Drs and clinics aren't open on Sundays in the states. 2 to 10 hours is pretty normal for an American ER. They normally won't tell you how long the wait is. A quick Google search reveals that it's uncommon for a clavicle to require surgery. Most of the time, they just need a sling and rest. Propaganda at its finest. I'm not a lib, con or Canadian just not gullible.
Wow, wait till he tries going to the emergency room in the U.S., it fucking blows and costs a fortune. You still have to wait a long time, and then you get to write a check. My price for 7 stitches? $1,400.00, and that's with it being done by a P.A. and with the insurance company "discount."
@markowens75 Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
Too much B.S. in this. If you're rich, you do well in the U.S in general....and some Canadians do decide to pay and go there for some medical treatment for convenience sake. Canada doesn't keep you waiting for things that can't wait. They do make you wait if it's not a big deal.
Spotted plenty of twists and lies. If you need a doctor to give you a requisition for a test, it does NOT take years...you wait hours at an emergency room. The lady didn't lose her legs because of waiting hours for service. Someone messed up and she had a problem for a year that let to it. Could have been a doctor, could have been her. Your doctor says you need an MRI in Canada, you get one...insurance companies don't turn around and deny you. I imagine most Canadians LIKE their healthcare
To all canadians if you get very sick and want to live. Sell your homes and move to the U.S. so you can get proper health care. No more long lines and doctors telling you that if you don't "behave", you will have to leave the hospital. Yes I have been there and it is a disgusting system. The canadian government has taken your rights as a citizen to question doctors and nurses. You got two choices in canada, - agree or f**k off.
@kingdiggz Wow, you do actually believe your own bullshit?? You know, since healthcare outcomes and access to care is far better for EVERYONE in Canada.
@MadHabber93 I am a Canadian citizen; who is proud of my country. But I have experienced both systems - The U.S. "please have a seat sir and we'll be right with you" vs the Canadian "come back in ten months and if you're still alive and we'll see if we have room to fit you in" , I just appreciate the hast with the U.S. health care in dealing with severe cases. By the way using profanity, proves that you are probably too low of an intellect to understand this argument.
@kingdiggz And I have experienced both systems as well. I waited 15 hours in a Dallas ER. There was no 'please have a seat sir, I'll be right with you'. If you want to give your anecdotal story, I'll give you the countless ones of mine where I've never waited any where near that kind of time in an ER. Your whole 10 month comment is laughable at best as well. Probably why 90% of Canadians support our system.
@kingdiggz Now, for the 'haste' you claim you receive in the U.S. system, that haste has everything to do with profit. Do you think those Millions of Americans with little to no coverage get that kind of service or ANY service at all?? For my profanity, you were the one who said "agree or f**k off". At least I have the BALLS to type the word FUCK. Tell me, how has our gov't taken away our rights to question docs & nurses?? Spare me your lies and ignorance & really FUCK OFF this time.
I don't know how could anyone take this douchebag Crowder seriously. 2 years ago he was injured showboarding and had no health insurance in the USA so he went back to Canada.
Oh I see your mistake sweety, You assume that a world leader must be a king or a president.. thats so cuuute.. But seriously little girl the internet is not a safe place for little girls like you.
The occupy wall street rally was planned by communists, anarchists and the far left loons. Anyone else participating in the protests are only useful idiots being used by the left wing radicals trying to collapse the free market economy. Please do not let the radicals use you. If you want to protest govt corruption, occupy the capital.
he did not stick round? guess he was not that sick. the Canadian system seems to work like the u.s. army system. e.i. works fucking great. this lying cunt crowder.
@MadHabber93 From the ppl I've talked to, we hate our system. Certain parts of it need to be privatized. I'm sure more than 40% of Canadians would agree. And 90% of the ones waiting in Hospitals would agree as well.
@HIMYNAMEISEVAN Based on actual polls of thousands of Canadians, 85% of us have been satisfied with the care we have received, and 90% of us support our public system.
@MadHabber93 I don't care what polls tell us since you can force a response based on the specific wording of the question asked. I care to hear only from those who have visited a hospital in the last 3-5 yrs and how satisfied they were and if they want a better system. I don't want the entire system privatized, only certain parts and I certainly would like to see more private hospitals.
@HIMYNAMEISEVAN Of course you don't, as the polls don't agree with your opinion. You are entitled to your opinion, but facts are facts. RECENT polls peg Canadians satisfaction of their system over 80%. The numbers don't lie.
And privatizing 'part' of the system pulls doctors out of the public system serving the many, to the private system serving the few. That makes things better for the very few, and making it worse for the majority.
@HIMYNAMEISEVAN Again, there are two links above in the top comments of this video. Not to mention, there are more than just one showing high satisfaction rates of our system. Its not just one I'm referring to. Show me that 90% of those in hospitals that would want more private care. Sorry, but the TRUE facts are on my side. Opinion is just that...opinion.
@MadHabber93 LMAO.. are you serious.. Are you to lazy to do a simple goole search to find the names of world leaders who have medical procedures done in America?
Ok I'll help you out this time, but in the future do your own legwork.
A partial list....Danny Williams-Canada...King Abdullah-Saudi Arabia...Belinda Stronach-Canada....Robert Bourassa-Canada....
I could go on, but I'm not gonna do all of your work for you.. I would suggest that you do your own research in the future.
@intrepidorator World leader is leader of a country dufus. Danny Williams was not a world leader. He was a premier of a tiny province that went to Miami in the middle of winter, where he could recover his 12 weeks in his posh FLorida Condo. Something he could have had done in any other province in a country that PIONEERED the procedure. Stronach, again just an MP not a world leader, went to get breast reconstruction surgery. Bourassa, not a world leader, went for experiment cancer treatment.
@intrepidorator You said ALL world leaders, and you gave me one. I've done the research, those are SHIT examples. How about 1 Million Americans going abroad for treatment they couldn't afford in their own country?? Dipshit.
@intrepidorator "Deloitte Consulting estimated that 560,000 U.S. residents went abroad for care last year — and the number likely will rise to 1.6 million by 2012."
"It is estimated that 1.3 million Americans will seek medical care outside the U.S. in 2011, with 35% annual growth (Source: Deloitte)."
And learn to count dipshit, you provided 4 names, 3 of which AREN'T world leaders and are bullshit examples. And don't forget your heroin, Sarah Palin, came to Canada for care.
