  • Dude, you are a major inspiration. You were born to be awesome in game making.

  • @LatisuakeAnimation: He was also born to inspire me to become a game maker. Just look at how many subscribers I have.

  • Poole reminds me of Eggman in some ways.

    Eggman turns animals into robots.

    Poole turns animals into cyborgs.

Eggman and Poole both want to make a change on the world by dominating it.

    They are both old.

  • @Iwillbenapo Techno Beta reminds me of Sonic and Techno Alpha reminds me of Shadow. Beta is a hero who saves the world from Poolle, and Alpha is a creation of Poolle tossed aside who is now back for revenge.

  • I can't tell if this is neat or horrible. I can say that I would've been way more interested if this weren't a Sonic fangame, though.

  • @Prinsdam but it's not a sonic fangame anymore...

  • looks epic i played the demo

  • @D6o6 Thanks very much!

  • For a game that ur making 100% by ur self it looks awesome

  • @MegaDJTZX Thanks very much! :)

  • No offense, but I liked the Sonic "recolor" character sprite better :P

But not bad for an original ;) I loved the first game.

  • I got a bit too used to Sonic, so I thought the Ultra forms are invincible, it turns out, Ultra Techno Beta, Ultra Techno Alpha, and Ultra Alpha are NOT invincible.

  • Haha, quite right! I felt that it would be copying Sonic too much if the Ultra forms were invincible, so I simply made them more resistant to harm (Ultra Beta/Alpha will only take 1/2 as much damage as they normally would when injured).

  • Huh, is that so? I once read that pre-GM8 games won't work on Windows 7, but I guess that information was incorrect. Thanks for the correction! ;)

  • @TechnoSuperguy Pre-GM7 games won't work on Vista/7.

  • I cant seem to download this demo

  • Hmm, that's strange. Did you try all the alternate download links in the description? If none of them are working, perhaps the game isn't compatible on your computer (unfortunately, T:TGP won't work on Macs or Windows 7).

  • yep! none of them are working.

  • Wait a second, Techno the Hedgehog did work for you, correct? In that case, TGP should work as well, since I created it using the same program. I wonder what the problem could be?

Just to be more specific, which problem are you encountering?

    1. You are able to download the game to your computer, but the game doesn't work when you try to play it.

    2. You are unable to download the game whatsoever.

  • @TechnoSuperguy I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and it runs great.

  • I agree with the description.

there are bugs in techno the hedgehog.

like the spike bug where techno is invincible.

  • Can you post or send me an MP3 or MIDI of the Techno theme? I'm planning on putting it into a game I'm currently working on, it easily stands up to legendary soundtracks like Punch-Out and Megaman.

  • Certainly! It would be a great honor to have my music in someone else's game! Thank you for the kind words -- a lot of people have criticized my music for being too short and repetitive, so I'm glad you think so highly of the TGP theme! :D Which theme do you want: the in-game theme, which is specially made to loop forever, or the TGP Trailer theme, which loops three times, then ends?

By the way, out of curiosity, what sort of game are you making?

  • @TechnoSuperguy As for the game, it's a Banjo-Kazooie fangame- one of the forums I go to, RareWareCentral, has been a little dead lately, and I decided to band together a few of the active members and make a Banjo fangame, since the Perfect Dark XBLA news doesn't seem to be attracting new members. As for the theme, I'd prefer the looping one, so that I can use it as a level theme. I think it would work great in the factory level I'm going to be making over February Break.

  • 'twas a great game! but I couldn't kill Alpha's boss.

  • Thanks, dude! Rino is a pretty tough boss at first, but once you master his attack pattern, he's a total pushover.

  • I beat him! it's those spinning lasers that got me. your bosses are like megaman ones! you can only master them if you learn their attacks.

  • Cool, good job beating him! My bosses were inspired by Mega Man bosses (since you have to memorize their attacks in order to beat them effectively), so I'm glad you noticed the similarity!

  • hey technosuperguy im Super Sonic 3 from yoyogames!

  • hey techno

im new but i liked your games

i was hiding in sonicjackaroo,s house

  • Hey, thanks DBN! Glad you like my games! You're a friend of Jackaroo, I presume?

  • no not really but i liked sonic lookout

  • hey kid how old are yo

  • I'm 19, Jelaninoel. Why do you ask?

