  • omg, this is the exact same noise my car makes! the serpentine has been replaced a month ago!

  • yep, even expensive cars needs to be maintained just as much as cheap cars.

  • This particular problem was due to the supercharger pulley being installed improperly at the AMG factory. The 2005 G55 had this issue. There was a technical bulletin released to MB dealers for the fix. It is a simple matter of installing the pulley in the correct direction.

Belt squeal issues are normally belt tension, worn belts, or unclean belts or pulleys. Sometimes it is caused by failing bearings in items like alternators or water pumps. The squeal is cause by teh belt slipping.

  • could be the condition of the belt or misalignment, between the pulleys.

  • Mine too! How do you fix this!?

  • never let belt noise go unfixed as soon as it starts to make a grinding noise at start up the pulley is going to fail very soon

  • try taking candle or a bar of soap and let the belt turn on the soap/candle, coat the belt with the candle/bar of soap.

  • did you ever figure out what this was? my car does the same

  • @ballen222 me too??
