I just feel like Windows run slower than Mac. Macs just have quick speed and included software that I love to use. I don't like that you have to purchase Windows software (like Microsoft Word) and that it's not included (on the Mac). Quality imagery on Mac. PC is good though because I feel really homey on it. I mean that the organization and usage of control panel is easy access for example.
Why resells on Mac are good is because they actually last. I have gone through 4 or 5 PCs between 1999-2009. But in 2010 I got my first MacBook and it runs as smoothe as a day I got it. I will never look back to Windows.

I have to work with the odd one here or there as part of my current job. And I can safely say MACS SUCK! Overpriced, horrible software, broken boot camp assistant, and a dumbed-down, locked-out, unintuitive UI. I'll take Linux or Windows along with custom built from scratch over a Mac any day.

I have a 2008 macpro dual 2.88g. Full price. I received it 24hrs before the new model was released. I asked if I could upgrade to the nehalem release. The Brisbane rep said no way because it had been taken out of the box. Totally en-ethical. They are crooks.
As for performance it is way slower than my core i7965 pc. Maybe 20 - 30% slower. Windows does NOT run better on bootcamp. OSX has occasional errors. Apple are too stupid to enable sli graphics.
I have a friend who uses both Macs and PCs (and likes them both equally), he's a good guy.
really, i only have a beef with Steve Jobs himself. I find that, though apple dose not really make bad products, they are always way over priced. Anything they make you can get elswhere just as good and for cheaper. eg. when I bought my Dad an MP3 player, nun of apples iPods were under $100, I bought a Dick Smith MP3 player for $35. It came with 1 years woranty and has given us no hassles.
Most average users would do just fine on ether systems. I don't know about Linex though, don't have much experience with it.

I also want to be able to use a Mac as well as a PC. iPhone's are sweet to me. iPods are epic. ok i bought a dell xps 420 with a quad core two duo prosessor 500GB hard drive 2 gigs of ram and i put four into the system and windows 7 and a ATI graphics card and i paid $500 say a imac with the same specs.and not even the same processor and it was $1200 so what does that tell you
macs are unquestionably overpriced - i would never buy one, but keep in mind dells are usually cheaper than the hardware is actually worth. you can buy a brand new dell, not use the tower or the motherboard of it, and if you were to sell the parts as brand new and unused, you'd get more money than what you paid for the entire computer. i work in a computer repair clinic and 8 out of 10 computers i work on are dells. so what does that tell you?

Do you know why games will never be as good for MAC than on PC? Because of a little something called DirectX which is a graphics / input / networking / etc programming API that is the foundational platform for all high performance and triple-A title video games.

i'm not a mac or windows fan, but keep in mind only dx11, which most hardware and computers don't support today, is the best graphics engine. otherwise, opengl is the best and its license is free to use and modify. even some xbox 360 games use opengl. only microsoft products use directx. go figure, ps3 has a LOT better looking games than xbox and none of them use dx. macs just suck at gaming because they aren't compatible with many good graphics cards

I use Pinnacle studio for Videos, and Microsoft office for the slide shows and word processing my choice Linux with Wine dual booting with XP or Seven
I'll admit that some Mac users find PC users just as aggravating as you think they are. One of the few reasons I became a Mac user is not because of steve jobs, but because every regular windows based computer I used made me even more aggravated than the last, from my start at 98 to my end at XP SP3.
I even used Vista and Windows 7 to confirm my choice in OSX Snow Leopard.

Mac users think all PCs are like the ones in their high school library. If they had any idea how cool the custom PC experience is, they would never have used a Mac. My friends and I all play the latest game titles on our custom PC's, and I even beat a bunch of Mac fanboys at a film fest this summer with a pc edited film.
I have nothing against consoles, in fact, I love Forza 3 and Xbox Live. However, you can play all the latest and greatest games like Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout3, and Crysis also on the PC. Not to mention the higher performance and modding potential. Also, some games don't come out on consoles.
I am sorry to say you need to check you facts. Even apple has been backed by games like Bioshock, Diablo, and other various games. The market for Mac games is steadily increasing. It's going to eventually gain equal marketing power in games thank's to the fat that every Mac cames with the bare requirements to play pretty much every game created.
Enjoy it. Soon there will be just as many games for mac as for PC.

