that is 80/94 heading toward lansing illinois for anyone the doesnt know what highway that is. i watched that same storm as it was heading towards community hospital we were all outside taking pics it looked like it was heading right toward the hospital but it jogged northeast at the last minute i got some bad ass pictures! got the rfd winds when it jogged north east very awesome!
omg this is what happend to me my family was driving up to wisconsin i was half asleep cuz we had 7 people in the car and i was in the bck wif my cousin and my sis!! then the radio said some bad storm waz coming our way!! we were on the highway!! we almost died!!!! i think it was on july 26 or the 27 or 28 2009!!! scary stuff dude!!!
i had to sit in my damn crosspace that day with no electricity. without elecricity no one could call me when the tornado was safe so i sat in the crosspace for 2 extra hours that i didnt have too.
obviously that tornado must've formed in a chicago suburb, not the actual city of chicago where the zip codes start with 606##, I never recall the local news reporting damage from a tornado in Chicago, Illinois.
ah i loved tht day i rember yellin at my dad to come inside whn he was on the patio nd the sirens were blaring ha we have like at least 2 tornado warings a year in chicago
thats.... not entirely true. How do you think storm chasers survive? You just go the opposite direction. Or you follow behind it. Not that hard. People just panic. Now when it's only 1/2 a mile away and you try to get to your car... then your in trouble.
Yes you can. Well maybe not in Chicago traffic and maybe not at the posted speed limit, but storm systems don't usually move all that fast. I've even outrun thunderstorms on the subway.
Ok dude. I live in chicago. This is common knowledge here. A tornado on land rarely comes near water. Visa Versa, a tornado on the water rarely goes onto land. RARELY. I saw waterspouts last year in South Haven, MI, when we were up in our lake house. The waterspouts broke up when they hit land.
I was like freaking out that day! THE DAY AFTER SCHOOL GOT OUT so everyone is like at the pool that day, including me, and i had to call my friend to tell her not to come, we're evacuated! it was scary!
Anyways, too bad they put all those goddamn walls up on the sides of the expressway over the past couple years. They totally fuck up the view of the neighborhoods and now even tornadoes!
Whoever decided to build these damn walls all over the country needs to get lynched.
the thunderstorm must have been a very fast one. at the beginning it looks very far away, and just a minute later he is directly under it. its cool how fast things move by.

I live in Wicker Park and have lived in Chicago for all of my 33 years, and not once have I ever heard the storm sirens go off except on Aug. 4 of this year. We have a huge loft with large windows that face west and south and I thought the plate glass was going to come in. Our basement flooded, but no real damage. That might have been the most severe storm I've ever witnessed.
Politics more important than a tornado? Sheesh. That's enough hot wind as it is. Maybe they need to issue a political B.S. warning?!? Wow. Scary cloud!
Dont' you hate it when you're witnessing the most catastrophic event of your life (tornado) and they aren't even TALKING about it on the radio? I saw a tornado a week ago and then the weatherman came on and said.. well guys, we may get a FEW drops of rain, but that's all. DOI.. DING

i been in chiago and i saw no tornado there at june 30th it was only sunny cloud and i am scared to go there but some times there is tornado i think i am gonna come back and i might see a tornado!