  • u game seems kinda childish is all, i too was at the age where i loved sonic so much that i started doing my own thing with sonic & his pals etc, i did comics though. i was just asking to see if our ages matched. but ur 19 and doing this, i was about 13 lol. but to each their own

  • I make my games comical, lighthearted, and family-friendly so they will attract a wider audience. Obviously, plenty of big-name companies have had the same idea -- just look at Super Mario, which is possibly the most popular video game franchise of all time and is loved by young and old alike, despite being "childish". Then look at the long-time pros at Nintendo who have made said Mario games -- you can be sure at least one or two of them is older than me, and older than you, for that matter. ;)

  • Good gameplay however I do believe that it could use a little better graphics, say, maybe using adobe photoshop for the graphics in the game?

I used photoshop in my game that I'm working on.

  • Thanks, HyperFox. I made all the current demo's graphics in MSPaint, because I don't have Photoshop. I have, however, already made some nice graphics for later levels using Gimp -- but I don't plan on changing the character sprites at this point, since it would take forever. :P

  • I personally think photoshop is easier but it costs a fortune. And I'm not really familiar with gimp so I'm trying to get used to it at the library.

But I'm also learning photoshop in college so thats gonna be kind of hard

  • Hey dude!! Long time no see! I didn't know you had a Youtube account! :D Thanks, I appreciate your kind words about the graphics! Sadly I haven't done a bit of work to this game since I released the demo (I've been taking a long rest since then :P), but I hope to get started again soon. I'll let ya know when the next demo's out! :)

  • Very Cool!!

  • Thanks very much, Omgyoh!

  • No problem TechnoSuperguy!

  • Hey Techno, It's me again. Thanks for the Help beating Dark Sonic. Plus LOL at Ending.

  • No problem, Adam! Haha, glad you like the ending. ;)

  • Someone liked the recolour Techno better? Really? .... No taste

Anyways, designs are a lot better than prior, bravo on that one

The sprites could do with some work, they animate impressively well, but the proportions, poses and shading aren't up to scratch

I still think the designs could be more creative though, I dislike the "Gloves and shoes but no more" designs

  • Indeed, it's amazing that someone actually preferred the more unimaginative version of Techno over this one. But hey, I guess you can't please everybody.

I'm glad you like my made-from-scratch sprites. You're the first person who has noticed the sometimes wonky body proportions, so kudos on that. I plan to fix those sometime in the future. ;)

  • I've been spriting quite some time, so I notice these things

I personally would have put more clothes on, with clothes you can often just go wild and really add some pazzaz to characters

Although completely removing the shoes and feet and going for a more feral appearance would be very interesting I'll admit

And good to hear you're gonna keep working on improvements

Good luck, if you ever want someone to discuss things with just PM me, kay? ^^

  • (continued)

As for the designs, I was tempted to remove the gloves and shoes altogether, but since Techno's appearance had already been changed so much in every other area, I feared a backlash from the fans if I got rid of the remaining articles of clothing that made him resemble Sonic. :D

  • hey techno how did you get your

    game to play so smooth

  • For the movement engine, I relied heavily on "for loops" to check Techno's position on slopes, which allowed him to move up and down hills glitch-free. I'm not sure how to explain what "for loops" are, so I highly suggest you Google for a better explanation. :P

As for the gameplay itself , I had to set the game to deactivate all objects outside the view, to prevent any lag. ;)

  • damn it cant playit on my mac im starting to regret getting this thing!

  • Use MP3s or Oggs or something, the midis hurt mah ears.

  • Hey! Still know me? Your new game looks awesome! Keep up the good work! (which isn't too hard for someone like you)

    Greetings, Nick :P

  • Hey, thanks a lot, Nick! Glad you like the look of the new game! :)

  • I have to say, I played your original techno game and I have to say it was very entertaining! I hope this project works well for ya, and that you keep up the dream! :D

  • Thanks very much, Easier! I appreciate it!

  • i hate to say it, but I like the original techno design better. i know you changed it to make it your own, but now, he looks kinda weird. and alpha looks a little to, how should i put this, organic. these new looks just don't suit them...

  • Haha, well, you can't please everybody. :D Just out of curiosity, what did you consider "organic" about Alpha?

  • well, i don't think organic may have been the right word. what i meant to say was he doesn't look very robotic. paying closer attention to it, he actually looks kinda like a re-coloured vegeta to me. i guess i'm just used to the original design, in which beta looks like a regular mobian, and alpha looks like a badnik. seeing them so similar just throws me off. i hope that wasn't too confusing...

  • I forgot to mention he didn't charge but the the other two attacks were used at the same time and doubled.

  • Wow, It's much better than the other game! But Techno looks a little different, don't you think?

P.S: I like the font you use

  • I just battled RINO and i found this glitch where he used all his attacks at once.

  • Whoa, I've already noticed a glitch where sometimes Rino does the same attack twice (like shooting 8 spikes instead of 4, or shooting 4 lasers instead of 2), but I've never seen one where he uses all his attacks at the same time. I'll look into fixing that, Movieduke.