Ahaha your xp system is just as fast as it was on day 1? You must have done a fresh install or done a series of upgrades. I've had about 4 windows systems and they've all eventually slowed down and in one case the CPU fried and in another; the power supply eventually quit.

I also have an old ass XP desktop system laying around. I don't use it as much anymore because I have a laptop for portability now, but that old XP desktop starts right up and does everything I ask it to do. Probably bought it 5 or 6 years ago, still runs just as fast as it did when I bought it.

If we had gone with Mac's at work, our studio cost would have doubled or even tripled. Instead we went with PC and it does all the video editing, web development and graphic design we ask it to without breaking the bank.
Mac's do not suck, but they are not worth the price.
My macs were well worth the price; especially in the long term. I paid $10 to upgrade my OS and I paid half as much for my iwork office suite than I would have had I bought one for a PC.
Also the mac being restrained to a closed environment helps my computer run so much smoother with much less hiccups than on a PC. That alone makes the mac worth it.
I find it interesting that there are a lot of people who detest apple and have perfectly running PCs, which of course is a good thing. Me personally; I haven't had a PC that didn't give me some sort of problem.

Mac OS X runs on PCs. So why buy Mac hardware if you're a power user? Power users are not the target market for a Macintosh; newbies and other non-technical users are!
Mac hardware is GREAT for newbies who want a computer that is fully supported without 3rd-party drivers as the norm. Because 3rd-party drivers made by cheap hardware companies cause a lot of problems on other systems. Mac OS X also provides a better default configuration for non-technical users - but it sucks for power users.
THe Irony is mac use pc hardware mother boards ram.. cpus video cards are all from other companys that make pc hardware.. mac hardware is pc hardware... You can install mac on a pc if you really want too.. Just install what os you want to and if you like it who cares what other people say as long as it works... I use vista and I like it.. If there was something better out there I might use it but Im happy the way it works now and I used mac os x on my computer and didnt like it I wentBackToVista

I find that, though apple dose not really make bad products, they are always way over priced. Anything they make you can get elswhere just as good and for cheaper. eg. when I bought my Dad an MP3 player, nun of apples iPods were under $100, I bought a Dick Smith MP3 player for $35. It came with 1 years woranty and has given us no hassles.
Most average users would do just fine on ether systems. I don't know about Linex though, don't have much experience with it.

I've grown up with PC's. Made a hackintosh. Tried many linux distros. I want to buy a Mac for video editing. I also want to be able to use a Mac as well as a PC. iPhone's are sweet to me. iPods are epic. Apple is pretty damn cool, but I hate people who are blindly loyal many Mac users don't know how to MAINTAIN a computer Macs are made for idiots. lol I see both sides. Computers FTW!

macs are unquestionably overpriced - i would never buy one, but keep in mind dells are usually cheaper than the hardware is actually worth. you can buy a brand new dell, not use the tower or the motherboard of it, and if you were to sell the parts as brand new and unused, you'd get more money than what you paid for the entire computer. i work in a computer repair clinic and 8 out of 10 computers i work on are dells. so what does that tell you?

Do you know why games will never be as good for MAC than on PC? Because of a little something called DirectX which is a graphics / input / networking / etc programming API that is the foundational platform for all high performance and triple-A title video games.

i'm not a mac or windows fan, but keep in mind only dx11, which most hardware and computers don't support today, is the best graphics engine. otherwise, opengl is the best and its license is free to use and modify. even some xbox 360 games use opengl. only microsoft products use directx. go figure, ps3 has a LOT better looking games than xbox and none of them use dx. macs just suck at gaming because they aren't compatible with many good graphics cards

I'll admit that some Mac users find PC users just as aggravating as you think they are. One of the few reasons I became a Mac user is not because of steve jobs, but because every regular windows based computer I used made me even more aggravated than the last, from my start at 98 to my end at XP SP3.
I even used Vista and Windows 7 to confirm my choice in OSX Snow Leopard.
Dollar-for-Dollar, better than any Windows OS.

