I was a foster child when I was younger and I can remember placed with foster parents who didn't care and all that the social service workers would do was to say that I was just unhappy, and I did everything to protect my children in life and keep them as far away from the system as possible and then it happened to them, taking a child without foundation and then finding out your child is being neglected,

Thank you for your realistic description of the fostercare system. I can relate to what you said abt saving the world :-). And idd, it is important, when you enter the human care work field, not to loose ones heart or to loose heart either way. As in loosing a healthy sense of objectivity in relating to the clients as well as to one self. Acknowledging all sorts of mixed feelings and emotions, and putting them in perspective, without loosing oneself in the process. Thx.

Really? LOL. I recall only giving children back to their parents not keeping them in the system. I don't know what you are basing your information on or the laws in the state where you live, but enslaving children just isn't my thing. But if you paid attention, I worked there 10yrs. ago and only for 2 years at that. In any event, I'm sorry you had a negative experience in your life and hope you heal from it.

I truly appreciate you presenting the perspective of foster parents. There just aren't enough people like you out here to care for all of the children who truly need to the love and support of caring people in order to overcome the devistation of being removed from their homes, whether it be temporary or permanently.
