Awesome and very inspiring. When you look at the Enterprise it makes you think about how humans will one day bulld something very much like it...I guess that is why these models are important - they challenge our imaginations...
I've got one of these MR pieces, along with the 1:350 Polar Lights A as well as the 1:350 NX, all built and lit. My favorite starship of them all is the old Matt Jeffries Connie. This is a well-done video, mikewallstreet.
The following was taken from Master Replicas STAR TREKs 40th Anniversary U.S.S. Enterprise brochure: Legendary movie model makers, Greg Jein, Mike Moore, and Steve Horch, along with STAR TREK historians and graphics artists, Mike and Denise Okuda, collaborated to provide a wealth of Enterprise knowledge.
Looking at mine it seems to be an outer cover that is frosted, an inner spinning bowl-like frosted piece with the "fins" on it that spins over a small board with LEDs.
can i buy that from you for $5,000 NO JOKE

Beautiful model! And still a far better look than that horrible "Constpation Class" that Ryan Church came up with for "Star Trek XI!"

A premium piece, I'd love one of these, so expensive though.