Yes, they are "Dollar-for-Dollar" better than a PC. They maintain a resale value over time, while most other loose their value. Even Wobblebottom said that's one of the reasons why he got mac.
What do you mean you can't customize a mac? You consider what you actually NEED, then you purchase computer. You shouldn't go out and buy a piece of crap, then expect to be able to upgrade it.

I love how Mac is supposed to be the oh-so-creative and "cool" system to use, but:
1) You can't customize them to your heart's content like a custom Windows machine.
2) I use Windows at work. I'm a Video & Multimedia Director at one of the largest production companies in my state. I make movies, websites, photo demos, graphic designs, posters, blah blah blah.... everything creative that you can imagine. So can you believe that some Mac users think PC's can't do anything creative? Pffffffff

Mac users think all PCs are like the ones in their high school library. If they had any idea how cool the custom PC experience is, they would never have used a Mac. You forgot to factor in the price of a superior lCD quality of the macbook with a multi touch trackpad and ilife.
You also forgot to factor in how it ages. It'll get very slow in a few years and it's resale value will plummet.
Also you forgot to factor in upgrades. Windows is one heck of an expensive OS. I got the latest Mac OS X for $10.

I have nothing against consoles, in fact, I love Forza 3 and Xbox Live. However, you can play all the latest and greatest games like Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout3, and Crysis also on the PC. Not to mention the higher performance and modding potential. Also, some games don't come out on consoles.
Meanwhile, NO GAMES come out on Mac. Lame ass OS.

I am sorry to say you need to check you facts. Even apple has been backed by games like Bioshock, Diablo, and other various games. The market for Mac games is steadily increasing. It's going to eventually gain equal marketing power in games thank's to the fat that every Mac cames with the bare requirements to play pretty much every game created.
Enjoy it. Soon there will be just as many games for mac as for PC.

Ahaha your xp system is just as fast as it was on day 1? You must have done a fresh install or done a series of upgrades. I've had about 4 windows systems and they've all eventually slowed down and in one case the CPU fried and in another; the power supply eventually quit.
I actually base all my comments on experience rather than what Apple says. I probably have more PC experience than you do.

I also have an old ass XP desktop system laying around. I don't use it as much anymore because I have a laptop for portability now, but that old XP desktop starts right up and does everything I ask it to do. Probably bought it 5 or 6 years ago, still runs just as fast as it did when I bought it.
I guess it just goes to show, Mac users will say anything.

Uh, yeah, it's just as fast as it was the day I bought it. Nothing you can say will change that fact, so I guess you'll just have to learn to live with it. And live with the fact you paid so much for your Mac.
If we had gone with Mac's at work, our studio cost would have doubled or even tripled. Instead we went with PC and it does all the video editing, web development and graphic design we ask it to without breaking the bank.
Mac's do not suck, but they are not worth the price.

My macs were well worth the price; especially in the long term. I paid $10 to upgrade my OS and I paid half as much for my iwork office suite than I would have had I bought one for a PC.
Also the mac being restrained to a closed environment helps my computer run so much smoother with much less hiccups than on a PC. That alone makes the mac worth it.

Hey dude. I like this! Thanks! I am a designer that prefers to use a PC - because it saves me money and I just like the look of Windows more. I am not a big fan of Mac's marketing (slander). I use a Mac at work, it does the job - and yes, I agree with the goofy mouse. I'd switch it out if I could. In the end, it comes down to preference. I like to hear the truth, so I hate hype. Makes me rethink why I took a job in marketing!

Mac OS X runs on PCs. So why buy Mac hardware if you're a power user? Power users are not the target market for a Macintosh; newbies and other non-technical users are!
Mac hardware is GREAT for newbies who want a computer that is fully supported without 3rd-party drivers as the norm. Because 3rd-party drivers made by cheap hardware companies cause a lot of problems on other systems. Mac OS X also provides a better default configuration for non-technical users - but it sucks for power users.

THe Irony is mac use pc hardware mother boards ram.. cpus video cards are all from other companys that make pc hardware.. mac hardware is pc hardware... You can install mac on a pc if you really want too.. Just install what os you want to and if you like it who cares what other people say as long as it works... I use vista and I like it..
