in Bayreuth.

  • amazing

  • I have been to so many castles, but neuschwanstein is still my favorite. the place and the architecture is so breathtaking! no wonder disney copied it

  • da haben sie schneewittchen 1955 gedreht.

  • It's called "Cork Castle" by Lisa Bloom Cohen.

  • where can i get it?

  • whats the song?

  • This castle and its magnificent throne room are a powerful witness to who King Ludwig II truly was. Any man who spoke of Jesus as King Ludwig did, is not inclined to commit suicide. I am sure he would have, instead, fought to finish his castle. Beauty and the creation of beauty were Ludwig's passions.

  • nice;)

  • The documentary film shown to tourists in the castle only presents the rumor that King Ludwig was crazy and that he committed suicide. But there is no evidence of this and even the King, himself, contested such claims. The night he was arrested at

    the castle, he asked:

"I have never spoken with a doctor who has diagnosed me as crazy. By what authority then are you arresting me?"

Ludwig knew the law and his rights. The next day, however, he and his doctor were found dead at the edge of a lake.

  • One day, God willing i will be walking throught these halls with a smile from ear to ear! I've already been to Die Wartburg, Schloss Friedenstein, Schloss Celle, die Wachsenburg but I'd really like to visit Neuschanstein soon.

  • King Ludwig II gave Jesus the highest honor in the throne room: The King of kings. King Ludwig wrote the following to composer, Richard Wagner, about Jesus and the loca- tion he was going to build his new castle:

"You know the revered guest I would like to accommodate there; the location is one of the most beautiful to be found, holy and unapproachable, a worthy temple for the divine friend who has brought salvation

and true blessing to the world."

  • I have visited Neuschwanstein and it was just breathtaking... I was so disappointed when they told me that I couldn't get even a single photo - and I NEVER use flash in such places!

Thanks for this video, it really brings my visit there back!

  • Ludwig II was considered mad for building his castles, but today they are Bavaria's biggest tourist attractions. Perhaps he wasn't quite so mad.

  • what extremely beauty def germany is in my drems just hope going there

  • Fantastic!

  • The images are really beautiful. I worked in Schloss Neuschwanstein myself and I must admit, the fact that you actually got the opportunity to take this video impresses me the most. Since that is strictly forbidden! ;o)

  • I have been wondering why is the photographing forbidden in the castle?

  • They say because the light of the flashes can damage the paintings and the differents surfaces.

  • Well, honestely it is due to the copyright. Neuschwansteincastle is owned by the State of Bavaria, so the Government keeps the rights. Of course the flash is damage to the paintings too, but the mainreason is the copyright.

And there is one more reason. there are tours with up to 75 people starting every 5 minutes. This is up to 8000 visitors per day. Now just imagine a group of 75 japanese taking pictures in the throne-hall! This would be the worsed traffic-jam ever and others would be stuck

  • And the main reason for me anyway, is just the fact the people get asked to please not take pictures there by the guides, and there are lots of signs as well.

So, how can same people act that arrogant and unpolite and do it anyway???

In my opinion, people that don't accept the rules in foreign countries and act if they own the whole planet should not travel anyway.

  • they have another reason :|

  • Oh it is so impressive! I went to southern Germany a few years ago. See the Black Forest and Neuschwanstein.

  • this castle is so pretty. my sis had a poster of it on her wall once. i'm gonna take her there one day...

  • I was there in 1990 and was able to buy a piece of the roof, which they were replacing. It was stamped with a relief of the castle, or Schloss, and the proceeds went to help pay for the replacement. It's one of my favorite souvenirs from my time in Germany with the Army.

  • Thats pretty cool, I would love to go and see this place in person. I would imagine it's very impressive!

  • Sorry, my mistake. Hohenschwangau was the retreat castle for the Bavarian Royal Family.

  • Hohenschwangau was the Bavarian Royal Court.

  • I visited Neuschwanstein many years ago,and it was simply breathtaking. The video is wonderful, but nothing can truely give you the scale and granduer of it as seeing it in person. Thanks for bringing back some great memories :-)

  • beautiful

this is the song filmcow uses on the cloak and spatula madness like just saying not that it has anything to do w/it

  • Many people say this is the most beautiful castle in the world, but believe you me, Ive seen a lot of castles of my three years living in Germany and NOTHING comes close to the beauty of Hohenzollern.

  • The thing is not only the beauty but how it was built Neuschwanstein castle had running water inside the castle and other little things.

Your lucky when I was there we weren't allowed to take pictures. :( I took some anyway lol :)

  • Thank you so much for the information

  • Hi, Well guys this music is called ''Cork castle By Lisa Bloom Cohen, but in her website its called ''Magical Castle''... The sad part is that this song is impossible to get in MP3 trust me it is...Because this song is part of a library of Smart Sound and the only way to heard this song is using that software. If you need some info just ask. :)

  • thanks for this information, is very interesting, I love this song!!

  • How can I get it? hehe, maybe i will take the song from a video :s

  • - Did you film this because i thought you couldn't bring camera's into that castle. O_O;

  • can somebody tell me where on net i can download this song? :( please

  • cool music. lisa bloom cohen...

  • so great...castle and music in video! thank you!

  • i wish people wouldn't automatically assume the king was crazy. he was just a homosexual romantic who adored the quiet mountain life as well as his privacy. i don't believe he was crazy but that is what i believe.