@MadHabber93 You are a complete fool, As I stated earlier, I am not going to do your homework for you.. I would suggest that you quit masturbating in your moms basement and learn to think for yourself.. dipshit..
@intrepidorator Again, you provided small time RICH politicians from Canada, that are SHITTY examples. Really? Your system is superior because Stronach went for breast reconstruction surgery in L.A., when she received ALL cancer treatment in Toronto? You claimed EVERY world leader comes to the U.S. for treatment, yet provided only 1 stinkin rich Arab leader. Wow.
Ignore the estimates you fucking idiot, you just can't count that high. Nice.
@MadHabber93 OK sweetheart, maybe you're too young to be on the internet.
Estimates are an easy way to lie. You aren't smart enough to see that anyone can say someting like, " We estimate that approximatey 50% of canadians will go to America for some form of healthcare during their lifetime."
I hope that you can understand that estimates are irrelevent in the face of facts. I provided facts, you provided estimates. Next time ask your mommy for permission to post a comment...ok.
@intrepidorator You provided one, just one actual world leader. And a stinkin rich one to boot. There are how many countries on this planet, and you provide ONE?? Wow.
You are a little boy and a big man's world. Good for you for trying though.
@MadHabber93 All of your information is "estimates" I supplied some names, I never claimed that it was a complete list idiot. now shut up little girl and cry in the corner.
Honestly as a Canadian our healthcare blows so bad it borders on criminal, our "free" healthcare is such a bad joke. I had a broken nose and was gushing blood everywhere I had to go and grab myself a papertowel from the bathroom cause the nurse wouldn't help it if it's still bleeding because I didn't write down if I had any blood dieseses. Wake up Canada our country blows
Piece of shit. He went to Quebec, the only place in Canada where there are problems like the ones he describe. And of course he knew that before he went there, and that things are totally different everywhere else in Canada:(
@winterstellar Really? Knew someone who died in Alberta because he needed a surgery for diabetes and was forced to wait for over a year. Cool story bro.
@winterstellar I live in ontario and its worse than what happened in his video. Not to mention Quebec gets way more money for healthcare than anywhere else and is the most socialistic province by leaps and bounds. So I'm having a hard time believing that Alberta's socialized healthcare [something they dont even want] is a shining example of your nonsense.
@DazedSpy2 Okay, I have been misinformed then. It's sad for Canada if it doesn't work properly there, but there are quite a few countries in Europe with good public healthcare systems:)
@winterstellar I'm sure its conceivable that it can work in some system. But think of context with Europe. They have mandated weeks and weeks off for family concerns, etc. Even if there healthcare gives it to everyone, all these social benefits and the healthcare itself causes not only an extremely expensive standard of living, thus hurting the economy, but it lowers work productivity. Europes declined from something like 35% of the worlds economy to 15% in the last 3-4 decades.
Health care is a complete and UTTER rip off in the states..... In a modern country people should be ASHAMED of the depravity poverty and third world living standards of many and the slip shod careless way people who actually PAY for insurance are treated.... not to mention the effectively unregulated drug companies that pay NOTHING in comparison to what they TAKE!
@TheKoteche too bad something like 80% of Americans own a fucking ipod, and 99%+ own a tv, a fridge and so on and so on. Yep, really third world out there. Sure are oppressed, even though the poor in 2011 America have all the technological advances the rich in 1970 could hardly even afford. Not to mention healthcare, while broken, is still far better than elsewhere in the west. Compare the lethality of certain conditions/diseases in america to canada and its clear the u.s is better.
@DazedSpy2 Wow! an I pod.... what is that worth? $150? More? How much does an oncologist charge PER HOUR? At what time would any reasonable person interested in profits say to themselves.... "this guy is gonna die and his family should pay for it" ? The "poor" in the 70's ? what are you on? Meth? lol..... Healthcare is fantastic either for a small amount of time or for a small percentage of the population.
@TheKoteche Your talking about poverty yet a person can afford and engage in frivolous devices for musical enjoyment. That isnt poverty you moron. Get a sense of perspective you entitled bastard.
People take the proverbial "piss" in England.... a tiny minority however.... for no matter how many times the "ad man" says it people are not all that bad on the whole..... not EVERYONE wats a free ride.... Why should I pay for a heroin addict to stay off the heroin and get thier legs replace. Why indeed..... but that is the NATURE of a responsible CARING civ.
Health care is a massive business.... and people who can should choose healthier life styles and often do and STILL end up getting "jacked" by the insurance companies that have less scruples then Mr Cowudder has brain cells.... and that is saying a lot....
@Taureg So you're saying that because he had an injury which could be considered inferior to others, that the hospital shouldn't treat him? Pathetic. You can disagree with people, but saying things like that makes you sound ignorant.
I wasted my time watching his video and can tell you not all of Canada is like this. I'm Canadian and NEVER had a problem. I do have a family so that might change things. I've lived in the US now for 12 years and guess what, I much rather have Canadian healthcare then here! My insurance cost $470 a month and they charged up my visits every time. I've never been prescribed so many pills and had so many unnecessary tests. I'd much rather pay higher taxes for Canadian healthcare.
So no mistakes happen in the privatised health care system of America? People do not lose out because of insurance companies dictating treatment based on coverage levels? People obviously do not get sub standard care? Right? Come on! You are intelligent guy. Health care in the 21c should be a human right. "most canadians don't like the health care system" okay... Prove that. I live in England. Pay higher tax and have an EXCELLENT health care system.
@TheKoteche I don't know what sort of jacked up reality you live in, but the fact of the matter is, the Health Care System is a BUSINESS. Health Care is neither a right, nor a privilege. It is a responsibility. Something that this generation has apparently forgotten. Everybody points fingers nowadays. I agree that in some cases, somebody should be given a lifesaving operation, but how many times could said person bought HC and CHOSE not to? I dunno bout England, but that's common in the US
Oh this is comic gold! The only example he provides is of a woman who voluntarily decided to wait for treatment, based on a self diagnostic, and wanting more serious patients to be treated before she does! Hell, if I didn't want to go see my doctor, I could wait a year as well!
Oh, and blood testing is obviously not walk-in. It's not exactly cheap to be diagnosing everyone's blood whenever they wanted it diagnosed. Only when it is deemed crucial is there a need for a blood test.
