Good question...I was in subs in the US Navy....if we get a leak, we use "band-it" kits to put wooden plugs or metal seals over the leak, then secure it in place. And, we have pumps to pump out water....oh, and most important...get to the surface if it's a bad leak and get it fixed.
Just wondering, He sounds kind of like Tommy Cox. A submarine spook who sailed with Whitey Mack on U.S.S. Lapon during the cold war. He wrote several songs about Subs, including a tribute to the Kursk crew.
Ssbnman, actually, I really hate to contradict you, but when I was stationed aboard Lafayette, I had the opportunity to visit HMS Sovereign. She was so much superior to Lafayette. I can only imagine how much better the Trafalgar class is!!. Stefan=
And now theres astute, the traffies are late 1980's early 1990's boats, the astute is far more advanced still than the traffie whats more the first submarines to use touch screen computers was HMS Splendid, the first american submarine to employ this system was USS Seawolf.
its called we love anmericans! but they just can't manage to say OOOOHHHH yey you were pivotal in both world wars! its a shame I lovethe yanks but if they carryon beleiving what they see ( u571) they won't know the truth, plerase say something nice about my inevative nation, it would make a change
Unfortunatly not USA got involved in WW1 in 1917 a year later it finnished, in WW2 the americans came in only really to fight the japs in 1941, in vietnam they retreated they did what they had to do and left same with korea, and in modern day afghanistan and iraq years later the americans are still not finnished.
In desert storm and iraqi freedom the first country to go over the line was the UK my brother and also my cousin were amoung the first group of logistic regiments over the line.
In WW2 the US Army air force lost 2300 fliers over Great Britain. The 8th Air force lost almost 30,000. All we (THE US) asked only for the land necessary to bury our dead. You are young you will learn.
the brits were more active in the north atlantic, and antartica at the time ( we mapped it), we had and still have the quietest and best subs in the world, I'm just wondering if you forgot the third partner in the cold war? just curious, its a bit fucking typical of this whole forum to be honest, lets forget the greatest inventors of our time( britiain)
Anybody that's BTDT knows who did what. My sub visited Faslane once for a little soccer and a lot of beer drinking - fantastic hosts, the Royal Navy. I had a great time.
Very nice. Good music too...

Are any of these Russian subs still in use today? I understand they made some very large ships. Great looking uniforms, too.