  • nice music and video, thanks for share this images... but can you tell me the title of this wonderful music, please??

  • lisa bloom cohen- cork castle

    pretty music

  • MinuteOrMinute

Thank you so much for this information! so nice!!

  • OMG!! I dunno where it was, maybe the church part, but a view from one of those windows is AWESOME!!! O_O I took a picture of it! It's of a village in the distance and a river too!

  • Neuschwanstein is the dream of the crazy fairytale King Ludiwig II of Bavaria. He felt in love to Richard Wagner and lost his mind about it.

    Quite romantic, hm? ^^

  • um, I thought he was just born crazy... And didn't he have the decease where he needed to drink blood, like a craving for it? It's like a mental decease thing, and then they found him dead in this lake.

  • It's not as big on the inside as you think from looking at it on the bridge.

  • lovethediewinterfied:

Maybe so but the view of the lake from the chapel window is awesome!

  • No probably bigger than you can imagine.

I remember that only two floors were open for public and not all the rooms on these two floors were open at all.

  • How many floors are there?

  • Wonderful castle. For business reasons I have been in Germany 8 times. Everytime I go I take a different person with me, they always ask me to go to this castle. It is a nice place but 8 times is crazy. I like Germany a lot. Good people and I have very good friends there

  • Continuing from my prev. comment...I also liked the music aswell....u havent been inspired to Wagner as the back-up have u? I read somewhere that he was Ludwig's favourite composer! :) :) :) :) :) :) If not, i still enjoyed the tour anyway!!!

  • I LOVE this Castle and i equally love its King!! I haven't had the opportunity to visit this splendorous and enchanting place, but i've read about it enough in the tour guides and internet articles to have fostered a minute obsession with it, lol. Putting it simply, this man was an utter genius way too ahead of his time (Hello, split plumbing and air-conditioning) and i cant wait till i get the chance to tour this place with some friends when i get to Uni...Thanks so much MCOPE1961!

  • i want a castle

  • I love Neuschwanstein - miss it so much, Fuessen is wonderful too. nice music in the video.

  • This is just the Most Beatifull Castle in the World!!!

  • MASSIMO E PERLA presenti!!!!

  • this from cinderella and sleepy beauty castle at disneyland and magic kingdom

  • CInderella, sleeping beauty and disneyland´s castle are based on this one, cool, isn´t it?

  • This place was sooooo wonderful!

  • Simply just out of this world, this one must be in the N7Wonders, i'm from México, and for me this is the most beautiful wonder of the world.

  • Well done!

We've been there last week.......it's very nice!

Walt Disney 'used' this palace in mind for his fairytales!!! Pour Lüdwig II did not very long enjoy of theis castle...he died at the age of 42 years.

This video is a real tribrute, thanks.

  • I didn't know it was possible to fall in love with a building... Neuschwanstein is no building - it truly is a magical kingdom... I love it so much... Hundreds of years of history has been caught in this ancient vessel, which has survived the passage of time... May Neuschwanstein stand forever.

  • Exactly the same...I thought...when I saw this MAGNIFICIENT peace of art!!! At this moment, watching this video, I can't not even cry!(I am way to romantic). Simply wonderful!!!

  • aww... I visited this castle when I was 8

  • VERY GOOOOOOOOOOOD I WAS THERE!!!

  • I was there...it is soo soo beautiful, I wanted pics and videos of it but i could not record any they would not let me, so I had to buy the books that they sell for my memories lol. But i have it in my memory it was great i loved it so much.

By the way your video is so nice u did a great job

  • They let us take pictures, but that was back in the 80's. They must have changed the rules since then. Do they still let you go in the cave?

  • What, I didnt get to go in any cave!

  • My Disney-Land

  • whats the music of video ??

  • Lucky!! I had to smuggle my camera in and they still wouldn't let me record! I was sneaky though and got some (really CRAPPY) vids. But still a beautiful castle and I loved every minute of it. Alittle depressed that there were no dragons in the gift shop though... T-T

  • Dragons ?...you were in germany....not in china !

  • I know, but dragons... Castles... Kinda thought there would be just a little bit of a connection.

  • Hmmm ? Maybe in an american imagination of a fairy tale.

Hmmm ?...OK, when I think of it, ther`s also a dragon in the Saga of the Nibelungs.

  • Neuschwansetin is boring as hell , dunno why all tourists go there

  • I'm Cambodian and Neuschwanstein was actually breathtaking for me. I was with my sweetie and it really does bring back memories...talk about flashback!

  • thanks for that video....

  • everyone should live in a castle - at least once

  • Everyone one? Hah I don't think everyone should.

  • Alright then can we just have a nice Princess for a day..pretty please :)

  • Haha agreed.

  • pretty cool. odd little teaser at the end there though of Hohenschwangau... is that the castle nearby where he grew up? How "nearby" is it?

  • Yes, that is where King Ludwig grew up. I would guess they're not more than a couple of miles from each other. You can see one from the other and supposedly Ludwig, as a child, dreamed of building his castle where Neuschwanstein now stands.

  • It's very close. If you are in good shape, a brisk walk. I loved Hohenschwangau very much so. I love Germany. What a truly magical sight. The Germans are very polite and friendly to be around.

  • It's called "Cork Castle" by Lisa Bloom Cohen.

  • please tell me, what is that theme song? it gave me chills
