@TheMyNerfmaster Actually I enjoy them. It's very interesting here in Florida. You can see a black sky in one direction and turn around and see the brightly shining sun in the other direction. The storms usually don't last very long.
As I respond there's another storm nearby but no rain here yet. We're actually looking forward to getting some rain. We haven't had our normal rainy season for a long time and everything is dangerously dry.
This was a pretty good one. We had another one yesterday evening but it didn't live up to the hype on the weather reports. At least, not around here. We had a lot of lightning and some wind but not much else. Either that or I slept through it.
wow listen to that thunder!! when i arrived down there to visit on june 9th 2009 there wasn't much action. i used to love listening to the thunder at night.
@peelboy1000 Sorry it took me so long to reply. The pool is about 3 1/2 feet deep at the shallow end and 7 1/2 at the deep end. it's 15' x 30'. I love it.
Thank you for the nice comments, especially about the rain barrel. I've been working on it off and on (mostly off) for several years. Someday soon I'll finish it. I've loved it here since the moment I arrived.
well, good luck with the completion of it. I live in Canada (Ontario) where it obviously snows a lot every winter - I love using the breathtaking winter landscapes as part of my artwork! Keep up the good work!
It almost looks HD quality. With all the westerly winds last summer the storm were more of the morning variety than the usual afternoon, almost always in a typical summer in South Florida.
It's funny that I got two comments on the Florida thunderstorm today, the day I arrived in Austria with friends that I'm visiting for two weeks. I bought my house in FL from them and we hit it off so well they come back for vacation every year while I visit my children in CT and this time when they returned home I went with them. It's developed into a wonderful friendship and wait till you see the vids from Austria! Coming soon.
No. This is in Lee County. Thank you for the nice comments. Wait till you see what's coming next. I just arrived in Austria today. It's my first trip here and I'm visiting the family I bought my house in Florida from. The mountains are absolutely stupendous. Pictures don't do them justice but I'm going to try anyway.
Very nice video of the morning sun, and the eeriely dark, lightning-filled clouds off to the W, nice thunder... ..nice artistic-potterycraft on the ''rain-barrel'' and lovely pool inside the lanai.. Interestingly enough, today's the birthday of another one I know who also videotaped Tstorms form Cape Coral FL right from inside her own lanai/pool area....back in 1999 she did the videos for me. Anyways..love your video here..and please feel free to view mine..I got some beautes of Tstorms!
So good to hear from you...and I'm so glad you did get a chance to view some of my own videos....aside from some real good Tstorms....I have also recently videotaped some nice big ocean waves...only 2 miles S of where I live.... I'm sure right where you live...come May or so..you're guaranteed some real videoworthy Tstorms many times right thru Septermber..and love to see your uploads.....TYSVM for viewing some of my own videos as well....
You should visit first before moving altogether. It would be quite a change. Sweden might start looking pretty good when you meet the fire ants, scorpions, alligators and snakes, not to mention the palmetto bugs (a polite name for giant cockroaches!)
That sky would scared the hell out of me,
im terified of storms. xD.

Is this somewhere in Palm beach county? and by the way the trees make an excellent backround for the thunderstorm over the horizon.

Have you ever been here? Even with the thunderstorms, torrential rain and heat over 100 degrees the last few weeks I still love it here.
