This academy looks like a scam... They ask for all the money up front, before you enter the school, put directly into their bank account. When i googled the address listed, it was for the train station. They also don't offer refunds for any reason. I'm not saying that it is a scam, but it looks very suspicious.
@buddy2000529 It's not ;) My boyfriend is training over there and I did visit the school last week during my holidays.. I understand that it looks like a scam but it's really a great school at a beautiful place
your chin may not touch the spears when you bend it. So if you like to practice real do it then with real sharp spears. This one don't have even a point!
i think its the practice of focusing your body and being impervious. maybe its helpful if your getting stabbed in the neck? or you want to guide your qi
Actually the technique is called "Iron Shirt" and it revolves around gathering energy "qi" onto your body and aplying it to harden it and minimise the damage received. This is the Wudang philosophy.
Shaolin use it for the exact oposit, hardening the body for maximum damage and with minimum "recoil" as possible, ence you see them hiting sand while training.
Shaolin train in gathering "Qi" as well, the neck is one of the few parts of the body that will never get hard no matter how many times you create impact on it. "qi gong" was started in Shaolin after all.
Chinese spears have a certain degree of elasticity; they bend, yet they resist with aalot of force to righten themselves. I see what you mean EKO, but with a well made spear (which I'm sure is the quality of Shaolin weapons) it will deliver a lot, a lot of force to righten itself. It'd be like putting a spearhead at the end of a giant spring and try to crunch it with your throat.
Yeah your right the energy is pushed downwards instead of at his throat...but remember he has to put the initial pressure directly onto his throat in order to get the bend in the first place....after that i completely agree its not impressive, but i know for sure i wouldnt wanna do the first push in order to bend it.
i know nothin bout martial arts, but this is very interesting, ima start with forks than move up from there =D still wanna learn bout pressure points tho
Anyone who demonstrates this always bends the spear down.
What does this do? It disperses the force that the wall or whatever the spear is placed against down instead of directly into his throat.
He forces the spear down and makes the spear head flush with his neck making the spearheads flat edge press against his throat therefore not piercing his skin by creating more surface area on a flat side.
although that takes some force off, you still need iron body training to do it with spears, with blunt things you can do it without, research more on the iron body if you want
@darthaardvark I think you have no idea what you're talking about. Waste of time, my god they are learning awesome things and it's not about just posing for bored people in the internet
@JustLIkerapunzel I think you must be really bored to be reading and commenting to such an old comment, especially when you are reading it out of context

I think the tips are grasped by the clavicals, so preventing penetration.

I didn't know Wudang practiced hard qigong, I thought it was mostly practiced by the Shaolin branch.

@gamrage Wudang is just a place. They teach and practice all kinds of martial arts there, hard and soft.

Ignorance is bliss Eko, I want to see you bend a spear down with your neck even using the flat end of the spear.
