If Mark Wahlberg were still Marky Mark in 2012, I don't think he would be as big of a joke as he was in the 90s. The reason he was laughing stock was because back in the 90s, there weren't a lot of credible white rappers and hip hop was loaded with so much talent like Biggie, 2pac, Nas, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Big L etc. Recently, the standards have gone down, even lower than the worst of what 90s rap had to offer that MC Hammer would be a god in this era.
