Jeff, you did an awesome job and having goals is gonna drive you father than you think. I just love flying and I love to get it up there and just sit back and have a peaceful descent. Never ever give up.....Joe Connick
BTW, I have resurrected a new Easy Star and flown many more flights after this. I actually had a great day of flying and broke two of my own goals in the same day: 1) fly over 1 mile AGL, 2) fly over 2 miles away. Great day, and the 30 minute glide back down was so peaceful. Wonderful day. See those videos on here too.
im just getting into fpv, if that happens is possible to turn off the radio and possibly the plane perform a return to home and later put radio on and land with eye view?
@migser85 Yes...sort of. Depending on the OSD you have (I'm using Eagle Tree OSD Pro), there are some limited RTH functions. In my case, the wind was blowing too hard, and the camera popped off sending the plane into a spiraling death dive, so, nothing would have saved it...but there are very good fail safe features if you don't ignore a lot of the warning signs. In this case, I chose to fly in 30+mph winds (not good), and I knew I was having problems...but I rushed it and didn't think.
I am interested in getting into FPV flying. I can tell that you are using Eagle Tree OSD Pro, but what are you using for GPS and RTH. Did you have additional modules attached? What camera did you go with? Any input would be appreciated as I am still learning before taking the dive.
LOL, I agree...but I think the prop hit the Tx and I lost video very quickly after that. I didn't even realize the pod had come loose, actually, until I reviewed the video tape later.
Why don't you get 2.4 ghz. it's much better

GPS is V3 5Hz from ET also. They have a newer version that is half the price and 10Hz. RTH is part of OSD Pro.

Best advice I ever received and live by it every time I fly r/c: take offs are optional, landings mandatory!
Same would go for full sized too ;)
Sorry to hear of the loss and hope to see you up again soon! (fellow TVflyer)

So sad. But I guess the crashes are part of why we do it. If we just want to fly safely we'd just fly simulators at home on the computer.
Although I have to say, your crash is about as close to a total loss as I've seen. My condolences.

Pffffft.
Any REAL pilot would have been able to fly with the camera stuck looking over the left wing and upside down.