  • how do you make custscenes though? Flash or Timelines?

  • I primarily used the Z Key Press event and Step event for cutscenes in this game, with very little use of Timelines or Alarms. I'll PM you a tutorial I made, to help explain better. :)

  • you should make the last boss The TechnoSuperGuy so we know how you'd be as a boss ;)

  • Hehe, I actually have considered putting a "TechnoSuperguy" character in the game, but as a hidden character (much like Espio or Mecha Sonic in the first game) instead of a boss. Your idea is pretty cool though, and I might end up making a secret bonus boss like that. :)

  • lol, that's what i planon doing on my game, putting myself as ahidden character, anyways stay devoted, you've made so much progress

  • From the demo, it seems like a really nice game. The difficulty level is increased, or it's just that I really suck at the game. Either way, great job :D

  • Thank you, Porygon! Haha, yeah, the difficulty has been increased a bit this time around. With a bit of practice though, both of the currently playable levels become easy. :)

  • this looks sweet!

  • Thanks, Movieduke!

  • also i want to know when do you thim the rest of the game will be finished?

  • Wow, that's still really hard to determine, at this point. Considering how long it's taken me just to make this short demo, it will undoubtedly take me AT LEAST another full year to complete the game. In the meantime, however, updated demos should be released every few months or so. :)

  • Excuse me Techno but I can't beat Dark Sonic at the end of Techno the Hedgehog. You can't use ring shockwave. I'm out of ideas. Please help.

PS: Transformers 3DG1 was a Good Game.

  • when sonic uses the dark energy balls make techno go around sonic so they hit him.

  • Thanks Adam, glad you liked TF3DG1! To beat Dark Sonic in TtH, you have to wait until he shoots those black orbs of energy that follow Techno. Then, simply dash around Dark Sonic to lure the orbs back towards him, and he will lose health. Repeat that process about 8 times to win.

  • Very nice Techno. It's looking set to be a great game.

  • Thanks, N-pie!

  • i can tell you got pro, (note: the bird's image angle points towards the direction of Techno)

  • Yup, I've got Pro. A lot of the stuff in this game would have been impossible without it. :)

  • So you used Game Maker?

  • Yes, I use GM for all my games.

  • You should stay away from the phrase 'Programmed the engine entirely by myself' then... People (like me) Will think you actually programmed it.

  • But I did program it, Xian. Sure, Game Maker may be a lot simpler and more user-friendly than complicated coding languages like C++, but that doesn't mean it made the game for me while I sat back and relaxed. I still had to program it myself, without anyone else's help. ;)

  • while you're at the real full game

are you going to make Techno Gamma the

    final boss?

  • Haha, glad you like the jokes, Canine... or should I say, Canine's brother! :D I can't reveal anything about the final boss yet, so only time will tell who it is. ;) Sure, I'll send you a PM with a tutorial that should help you out!

  • by the way

lolz at 0:29! "Fatbutts office complex"

  • Warwormz, The Gamma Project has several references to the first game, and the events of this game take place two years after Techno the Hedgehog. Whether you consider it a true "sequel" or, as someone else put it, a "spritual successor", is your own opinion.

  • Geezaloo... this game's engine is vastly superior to that of TtH, not to mention the fact that it has better levels and gameplay. If you can sit there and insult all the hard work I've put into this game, and even claim that my old fangame is better than this simply because The Gamma Project's main character isn't a Sonic recolor, you're being a bit picky, don't you think?

  • whoa!!!

are u nutz??? this game is awesome!!

he did the sprites all by himself, made the game by himself, and made the story by himself!!!!

So this engine is superior after all!!!

    so obvious!

  • i know i just miss the old techno...i wish he would make techno the hedgehog 2 u know i think ill download the game and see 4 myself

  • I understand Warwormz1. I mean come on TSG. Youve made Techno the main character. Youve made him a hedgehog. And youve made this carry on from Techno The Hedgehog. This clearly isnt Techno 2 at all. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE :'(

    */Sarcasm*

Seriously though Warwormz1 its best to try the game before criticizing it. Give it a download and you will see that its greatly superior to its predecessor.

  • Yea u did a realy good job especialy taking in the fact that its ALL original so i give you a virtual pat on the back and an imagenary contract to sega games they could need your ideas!

  • Hey, thanks Nruto! I appreciate it!

  • seems like the kind of game you would run out to wal mart to buy, smooth animations, smooth gameplay, what more do you want

  • Wow, thanks very much for the compliment, ItIshMeh! I'm happy you like the graphics and gameplay!