Dear Americans i live in Germany , obama is not popular here but 100% more liked the gorge bush and with his new control of the war , killing osama, helping Israel and the S.T.A.R sct and keeping pressure on north Korea from making a nuclear bomb and the fact he can speak amazingly i don't get why hes so criticized i don't mean on his polices i mean on obama himself , in Germany that's consider a hate crime and is illegal for both government and civilian as its causes war
@moneyjr1122 things like calling obama a terrorist , showing him hanging, comparing him to a monkey, having him dress like a sunni muslim, saying hes not American .. and before you make some nazi remark like most stupid American do , both my grandparents and died and almost half of my family on my father side , my father and mother fled to sweden came back 10 years after the war.. we are not Jewish .
@daPlumber702 before you make some nazi remark like most stupid American do , both my grandparents and died and almost half of my family on my father side , my father and mother fled to sweden came back 10 years after the war.. we are not Jewish .
yea when you cut 2 legs off to treat one so you don't have to deal with the other one later ..... i want to line up for that cost savings. i'm surprised walmart has not started putting procedures on sale for 9.99 there because the government will pick up the other 99.9% of the tab .... i hope my years teach me more then you have seemed to pick up in yours bro have a nice life.
@smokingsalesman WTF with the legs cut analogy? Shows you how little you know of our system. My life will be great 'bro' as I know I'll never have to worry about going in debt or getting denied by an insurance company for treatment. God bless your daughter and the socialized healthcare that didn't bankrupt you.
@MadHabber93 You didn't watch the original video .... i see you must be one of those people that follow fox around and bash it like the others don't lie except for a different side of the same coin.
@smokingsalesman Oh, you mean this cherry picked, anecdotal, bullshit video showing that you wait in Canada to be treated for a fake wrist injury?? I guess Crowder didn't have his video camera the day I waited 15 hours in a Dallas ER did he? But that would be kind of naive of me to think that my one experience would be the same for an entire nation....right?? Give me a break.
I have to say that I am yet to find anything that Steven Crowder has ever said that has any credibility whatsoever. His most egregious nonsense is that he must actually know he is cherry picking evidence, leaving out so much, simply to back up his ridiculous conclusions. His intellectual dishonesty is mind boggling, the fact that so many people seem to buy it is just outright scary, and his appearances with the international laughing stock Hannity is only to bed expected.
The Canadians are only satisfied because they haven't had it any other way. They don't know how it's like to get in to see a doctor like we can in the USA. Obama, eat sh1t!!!
@951hemet What a crock? You buy into the bullshit that we can't get in to see a doc. The vast majority of us see our family doc within 24 hours of calling them. If they happen to be busy, we can walk into ANY walk in clinic, which are all over the place, and see ANY GP in less than an hour.
How satisfied are the Millions Americans that simply forgo seeing a doctor because they aren't covered and can't afford it?
my little brother hit his head on a wall at school and the school called 911 for a small cut on his forehead. for approximately a 5 minute treatment that only consisted of applying liquid bandage on his cut we got a bill of 700 dollars! The current U.S system sucks and needs reform.
I guess Canadian healthcare isn't bad, if you don't mind waiting several hours for basic treatment.
"As reported by the Health Council of Canada, a 2010 Commonwealth survey found that 42% of Canadians waited 2 hours or more in the emergency room, vs. 29% in the U.S.; 43% waited 4 weeks or more to see a specialist, vs. 10% in the U.S."
@stevejames1012 What the U.S. data doesn't show is the wait time that many Americans wait before they can 'afford' to see that specialist. The study also doesn't show what Americans pay out for that ER visit. We know what we pay here outside of our taxes. Zip.
@MadHabber93 And how much do you pay in taxes? How about the quality of care? Why do so many Canadians come here to the US to get major surgeries and procedures?
@stevejames1012 Way pay, on average, about 3-5% more in income taxes than an American. The quality of care in Canada is excellent, and comparable to any system in the world. For many Canadians going south for care, its a myth. Look up the study, Phantoms in the Snow, which shows that very, very, little Canadians go south for care. In the meantime, 750,000 Americans went abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007. That number was predicted to go into the millions last year.
@stevejames1012 Yeah, National Pulse is a trustworthy source.
"According to the 2005 National Population Health Survey (NPHS), approximately 85% of Canadians receiving health care in the past year reported that they were satisfied with the services received [2]."
"According to a Nanos Poll, 90% of Canadians support Public Healthcare"
OK THERE YOU RIGHT WING EXTREMIST..... me being a canadian the healthcare is fast and simple....there is 3 clinics near me that offer free health care and i dont have to wait....maybe like 15 minutes or something but the wait isnt 2-10 hours.....
This guy goes to the emergency room in the middle of the day with a sore wrist and expects to not wait long. If it was a real emergency you wouldnt have to wait long. They take people in order of importance.
lol this guy is so full of shit. Did he just say that if you dont have a family doctor your screwed and it could take 2 to 3 years to get a blood test? We have walk in clinics all over the place, Anybody can go to a walk in clinic see a doctor and get a blood test and be done in less than half an hour. And most clinics are open 7 days a week.
The only people that 'flock' to the US for health care are those that have the money to do so. I'm Canadian and would never trade this system for an american-style system. 2-tier? maybe. but not one-tier private.
We're not even adopting the Canadian model of healthcare, we're adopting the one from the NHS in the UK. the one where, in the 70's, there was one doctor to every 660 patients and each patient averaged a whopping one hour per year of medical care. Even the UK is moving away from it now.
Besides, healthcare may be free for the patient, but it costs money to provide it. Prices cannot be ignored by anyone, even socialists in charge.
@stevenpaddybwoy So you tend to buy cherry picked, anecdotal stories, and concluding one busy day in one ER of an entire country must be the same for everywhere? And I vote conservative before throwing out labels.
@MadHabber93 They never said it was across the entire country YOU fabricated that lie to boost you position.I meerly asked for proof and you provided none .
@MadHabber93 They never said it was across the entire country YOU fabricated that lie to boost your position.I meerly asked for proof and you provided none .You enjoy putting words in peoples mouths???
@stevenpaddy Again, they cherry pick anecdotal stories, then paint with a broad brush and give the IMPRESSION that its what's its like across our entire nation.
Fact. 85% of Canadians are satisfied with our care
Fact. 90% of us support our system and would NEVER take a for profit, insurance run system of the U.S.
Fact. They provide misleading information and generalizations about our system while ignoring the thousands that die every year in the U.S. due to lack of access to care due to cost.
