Barnes isn't a very nice person for real. Bowl in a pro-am with him. He bowls his frame and then walks away. He doesn't talk to the amateurs much. So, he's down in my list. Kasimakis had some bad carry in this match, and I wish he would've won.

@devildawg70, PBA bowling is dying, no question. However, bowling as a participation sport is up 30% from last year, ask AMF.

I do not know how you deem someone a 'nobody'... but Barnes has 8 PBA Titles, 2 of which are majors, and has been able to make a living BOWLING for the past 20 years. Also arguably the best bowler on tour right now. This guy can play on anything. Don't get me wrong, the fifteen times I have personally met Barnes, he was a straight prick..doesn't mean the guy cant bowl.

Barnes is one of my favourite players... 2nd only to Duke... But geesh, he was kind of arrogant back then...

Yes and he should have never changed. I think that's why he hasn't won as much as he should have. In my opinion he is probably the best in the world today yet he worries about his image too much. Barnes was always a very confident, arrogant bowler on the lanes. He had the swagger you need to be great. He needs to get it back and be more of the bad boy on tour.

It would be good for him to be more confident... But I don't think he can afford to be the bad boy when he's the USBC spokesperson, and the rep to the Olympic committee.

Pete Weber USED to be the "bad boy" on tour but I think he has kind of lost that title in recent years as he's reached middle-age. Someone else should take over that role, but I don't think it is for Barnes.