  • Hey nice job looks fun! but i was wondering ifu could help me...i want to be able to make my own game like this or your other one... please help me...i will give credit 2 u. i just need 2 know what prgram u used...please help...

  • Hey, another game. I look forward to playing it when I get home. ^^

  • Thanks, HyperTails! Hope you enjoy it when you get to play!

  • thx for the personal.

this game rox a lot man!

i miss out on a lot of stuff because of my road trip back to bc.

AWESOME GAME!! i wonder who Techno Gamma is...

well thats for me to find out! ~canine's bro. =D

  • Thanks for the kind words, Canine! Hehe, the story of "Gamma" won't be revealed until a lot later in the game, so you'll have to wait and see what happens... :D

  • just to let you know

I'm only a beginner at making games. =(

well, the bro of Canine is (which is me)

I'm only an 11 year old brother, so could you

P.M. me for the instructions on how to make a

    shooter game?

  • can you play the demo

  • never mind

  • Sweet, its been months since ive heard from you lolz

  • lol, it sure has been a a while, HyperSonic! Hope you like the game. :)

  • What cheats are there?

  • One cheat, which Corphish129 has discovered but I have not yet released the cheat code for, is Infinite Ultra Energy (so you can use as many Green Shockwaves as you want or stay in Ultra form as long as you want). There are three other cheats, but I'm not going to reveal what they are yet. :)

  • lol... i'm downloading this for sure

    nice trailer

are u a game designer or is it just a fan rpoyect? :o

  • Thanks Qaz, hope you like the game! No, this isn't a fan project; it's a 100% original game I've been working on for several months by myself. EVERYTHING in the game was made by me. :D

  • *DOWNLOADS*

  • Haha, hope you enjoy it, Sonrique!

  • I CAN'T STINKIN' WAIT!!!!

  • This looks really cool! Thank you for sending me a message about it!

  • Thanks Porygon, glad you like the looks of it! :)

  • gonna play it right now

  • Great, hope ya like it, Bakugan!

  • yeah graet job it's AWESOME!!!!

  • Thanks a lot, Bakugan! Glad you liked it!

  • AWESOME!

  • Thanks a lot, Mlb!

  • Your welcome, Lol you should make a enemy and boss AI tutorial! Lot's of people have trouble with that.

  • True, enemies and bosses are two of the biggest things people tend to need help with. It probably would be a good idea to make a tutorial for those someday. :)

  • Sweet! I'll try this game out later

  • Cool, hope you enjoy it, Josh!

  • cool!when you made the announcement of not using sonic sprites i thought it be good but this is better,i hope you and your (future)franchise gets big like nintendo and sega.

  • Thank you, Kurikazu! I'm glad you like the original sprites, and I appreciate the well-wishes! :)

  • no prob Techno, you were my friend when i started this account,i tried making a game but i failed, but during the process you cheered me on,so i returned the favor keep up the good work.

  • hey there is a cheat code section... could you tell me some cheats please. :P

  • Haha, I might release some cheats in a few weeks, but not just yet. I don't want to spoil things quite so early. lol.

  • oh and is techno beta the techno from techno the hedgehog? cause you said you were gonna recreate his look. And i think a cheat should be Play as sonic the hedgehog. Or play as eugen poolleo. You should also make a secret story line that you only unlcok after completeing techno beta and alpha gameplay. heh? heh? heeeeh?

    lol

  • Well, Beta and Alpha are technically the same characters as in TtH, but they are no longer fancharacters. Haha, sorry, but I definitely won't be making Sonic playable at any point. The whole "100% original" aspect of this game would be ruined if I did that. lol. As for Poolle, we'll see... :)

  • is it for macs?

  • No, I'm sorry mastergamers, but this game is Windows-only. Game Maker, the program I used to create it, is not compatible with Macs. :(

  • aww T_T

  • hey sense the name of the game is the gamma project is the professor trying to make a 3rd version of techno

  • Hehe, sorry, but I can't reveal Poolle's intentions just yet Quicksilver... so his exact plans are up for speculation. :D

  • oh darn :D

    oh nice demo btw

  • Thanks, Quicksilver! Glad you like it.

  • Whoa, buddy! I'm really amazed. This is great! After a year and a half, this demo turned out epic! I hope to play the full version!

  • Thank you very much, SonicChao! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

  • Its about damn time. But im going to be downloading now. Good job with this. I can already guarentee that this will be awesome.

  • Man, that was fast! I haven't even had the chance to tell anyone about this trailer yet. lol. Thanks for the kind words. :D

  • No problem man. You deserve it after all the hard work you put into this. Its truly turned out great and im looking forward to any future releases that shall come our way.

  • whoa can't wait to play it

  • Thanks Yomigame, hope you enjoy it! :)