@stevenpaddybwoy Have a link for all three, but before I post them, I'm curious. If you think I'm making them up, what do YOU think the % of Canadians that are satisfied with the healthcare they have received, and % of us support it?
@MadHabber93 I live in england and our heath care is shite ,you have to que behind 1,000,000 muslims before you get seen ,of which none of them pay into to system .....YAY I LOVE IT !
@stevenpaddybwoy Don't you have private care where you can jump the que? My relatives in England, along with the vast majority of Brits, would never give up the NHS.
@MadHabber93 There you go again "along with the vast majority of Brits" ,youve got to stop throwing these statments around .People that like the NHS are people the DONT PAY INTO IT !!! Which unfortunatly is ALOT of people in uk right now .And why the fuck should i be forced to pay for NHS and then go private aswell ????
@MadHabber93 ERM well ......64% of what ???? tax payers or benifit scum ???? That a big brush your painting with there . Oh and about the "millions" of muslims that dont pay taxes ........england imports hundreds of thousands of immagrants a year from none english speaking countrys .......how many of those do you think jump straight into work considering theres no jobs and they cant speak english ???? You have zero common sense .
@stevenpaddybwoy Do you not understand polls?? Nice. Its a snapshot of the % of the population that paints a VERY accurate picture of the country as a whole you twit.
And I find it laughable about the paint with the broad brush comment when you throw out a million muslims that don't pay taxes. Spare me.
@stevenpaddybwoy Not to mention the majority, VAST majority, are still english speaking brits as well regardless of immigration. Our immigrants don't seem to have a problem learning English here, as we are in the same boat. Most of the immigrants to Canada are non-English speaking as well.
@stevejames1012 Just google the numbers I put. You can't find the link, I'd be happy to list them. For the thousands that die, google Harvard study 45,000 Americans die every year due to lack of access to care.
@007chucknorris007 Studies show that there is no difference in the quality of care. With many studies showing private for profit care has worse outcomes.
@MadHabber93 Which studies? Michael Moore's? Also when you said, "Fact. 85% of Canadians are satisfied with our care" you forgot to keep in mind that the vast majority of Canadians have never experienced truly privatized healthcare. And that in Canada people pay much more in taxes, so much more that in the U.S. it would be enough to buy your own privatized healthcare.
@007chucknorris007 I always here that stupid comment, 'well, Canadians haven't experienced privatized care". What? Are we too stupid to know if we've received excellent care or not? Spare me.
Not to mention that Canadian Doctors run PRIVATE practices and hospitals are all run privately as well. We have socialed insurance not medicine. And when looking at our tax rates, we pay on average, only a few Percent more. You add up your taxes, premiums, dedcuctibles, copays, etc. you pay WAY more.
@007chucknorris007 And I've seen Crowder's BULLSHIT, CHERY PICKED, extremely misleading video that shows one busy day in a QUebec ER. Where was Crowder when I spent 15 hours in a Dallas ER? However, I'm not naive or stupid enough to believe that one day in Dallas should paint a picture for every ER across an entire nation.
@MadHabber93 I day. PLUS you never acknowledged that the amount Canadians pay in taxes would be enough (in a U.S. style healthcare) to buy privatized healthcare.
@007chucknorris007 And the amount the average American is taxed would be enough to cover privatized healthcare as well. You have no point. Again, what we pay in taxes is far less what an American would pay in taxes, plus healthcare premiums, deductibles, copays, etc.
@MadHabber93 Yep maybe by a little, but the privatized healthcare would be much better. And I'm not just talking about the total amount that you pay in taxes, I mean the difference between what you pay in taxes and what we pay in taxes so your statement "You have no point" is completely off.
@007chucknorris007 To answer your question NO, the difference in what we pay in taxes to what you pay in taxes would NOT be enough to buy private insurance in the U.S. The average insurance for a family of four, who does not have employer sponsored care, is inbetween 16 to 20 grand. We pay a few grand more, if that, in taxes per year than the average American. The difference, we ALL get insurance and NO ONE is ever turned downed or dropped of their coverage regardless of condition.
@MadHabber93 if someone makes a Profit to provide the BEST HEALTHCARE in the WORLD "US" ... i would go to them before i would go to someone who doesn't make a profit .. cuz the one who doesn't make a profit don't give a fuck .... cuz they make no profit ... one who makes a profit cares cuz he's making money ... and thus you get the BEST Care in the world ... why do Canadians come to America to get care ?!? cuz they know their shit sucks ... and your facts are lies ...
@SupaNami A. Insurance companies making a profit DOES NOT mean better healthcare. B. Doctors in Canada get PAID to treat you, therefore your argument is useless. C. Its a myth that many Canadians go south for care. Look up the Study Phantoms in the Snow which shows why. D. Instead of saying I'm telling lies, look it up, as I can cite each and every claim I make. E. Stop speaking of a subject you clearly know FUCK all about.
@MadHabber93 why do you guys come to the us to have your kids ?!? and why do your leet class come here for care?!? ... and why all of EPIC GREAT Canadian movie star's come here ... and stay here in the US ... for their Care ?!? .... what about the Danny Millions' Williams heads south for heart surgery ?!? the deputy premier ... comes to the US ... why would they do that if not poor and long wait's in Canada?
@SupaNami Where to I begin. First off, great sentence structure and spelling. "why do your leet class come here for care?" WTF??? I'm assuming you mean, why does your elite class come here (the U.S.) for care? Again, they don't. Very little number of Canadians go south for care. Read the study Phantoms in Snow which call Canadians going south for care a MYTH. Its a tip with no iceburg. Yet 750,000 Americans went abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007.
@SupaNami For kids being born in the U.S. Again, there have been very, very few that have, and when you compare those that have to those that were born here, it doesn't even calculate to a measureable percentage. While when looking at infant mortality rates, Canada's is far lower. Fail again.
For movie stars, they go to the U.S. to work in HOLLYWOOD sunshine, since that's where the industry is. They DON'T go for the healthcare. Fail again.
@MadHabber93 Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams will undergo heart surgery later this week in the United States.
Deputy premier Kathy Dunderdale confirmed the treatment at a news conference Tuesday, but would not reveal the location of the operation or how it would be paid for.
“He has gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done,” said Ms. Dunderdale, who will become acting premier while Mr. Williams is away for three to 12 weeks. - But Your Premier fails also right?
