I think you are nit-picking. You don' t have to burst into tears at every mention of a loss to still feel the pain of it. Come on! the interviewer is a nice guy!
who is more human, that is who has God in his spirit,,the atheist jewish interviewer, or the born again David?
David.
Why?
David truly prayed that God would help those traped and fated for death in the buildings..the intereviewer seems so nonchalant, so casual about his own brothers horrific death in tower 2.
David is alive and a real human, born again in God,,
the interviewer needs a soul search, David can help him find a life with Christ.
However, he might have changed because more than 30 years past by, but he`s "The Son of Sam", one of America`s darkest Nightmares. Who is old enough to remeber the story, can remeber the fear....
Thinking & fantasising about killing someone is natural human behaviour especially if that person hurt and upset your feelings, but obviously you don't act these out.
Serial killers do not have those kind of internal fantasies, if they did they would internally overcome the aggression and not go on to kill.
Berkowitz exhibits the classic signs of a predator. He can be charming and the most peaceful and articulate individuals you meet...and once that little feeling in his gut takes over, it all goes out the window.
As much as I would like to believe what he preaches now, if the guy ever made parole (Fat chance.) I strongly believe he'd eventually give in to his urges. He's a textbook study. Jesus Shmeesus. He's just looking for somewhere to fit in, to make him feel like he's normal.
He may possibly be a changed man, but even if he is, I don't believe he deserves to ever get out. I feel that people lose their right to freedom ever again once they've caused an immeasurable amount of pain and anguish, no matter how much they change later on. Has he asked to be released? If so, I think that would be an indication that he hasn't completely changed. If he had, he wouldn't even think of asking.
@truthdonthurt If that's the case then maybe he is a truly changed man. Maybe he's one of the very few. But do you know why he has said he doesn't want to be paroled? Is it because he realizes that he doesn't deserve freedom ever again after what he did? Is it also because he realizes that his being a changed man now can't undo or make up for what he did?
@stitchesful I don't remember the exact wording but yeah, I think it's a little of both reasons you gave. I know I saw it somewhere on the ariseandshineDOTorg website but can't remember where. I personally think he would do more for the cause of Christ where he is now. Maybe he thinks so too.
@truthdonthurt Well, if he actually said that he doesn't want to be paroled because of the reasons I gave, I suppose he really is a changed man. But, once again, that just doesn't make any difference. It would be further injustice to his victims and to their friends and families if he was ever released. He owes it to them to stay right where he is. If he realizes this, then God bless him, but don't ever release him.
You guys are crazy this guy is no diff than he used to be. I bet if you met him at the time where he killed those people he would be pretty much the same guy; Calm, well spoken, a seemingly regular nice guy just like most serial killers. They dont usually stand out as far as odd behavior. If he was to be let out he would do some sort of sick acts.
He seems to be doing well for himself. When I was incarcerated I become a stronger Jew rather than convert to any other faith. It’s pretty tough they cause they really put the pressure on Jews to convert.
We all have the instinct to kill people. Look we are all watching this. Have you asked your self why your watching this. Let me tell you we are all interested in doing it. But we don't want to go to prison. So people stop talking shit. I would my self wanted to kill some people in life but prison don't sound so good for me that is.
it's very sad that after so many years in prison the inmates are released into a world that has has long passed them by. i wonder what the governments do to ensure these inmates come out and adjust a bit more comfortably.
the British Empire destroyed countless lives when they took over other countries and called it 'colonisation'. Evil in in every single person's heart, not just the murderers'. That's why we all need forgiveness and God's mercy.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
I dont condone this guys actions for one second but i have to say, he seems a genuinaly nice guy. makes it hard to imagine that he did the things he did. I wish his victims families all the best and dont think he should be released cos of what he did, but, all the same, the way he comes across makes it hard not to think that maybe he should be freed..........weird
oh c'mon. it's not like he killed one person out of this sadness. he killed again, and again, and never would have stopped. people mess up.... they get too drunk and throw a punch or lie about taxes... they don't kill repeatedly.
i think burkowitz was just genuinely heartbroken in some way when he was doing what he was doing. He didn't torture people etc, just shot them. No its no ok and he deserves to be executed, but he was very very sad, unless you feel that way you can't know what feeling excluded can do to someone.
What? he says to the interviewer " i didn't know you'd lost a brother in 9/11" then his next comment is "i saw your brothers picture in a new york times book that was listing the people that had passed away in 9/11" ! Them damn voices!!...... I get the impression that Davids trying a little to hard to stick to his rehearsed lines.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

So even if david b is "evil' now (or "good")...the guy you see now didn't kill anyone. That was david 3.0 and he's likely david 7.0 by now. If people lived for 1 million years and on year 25 of 1000000 you kill someone horribly, then you live another 999975 years as a decent dude, then your decent. Righteous indignation is temporal and has a shelf life. Judging people:futile waste of time

@antixbush there's a huge difference between thinking of killing someone and actually doing it you know...plus not everyone has thoughts of killing strangers and if you do....well it's not very normal..
@talacastero god is a lie and weak-minded fools follow religion. who in their right mind would accept that this man is forgiven for his crimes by a magical fairy in the sky? only the foolish.
@talacastero Yes, however...this man is still a 'horrible wolf'. Ever heard of the wolf in sheeps clothing? If you're convinced he's 'rehabilitated, you're a fool.
@talacastero But why would "god" want to "change a horrible wolf to a peaceful lamb"? The christian god himself is a serial killer. Just read the bible.
Besides, this guy is a small timer. 6 people, what is that? Look at wars, those kill thousands. People cause them for power. That much worse than any silly "serial-killer."
Seems like such a nice guy.... But he'd probably kill your girlfriend in an instant if he got out! He worshiped Satan to fill a gap in his life he said back then.... Now he uses Christianity, because he feels the need to be forgiven.
