Kobe has gotten his team to the Finals and finished off many teams in the Finals with some big highlight play to win the championship. He's done with a mixture of talent and over time, which means he equates to success in that franchise. We always remember who won the championship as well as who played the best on the team or got the MVP trophy. And you're comparing him this year to Lebron... well what about 2008-2010 for Lebron?
Nobody wins championships by themselves. Superstars carry their teams when the supporting cast is lacking, which is what both of them do. If you're the leader of the team and you go to the Finals, YOU carried your team there at some point and time because the team didn't play to it's finest 100% of the time or the superstar gave them the much needed emotional boost.

I don't see the '08-'10 Lakers being as good with Lebron instead of Kobe, and I don't see the 08-10 Cavs being as good with Kobe instead of Lebron. Last year after the championships he hit up Hakeem Olajuwon to give him some more moves in the post. Kobe is also a better one on one defender as well though Lebron is getting better. Lebron is a better help defender though. Kobe is better at clutch situations and scores better on isolations. Kobe is still better for now, Lebron will have his shine soon if Wade doesn't overtake him.

Like on the interview where they talk about mutual respect, they show Kobe and Bron play against each other, you don't see any clips of Bron scoring over Kobe. Kobe has gotten his team to the Finals and finished off many teams in the Finals with some big highlight play to win the championship. He's done with a mixture of talent and over time, which means he equates to success in that franchise. We always remember who won the championship as well as who played the best on the team or got the MVP trophy. And you're comparing him this year to Lebron... well what about 2008-2010 for Lebron?

Nobody wins championships by themselves. Superstars carry their teams when the supporting cast is lacking, which is what both of them do. If you're the leader of the team and you go to the Finals, YOU carried your team there at some point and time because the team didn't play to it's finest 100% of the time or the superstar gave them the much needed emotional boost.

Last year after the championships he hit up Hakeem Olajuwon to give him some more moves in the post. Kobe is also a better one on one defender as well though Lebron is getting better. Lebron is a better help defender though. Kobe is better at clutch situations and scores better on isolations. Kobe is still better for now, Lebron will have his shine soon if Wade doesn't overtake him.

Jordan is the only player that has not won with a great big man that was offensively great while being a great rebounder (Rodman only rebound and he was 6'9). Let's talk about Kobe vs Lebron Comparison against each other. Lebron has played the Lakers 14 times in his career. But only 11 times has he really fully (healthy) went against kobe. In those 3 excluded game (kobe had a shoulder dislocation only played 17 min, 2 game didn't played, 3rd game had a high severe ankle sprain only played 6 min.)
Lebron is 8-3 against Kobe when they meet. This is their head to head comparison starting from 2005 when lebron was in his 2nd year in the league.

I know we're not talking about Jordan but I'm trying to make a point. When people compare Kobe to Jordan is according to Team and Individual accomplishment:
Team: Championships, Individual: MVP, Finals MVP, Scoring, Ast, Reb, Stl, Blk title, Ft,FG,3P%, records most of these are a player stats. We all know Jordan outnumber Kobe in 95% of these stats. But this debate is not about Jordan vs Kobe, is Lebron vs Kobe. Since kobe talk about him being in the east that he will put up those number.

This is funny because that year, Kobe actually had worse numbers than his season average against the East.
2 more field goal attempts does NOT mean 4-6 more ppg. 2 more field goal attempts, when shooting at 46% overall means no more than 1 ppg. Even if both shots were 3s, it still wouldn't be more than 1 point a game (raised to the average)
I hate LeBron just as much as the next guy, but don't pretend you know advanced statistics. Read basketball-reference for a few months then try again...

bottom line, if kobe wins another ring this year against miami, he is better than jordan. say what you want, but think about this:
jordan's stiffest competition in the finals was against the lakers with magic/kareem and the jazz with stockton/malone. both combos include basketball greats, but each finals were against those combos when they were near the end of their career.
now if you look at what kobe might face against the heat: they have 3 all stars, all in their prime. way harder team.

Thats not the real reason why Kobe is better. Triangle offense really restricts any one person from averaging high assists as the ball is always moving. Kobe is a SG not a SF so of course Lebron is going to have more rebounds - hes right the damn hoop sheesh on the opposite side where the 3's would be raining down from the SG...

Lebron has probably never scored right over Kobe. Like on the interview where they talk about mutual respect, they show Kobe and Bron play against each other, you don't see any clips of Bron scoring over Kobe. Kobe on the otherhand has shot a lot of fadeaways and all over Lebron. I like them both, but Kobe's still better to me as a basketball player, Lebron is the better athlete.