@smokingsalesman THat was from 2 years ago first off. ANd here's a few things you clearly don't know about. FIrst, Williams is stinking rich and can afford to go to a doc that probably does more of these procedures than any other surgeons, that being Mitral valve replacement heart surgery. Two, that procedure was pioneered in Canada in Toronto & Winnipeg. Three, it wasn't available in his small province, but is in numerous cities across Canada with little to no wait time. con'td
@smokingsalesman Four. He decided to go ALL the way to Miami vs. say New York or Maine, which is FAR close to Newfoundland than Miami...does that mean surgeons their suck?? Five. He went in the middle of winter and he owns a Condo near the hospital he went to. SO let's see, fly to Miami where you can afford the thousands to have the surgery done, and stay in your posh Florida Condo for the 12 week recovery time or have it done in Canada but stay in a hotel in mid February? Cont'd
@smokingsalesman Cont'd...I'd worry about the MILLIONS of Americans that can't afford that procedure than one rich Canadian politician that flew thousands of miles to get done in Miami. So, yes, that's a fail on your part.
How about the 750,000 regular Americans that had to go abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007, with that number predicted to go well over a million in 2010?
@MadHabber93 yea yea .... he came here skippy that's the point get over yourself and i saw you say 1000s of people from Americas hat (Canada) loooooooove there system but wow your the only one here talking about it kid. The idea of socialized medicine is great dude so is the idea free education, BUT the practical application has always and will always fail. The governments who run said programs are corrupt and untouchable at least you can sue or find some recourse with private run facility.
@smokingsalesman Kid? I'm older than you sunshine. And we don't have socialized healthcare, we have socialized insurance. Doctor and hospitals in Canada are all privately run. We can also sue here.
Please spare me your ignorance.
Yeah, he went there, one little politician out of countless ones means fuck all. But thousands of Americans going to places like India and Thailand for healthcare means everything. And Canada too. Best to research a bit before posting. Thanks again though.
@MadHabber93 To bad to think your that old and that hard headed. Anyways the bill was 300 thousand dollars and some change and medicaid picked that up for us ..... i only had to pay 187 bucks. That's 1 hundred and 87 dollars not 300 thousand..... but yea that isn't good for you to know is it because that docent back up all the bullshit that said America is a big bad bully who's population is dieing with no healthcare now does it?
@smokingsalesman So you are replying back to me saying you were covered by socialized healthcare?
In our system, your daughter (i have a son the same age) would get the exact same care, from the exact same trained docs, with the exact same outcome with no bill as well. And we don't have a 10 grand debt from either one of our kids. That's the point. You proved it as Medicare came through for YOU, but not for ALL.
@MadHabber93 No , kind of narrow minded of you there skippy . ONE more time , Your point is our system sucks because its not socialized and that yours is all mighty because it is ... my point is YOU are wrong. People are not lacking here in America , and if you CAN pay for it , well then you do but if you cant THEY will help you and my very first post said i thought the idea was great ... your just some kinda weird healthcare nazi that refuses to see America is good also.
@smokingsalesman It seems to me you are the narrowed minded one there Jiffy.
I never said American wasn't good, you are just blind to the fact that MIllions of Americans forgo treatment that they can't afford to pay for, or go into debt to get it, or go bankrupt. That NEVER happens here, that's THE POINT!!. Not everyone gets covered through medicaide. You know that. While EVERYONE gets covered in our system, at a far lower cost.
Lol you call it aboot we call it about , do you understand what i'm saying there skippy. You can dress it up with any pretty bow you want .... at the end of the day your GOVERNMENT pays the bills -- Socialized medicine is a term used to describe a system for providing medical and hospital care for all at a nominal cost by means of government regulation of health services and subsidies derived from taxation. Explain to me how that's not Canada?
@smokingsalesman No,, you are programmed to think we call it aboot. The vast majority of us don't say it that away Jiffy.
Socialized medicine has doctors employed by the State. Doctors in Canada own and operate their own practice. That would be the same as me saying that your system is mostly a For profit, insurance run system. Since the Insurance companies pays the bills in the U.S.,......well, most of the time they do.
@MadHabber93 lol i didn't say they don't run it .... that was not the argument stop running. Don't blame me for the definition .... "blame Canada" according to south park. no but really that's the definition and that's how it works there. As a matter of point because of medicaid and medicare you cant say that America docent have a form of socialized care already .... Those are doing great .... oh wait no there both bankrupt and being run into the ground.... Lets do more of that ... Yea
@smokingsalesman If they were bankrupt, they wouldn't still be running now would they?
And yes, I agree, medicare and medicaide is a decent form of care. The point is, your system leaves millions that don't qualify for medicaide and can't afford insurance. That's a good thing? I'm not debating if American healthcare is excellent, it is. So is Canadian healthcare. Its the access to that care that's important.
@MadHabber93 As it stands there guy that docent know real life let me explain to you REAL life. My daughter is 3 years old and has a pace maker. We are in what would be considered the " lower income" bracket meaning we cant afford standard healthcare we were going to be in dept 10 grand over her birth. Well when she was born her feet were odd color and the Dr got worried .... well long story shortened she had Transposition of the Great Arteries and needed heart surgery. Cont
@SupaNami For Danny Williams. A super rich premier from the sparsely populated province of Newfoundland decided to fly all the way to Miami, in the middle of winter, where he could spend his 12 week recovery in his posh condo there vs. going to a Toronto hospital and spending his recovery in a Toronto hotel. And this for a procedure that was pioneered in Canada with no wait times. I'd worry about the MILLIONS of Americans that could never afford that procedure. Fail again. Move along now.
@daPlumber702 Yes, its far more accurate to get an opinion from an American than thousands upon thousands of Canadians who have Actually used the system. Just sayin.
@MadHabber93 Fool. Polls such as the ones you're picking info from (your numbers are off btw) go off of the opinions of a few hundred people, and that number is normally high. So in other words buck-o.. you're "just sayin' " something that has nothing to do with what I said.
@daPlumber702 Actually a FOOL is someone who claims its from polls of a few hundred people. I can quote a number of polls both federally and provincially totally thousands of Canadians giving similar numbers. That being over 80% are satisfied with the care they have received in our system. Your 'opinion' that polls don't work, is that, OPINION. Failing is continuing to believe they have no validity. Failing is not providing counter evidence otherwise. Thanks for coming out though.

