This just makes me cry. What else can I say? The song was written by Pete Seeger, a legend himself, but PPM had such a sweet spirit; this hearkens to a time when we still had hope. I miss you guys. I really miss you.
I remember singing this song in fourth grade music class. Shortly afterword we learned to play it on our recorders (flutes). Later that year one of the senior graduates from the year before was killed in Vietnam and there was a memorial assembly for him and we played this song at the assembly for the whole school; that was in 1963. There was no applause, only silence as we took our chairs again; that moment still haunts me to this day.

Still can't believe Mary is no longer with us. I saw PP&M in concert in college in 2000. It was the best concert I ever attended! Something I will never forget!
I wore out my mom's VHS of this when I was a kid growing up in the 80's. This 25th Anniversary concert is such a treat, even still today. You can see Stookey had a hard time with this one, especially on the final verse when his voice cracks. A beautiful rendition of such a sad and poignant song. As many times as I've heard it, it still brings tears to my eyes.
This is just priceless.....I've been to paradise but I've never been to me, Seasons In The Sun and this. So excrutiatingly twee its good. Where have all the young girls and soldiers gone? Maybe they got together when the soldiers were on leave.
Well Cooney, it doesn't stop for me and it hasn't stopped for any of the others who commented. I would say the problem must be your PC. I give your PC one star. Poor!
I remember when i first heard Peter Paul and Mary. I was three, in 1964. The song Blowing In The Wind was on the radio. It was not long after the Kennedy assassination. Anyway, standing there with tears in my eyes, as Mary was singing her solo. I had no idea what, how or why this was happening. But the feeling has stayed with me to this day. God bless these beautiful people and the message of hope, love and peace that they brought to the world. R.I.P. Mary And thank you.
How beautiful this is. It brought tears when I first heard it, again when we saw them perform live in Chautauqua and now that my our grandson is a Marine serving in Afghanistan, it, indeed, has special meaning. Their music
has been of conscience of our country and of the world and we are grateful for their gift of song. Shalom, Mary. We will never forget you.
I think this was taped in Nashville. I saw it on public television years ago. I always thought it was one of their best. Thanks for posting. RIP Mary we will miss you.
Growing up, my dad and I agreed on a few things - butterscotch, Fig Newtons... where we probably bonded most was on the music of Peter, Paul, and Mary. For Christmas, he'd often get one of their albums as a gift, which I'd end up hoarding in my room to listen to! I was in first grade when I first discovered them, and it thrilled him so much! Rest in Peace, Mary Travers, and say hi to my dad...
A drop of tear from my eye blessed the pillow here...oh my god

We sing this song at Girl Scout Camp now, and I'm a teenager. It inspires me to make a change in the world. I will never forget this song in my life.

Is 1.5 MB too slow to have the whole video stream without stopping? Also when it came to the end the progress dot was in the middle of the bar.

Well, since it is only you having a problem....
