Just wanted to let you know that I'm 6 weeks post-op for my underbite surgery (upper jaw moved forward 4mm). You were a huge inspiration and a great source of encouragement for me. It's amazing what a difference these little videos made in my decision to go through with the surgery. Thank you so much for making a difference in my life, which in this case, was quite major.
You look gorgeous! You have a bounce now to you and sultry confidence...I love it. I'm getting my surgery done in just two more days, hope it goes as well as your has!
i live in ireland and my surgeon told me my insurance covers this so i get this for free except i have to pay 4500 euro for my braces and he said he is going to do a chin reduction as well thank you insurance company.

@Hollynessss Hey (: I'm really excited for you! It's ridiculous people tease for such ridiculous rubbish, but I understand hating the way you look - totally been there mate. I'm sure you're absolutely gorgeous, but shall be so much more confident thus more attractive all round once you've been operated on. Let me know how it goes (:

@BRENDA072309 Aw thank you (: I don't know sorry how much it cost, because fortunately my parents helped me with that one (no way I could've afforded it on my own..). I think the insurance coverage wasn't great because they considered it as "elective" surgery rather than it being essential (as it's not hazardous to my health, per se). Hope that helps? \:
@Aj15051 it took a few months I believe for the swelling to go down, but it isn't absolutely completely "deflated" for maybe 4-5 months I think. Bruises weren't too visible after a couple of weeks. But then again, everyone's different!
ur welcome :)) im also 17, but mine isnt bad , my teeth just over lap, is not that noticable, unless i talk or laugh u can see it :( and its really annoying i hate my smile..lol...but they told me its a type 3, idk if you know how type 3's are, but i just wanted to say that omg! crazy beatiful smile, i love ur teeth! so amazing, so preety, :)
Wow, your smile looks awesome. I am getting surgery on March 19th, 2010 to correct a 5mm overbite. Lower jaw only. Excited to eventually get them off!
I found that I had a minor lisp before my operation, and afterwards it's disappeared (plus I got help from my singing teacher to improve it by doing some tongue-twisters, haha). My upper lip is fine in the video...so...not sure what you mean by that. Best of luck
Quite a transformation. This makes me look forward to my own orthognathic surgery. Seeing the orthodontist on Tuesday morning for my consultation appointment to get the whole thing started. =)

Jeez you probably have one of the best results i have seen thus far, I have a pretty good result and I only got my surgery done about 3 weeks ago. I still struggle with how i look sometimes. I mean somedays i think I look good and other days i feel that i look very strange. Did you ever get these feelings at all? because i think that you look pretty magnificent

I was walking home from school just now contemplating the decision to get surgery or not, and you have just made that decision for me :) Our situations are very similar - I have had five teeth taken out before, and still need to remove two more wisdom tooth. I also sing classical (well pop-opera more specifically). Thank God for your video! Geee .. 1 and 1/2 years more!

How long does it takes to recover after the surgery and do the bruises and swellingness go after 14 days or longer?

I found that I had a minor lisp before my operation, and afterwards it's disappeared (plus I got help from my singing teacher to improve it by doing some tongue-twisters, haha). My upper lip is fine in the video...so...not sure what you mean by that. Best of luck