@daPlumber702 At least you have the balls to finally admit your ignorance. Knowing its half the battle. Good for you. Now excuse me, I have to live a life knowing that I'll never have to worry if I get ill and how I would pay the bill or the skyrocketing premium, or the deductible or the copay or whether I'll be denied payment by the insurance company that cares only about their profit and not my well being. Yeah, sign me up for that system.
@davidcutting 85% is terrible? How many products or services have satisfaction rates over 85%? Hell, even a Ferrari doesn't have 100% of the people that like it. No system is perfect.
Yeah right I didn't see that coming. Exactly where you belong. Only relevant question : how much did R. Murdoch's minions pay you to utter such lies? If you weren't paid, man ... you've been f***ed and you're even dumber than I thought. Btw, americans have been raised with their perfect system and guess what? They don't like it either ...

They do make you wait if it's not a big deal.
newguy33X 3 weeks ago

You got two choices in canada, - agree or f**k off.
kingdiggz 3 weeks ago
@kingdiggz Wow, you do actually believe your own bullshit?? You know, since healthcare outcomes and access to care is far better for EVERYONE in Canada.
Oh yeah, on behalf of all Canadians, FUCK OFF!!

By the way using profanity, proves that you are probably too low of an intellect to understand this argument.
kingdiggz 2 weeks ago
@kingdiggz And I have experienced both systems as well. I waited 15 hours in a Dallas ER. There was no 'please have a seat sir, I'll be right with you'. If you want to give your anecdotal story, I'll give you the countless ones of mine where I've never waited any where near that kind of time in an ER. Your whole 10 month comment is laughable at best as well. Probably why 90% of Canadians support our system.
MadHabber93 2 weeks ago
@kingdiggz Now, for the 'haste' you claim you receive in the U.S. system, that haste has everything to do with profit. Do you think those Millions of Americans with little to no coverage get that kind of service or ANY service at all?? For my profanity, you were the one who said "agree or f**k off". At least I have the BALLS to type the word FUCK. Tell me, how has our gov't taken away our rights to question docs & nurses?? Spare me your lies and ignorance & really FUCK OFF this time.

MadHabber93 3 weeks ago
@MadHabber93 From the ppl I've talked to, we hate our system. Certain parts of it need to be privatized. I'm sure more than 40% of Canadians would agree. And 90% of the ones waiting in Hospitals would agree as well.
HIMYNAMEISEVAN 3 weeks ago
@HIMYNAMEISEVAN Based on actual polls of thousands of Canadians, 85% of us have been satisfied with the care we have received, and 90% of us support our public system.
I have links to back up my numbers. Do you??
MadHabber93 3 weeks ago
@MadHabber93 I don't care what polls tell us since you can force a response based on the specific wording of the question asked. I care to hear only from those who have visited a hospital in the last 3-5 yrs and how satisfied they were and if they want a better system. I don't want the entire system privatized, only certain parts and I certainly would like to see more private hospitals.
HIMYNAMEISEVAN 3 weeks ago
@HIMYNAMEISEVAN Of course you don't, as the polls don't agree with your opinion. You are entitled to your opinion, but facts are facts. RECENT polls peg Canadians satisfaction of their system over 80%. The numbers don't lie.
And privatizing 'part' of the system pulls doctors out of the public system serving the many, to the private system serving the few. That makes things better for the very few, and making it worse for the majority.
MadHabber93 3 weeks ago
@MadHabber93 I would like to see those polls. Send me a link and I'll take a look.

I would suggest that you do your own research in the future.
intrepidorator 3 weeks ago
@intrepidorator World leader is leader of a country dufus. Danny Williams was not a world leader. He was a premier of a tiny province that went to Miami in the middle of winter, where he could recover his 12 weeks in his posh FLorida Condo. Something he could have had done in any other province in a country that PIONEERED the procedure. Stronach, again just an MP not a world leader, went to get breast reconstruction surgery. Bourassa, not a world leader, went for experiment cancer treatment.
MadHabber93 3 weeks ago
@intrepidorator You said ALL world leaders, and you gave me one. I've done the research, those are SHIT examples. How about 1 Million Americans going abroad for treatment they couldn't afford in their own country?? Dipshit.

@MadHabber93 Dumbass, I provided names of 5, you haven't provided any names, so shut up or provide the names of the 1 million.
intrepidorator 3 weeks ago
@intrepidorator "Deloitte Consulting estimated that 560,000 U.S. residents went abroad for care last year — and the number likely will rise to 1.6 million by 2012."
"It is estimated that 1.3 million Americans will seek medical care outside the U.S. in 2011, with 35% annual growth (Source: Deloitte)."
And learn to count dipshit, you provided 4 names, 3 of which AREN'T world leaders and are bullshit examples. And don't forget your heroin, Sarah Palin, came to Canada for care.
Dumbass!!!

Nice.
Bwhahahahahahahahaha Move along little one.
MadHabber93 3 weeks ago
@MadHabber93 OK sweetheart, maybe you're too young to be on the internet.
Estimates are an easy way to lie. You aren't smart enough to see that anyone can say someting like, " We estimate that approximatey 50% of canadians will go to America for some form of healthcare during their lifetime."
I hope that you can understand that estimates are irrelevent in the face of facts. I provided facts, you provided estimates. Next time ask your mommy for permission to post a comment...ok.
intrepidorator 3 weeks ago

@DazedSpy2 Okay, I have been misinformed then. It's sad for Canada if it doesn't work properly there, but there are quite a few countries in Europe with good public healthcare systems:)
winterstellar 1 month ago
@winterstellar I'm sure its conceivable that it can work in some system. But think of context with Europe. They have mandated weeks and weeks off for family concerns, etc. Even if there healthcare gives it to everyone, all these social benefits and the healthcare itself causes not only an extremely expensive standard of living, thus hurting the economy, but it lowers work productivity. Europes declined from something like 35% of the worlds economy to 15% in the last 3-4 decades.

Health care is a complete and UTTER rip off in the states..... Oh, and blood testing is obviously not walk-in. It's not exactly cheap to be diagnosing everyone's blood whenever they wanted it diagnosed. Only when it is deemed crucial is there a need for a blood test.

my little brother hit his head on a wall at school and the school called 911 for a small cut on his forehead. for approximately a 5 minute treatment that only consisted of applying liquid bandage on his cut we got a bill of 700 dollars! The current U.S system sucks and needs reform.
tuzobarca 4 months ago
I guess Canadian healthcare isn't bad, if you don't mind waiting several hours for basic treatment.
"As reported by the Health Council of Canada, a 2010 Commonwealth survey found that 42% of Canadians waited 2 hours or more in the emergency room, vs. 29% in the U.S.; 43% waited 4 weeks or more to see a specialist, vs. 10% in the U.S."
stevejames1012 4 months ago
@stevejames1012 What the U.S. data doesn't show is the wait time that many Americans wait before they can 'afford' to see that specialist. The study also doesn't show what Americans pay out for that ER visit. We know what we pay here outside of our taxes. Zip.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 And how much do you pay in taxes? How about the quality of care? Why do so many Canadians come here to the US to get major surgeries and procedures?
stevejames1012 4 months ago
@stevejames1012 Way pay, on average, about 3-5% more in income taxes than an American. The quality of care in Canada is excellent, and comparable to any system in the world. For many Canadians going south for care, its a myth. Look up the study, Phantoms in the Snow, which shows that very, very, little Canadians go south for care. In the meantime, 750,000 Americans went abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007. That number was predicted to go into the millions last year.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
After a google search, here's what I found on the national scene (dot) com
"The National Pulse on Health Strategy, 80 percent of Canadians want major reforms to the health care system"
"66 per cent tend to be supportive, more or less, of a host of new models of financing in order to reduce stress on the system"
stevejames1012 4 months ago
@stevejames1012 Yeah, National Pulse is a trustworthy source.
"According to the 2005 National Population Health Survey (NPHS), approximately 85% of Canadians receiving health care in the past year reported that they were satisfied with the services received [2]."
"According to a Nanos Poll, 90% of Canadians support Public Healthcare"

This guy goes to the emergency room in the middle of the day with a sore wrist and expects to not wait long. If it was a real emergency you wouldnt have to wait long. They take people in order of importance.

lol this guy is so full of shit. Did he just say that if you dont have a family doctor your screwed and it could take 2 to 3 years to get a blood test? We have walk in clinics all over the place, Anybody can go to a walk in clinic see a doctor and get a blood test and be done in less than half an hour. And most clinics are open 7 days a week.
FuckThatShitBitch100 5 months ago
The only people that 'flock' to the US for health care are those that have the money to do so. I'm Canadian and would never trade this system for an american-style system. 2-tier? maybe. but not one-tier private.
SideOfLife84 5 months ago
Er. As a Canadian, I can plainly state that if the hospital is busy it can take a while. There are priorities, and a cold isn't high on the list...
However, I have never heard of someone waiting so long that it actually became a major health issue. Steven Crowder is an idiot.
Davin404 5 months ago
We're not even adopting the Canadian model of healthcare, we're adopting the one from the NHS in the UK. the one where, in the 70's, there was one doctor to every 660 patients and each patient averaged a whopping one hour per year of medical care. Even the UK is moving away from it now.
Besides, healthcare may be free for the patient, but it costs money to provide it. Prices cannot be ignored by anyone, even socialists in charge.

MadHabber93 5 months ago
@MadHabber93 There you go again "along with the vast majority of Brits" ,youve got to stop throwing these statments around .People that like the NHS are people the DONT PAY INTO IT !!! Which unfortunatly is ALOT of people in uk right now .And why the fuck should i be forced to pay for NHS and then go private aswell ????
stevenpaddybwoy 5 months ago
@stevenpaddybwoy Unlike you, any number I claim I can back up.
March, 2011
"A British Social Attitudes survey found 64% of Brits are either very or quite satisfied with the NHS."
Last time I checked, 64% is a Majority.
Can you back up the millions of Muslims that don't pay taxes in Britain??? Thought not.
MadHabber93 5 months ago

Spare me.
MadHabber93 5 months ago
@stevenpaddybwoy Not to mention the majority, VAST majority, are still english speaking brits as well regardless of immigration. Our immigrants don't seem to have a problem learning English here, as we are in the same boat. Most of the immigrants to Canada are non-English speaking as well.

@MadHabber93 Can you cite these "facts?"
stevejames1012 4 months ago
@stevejames1012 Just google the numbers I put. You can't find the link, I'd be happy to list them. For the thousands that die, google Harvard study 45,000 Americans die every year due to lack of access to care.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 Yeah but more people would have half-way decent healthcare without socialized healthcare.
007chucknorris007 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 Studies show that there is no difference in the quality of care. With many studies showing private for profit care has worse outcomes.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 Which studies? Michael Moore's? Also when you said, "Fact. 85% of Canadians are satisfied with our care" you forgot to keep in mind that the vast majority of Canadians have never experienced truly privatized healthcare. And that in Canada people pay much more in taxes, so much more that in the U.S. it would be enough to buy your own privatized healthcare.
watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw&list=FLtLVzBOvJ7MpUg9s4auoiKg&index=1
007chucknorris007 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 I always here that stupid comment, 'well, Canadians haven't experienced privatized care". What? Are we too stupid to know if we've received excellent care or not? Spare me.
Not to mention that Canadian Doctors run PRIVATE practices and hospitals are all run privately as well. We have socialed insurance not medicine. And when looking at our tax rates, we pay on average, only a few Percent more. You add up your taxes, premiums, dedcuctibles, copays, etc. you pay WAY more.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 And I've seen Crowder's BULLSHIT, CHERY PICKED, extremely misleading video that shows one busy day in a QUebec ER. Where was Crowder when I spent 15 hours in a Dallas ER? However, I'm not naive or stupid enough to believe that one day in Dallas should paint a picture for every ER across an entire nation.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 He went to four ERs.
007chucknorris007 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 It was one ER, the rest walk in clinics. Ironically, the private for profit one was closed.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 I day. PLUS you never acknowledged that the amount Canadians pay in taxes would be enough (in a U.S. style healthcare) to buy privatized healthcare.
007chucknorris007 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 And the amount the average American is taxed would be enough to cover privatized healthcare as well. You have no point. Again, what we pay in taxes is far less what an American would pay in taxes, plus healthcare premiums, deductibles, copays, etc.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 Yep maybe by a little, but the privatized healthcare would be much better. And I'm not just talking about the total amount that you pay in taxes, I mean the difference between what you pay in taxes and what we pay in taxes so your statement "You have no point" is completely off.
007chucknorris007 4 months ago
@007chucknorris007 To answer your question NO, the difference in what we pay in taxes to what you pay in taxes would NOT be enough to buy private insurance in the U.S. The average insurance for a family of four, who does not have employer sponsored care, is inbetween 16 to 20 grand. We pay a few grand more, if that, in taxes per year than the average American. The difference, we ALL get insurance and NO ONE is ever turned downed or dropped of their coverage regardless of condition.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 if someone makes a Profit to provide the BEST HEALTHCARE in the WORLD "US" ... i would go to them before i would go to someone who doesn't make a profit .. cuz the one who doesn't make a profit don't give a fuck .... cuz they make no profit ... one who makes a profit cares cuz he's making money ... and thus you get the BEST Care in the world ... why do Canadians come to America to get care ?!? cuz they know their shit sucks ... and your facts are lies ...
SupaNami 4 months ago
@SupaNami A. Insurance companies making a profit DOES NOT mean better healthcare. B. Doctors in Canada get PAID to treat you, therefore your argument is useless. C. Its a myth that many Canadians go south for care. Look up the Study Phantoms in the Snow which shows why. D. Instead of saying I'm telling lies, look it up, as I can cite each and every claim I make. E. Stop speaking of a subject you clearly know FUCK all about.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 why do you guys come to the us to have your kids ?!? and why do your leet class come here for care?!? ... and why all of EPIC GREAT Canadian movie star's come here ... and stay here in the US ... for their Care ?!? .... what about the Danny Millions' Williams heads south for heart surgery ?!? the deputy premier ... comes to the US ... why would they do that if not poor and long wait's in Canada?
SupaNami 4 months ago
@SupaNami Where to I begin. First off, great sentence structure and spelling. "why do your leet class come here for care?" WTF??? I'm assuming you mean, why does your elite class come here (the U.S.) for care? Again, they don't. Very little number of Canadians go south for care. Read the study Phantoms in Snow which call Canadians going south for care a MYTH. Its a tip with no iceburg. Yet 750,000 Americans went abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@SupaNami For kids being born in the U.S. Again, there have been very, very few that have, and when you compare those that have to those that were born here, it doesn't even calculate to a measureable percentage. While when looking at infant mortality rates, Canada's is far lower. Fail again.
For movie stars, they go to the U.S. to work in HOLLYWOOD sunshine, since that's where the industry is. They DON'T go for the healthcare. Fail again.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams will undergo heart surgery later this week in the United States.
Deputy premier Kathy Dunderdale confirmed the treatment at a news conference Tuesday, but would not reveal the location of the operation or how it would be paid for.
“He has gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done,” said Ms. Dunderdale, who will become acting premier while Mr. Williams is away for three to 12 weeks. - But Your Premier fails also right?
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman THat was from 2 years ago first off. ANd here's a few things you clearly don't know about. FIrst, Williams is stinking rich and can afford to go to a doc that probably does more of these procedures than any other surgeons, that being Mitral valve replacement heart surgery. Two, that procedure was pioneered in Canada in Toronto & Winnipeg. Three, it wasn't available in his small province, but is in numerous cities across Canada with little to no wait time. con'td
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman Four. He decided to go ALL the way to Miami vs. say New York or Maine, which is FAR close to Newfoundland than Miami...does that mean surgeons their suck?? Five. He went in the middle of winter and he owns a Condo near the hospital he went to. SO let's see, fly to Miami where you can afford the thousands to have the surgery done, and stay in your posh Florida Condo for the 12 week recovery time or have it done in Canada but stay in a hotel in mid February? Cont'd
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman Cont'd...I'd worry about the MILLIONS of Americans that can't afford that procedure than one rich Canadian politician that flew thousands of miles to get done in Miami. So, yes, that's a fail on your part.
How about the 750,000 regular Americans that had to go abroad for care they couldn't afford at home in 2007, with that number predicted to go well over a million in 2010?
Thanks for coming out.

The governments who run said programs are corrupt and untouchable at least you can sue or find some recourse with private run facility.
smokingsalesman 4 months ago

That's 1 hundred and 87 dollars not 300 thousand..... but yea that isn't good for you to know is it because that docent back up all the bullshit that said America is a big bad bully who's population is dieing with no healthcare now does it?
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman So you are replying back to me saying you were covered by socialized healthcare?
In our system, your daughter (i have a son the same age) would get the exact same care, from the exact same trained docs, with the exact same outcome with no bill as well. And we don't have a 10 grand debt from either one of our kids. That's the point. You proved it as Medicare came through for YOU, but not for ALL.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 No , kind of narrow minded of you there skippy . ONE more time , Your point is our system sucks because its not socialized and that yours is all mighty because it is ... my point is YOU are wrong. People are not lacking here in America , and if you CAN pay for it , well then you do but if you cant THEY will help you and my very first post said i thought the idea was great ... your just some kinda weird healthcare nazi that refuses to see America is good also.
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman It seems to me you are the narrowed minded one there Jiffy.
I never said American wasn't good, you are just blind to the fact that MIllions of Americans forgo treatment that they can't afford to pay for, or go into debt to get it, or go bankrupt. That NEVER happens here, that's THE POINT!!. Not everyone gets covered through medicaide. You know that. While EVERYONE gets covered in our system, at a far lower cost.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
Lol you call it aboot we call it about , do you understand what i'm saying there skippy. You can dress it up with any pretty bow you want .... at the end of the day your GOVERNMENT pays the bills -- Socialized medicine is a term used to describe a system for providing medical and hospital care for all at a nominal cost by means of government regulation of health services and subsidies derived from taxation. Explain to me how that's not Canada?
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman No,, you are programmed to think we call it aboot. The vast majority of us don't say it that away Jiffy.
Socialized medicine has doctors employed by the State. Doctors in Canada own and operate their own practice. That would be the same as me saying that your system is mostly a For profit, insurance run system. Since the Insurance companies pays the bills in the U.S.,......well, most of the time they do.
You're the one who doesn't understand.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 lol i didn't say they don't run it .... that was not the argument stop running. Don't blame me for the definition .... "blame Canada" according to south park. no but really that's the definition and that's how it works there. As a matter of point because of medicaid and medicare you cant say that America docent have a form of socialized care already .... Those are doing great .... oh wait no there both bankrupt and being run into the ground.... Lets do more of that ... Yea
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@smokingsalesman If they were bankrupt, they wouldn't still be running now would they?
And yes, I agree, medicare and medicaide is a decent form of care. The point is, your system leaves millions that don't qualify for medicaide and can't afford insurance. That's a good thing? I'm not debating if American healthcare is excellent, it is. So is Canadian healthcare. Its the access to that care that's important.
MadHabber93 4 months ago
@MadHabber93 As it stands there guy that docent know real life let me explain to you REAL life. My daughter is 3 years old and has a pace maker. We are in what would be considered the " lower income" bracket meaning we cant afford standard healthcare we were going to be in dept 10 grand over her birth. Well when she was born her feet were odd color and the Dr got worried .... well long story shortened she had Transposition of the Great Arteries and needed heart surgery. Cont
smokingsalesman 4 months ago
@SupaNami For Danny Williams. A super rich premier from the sparsely populated province of Newfoundland decided to fly all the way to Miami, in the middle of winter, where he could spend his 12 week recovery in his posh condo there vs. going to a Toronto hospital and spending his recovery in a Toronto hotel. And this for a procedure that was pioneered in Canada with no wait times. I'd worry about the MILLIONS of Americans that could never afford that procedure. Fail again. Move along now.
