  • One of my favorite songs :D and hear it live is just awesome!

  • AAAAWEEEESOMEEE-OOOOO

  • Someone needs to make an AMV for this song using clips from Final Fantasy X.... Maybe throw in a few blitzball scenes lol

  • @FunnyFishy22 placebo + cartoons aren't a good match..ever..

  • 7 people can't breath underwater

  • @deceitfulMe 8 ;P

  • I heard this song on nfs shift

  • I love this song. Awesome!

  • Fantastic song from a fantastic band. Loved Placebo since 1996 and I always will.

  • As someone who hates when bands change their sound, I really don't understand why Placebo fans don't like this album that much. It's a little power chord heavy but still has some cool guitars riffs, amazing lyrics as usual, and the new drummer definetly is talented. It still has that signature Placebo tone.

  • I`m not gay but I`d shag Brian

  • @109ecroyd lol! nice!

  • @109ecroyd well he bats for both teams so you might just be able to lol

  • @109ecroyd I´m gay and I wanna fuck Mr. Molko ..love him ;)

  • @RichardSoler1 i was writing the same thing - that part is so fresh :)

  • i saw brian n co in brixton in september, the contrast of old and new rocked, one of the best gigs iv ever been 2 so any haters out there can stick it up there fuckin asses!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amo a Placebo

  • Eu Simplismente AMO essa música ♥

  • of course brian likes what you call " their new style". that's not a new style, that's just a different face of the same band, every band changes over the years, it would be a waste of time and experience if they haven't changed too. and they will never be a band that changes just in order to stay popular

  • @hollierocker1 Thanks! have good luck too! I'm sure you'll get to see them, I mean they travel almost everywhere in the world so Scotland is probably going to be in their upcoming schedules:) oh oh and BRIAN MOLKO IS YUMYUMM. lol

Love back from Venezuela <3 :)

  • In a way I envy people who have seen them live, in the other hand I admire the fact that Placebo can have such massive shows and have so many loyal fans, I completely adore this album, every song is so special and different it's unique. I wish someday they'll come to Venezuela and that my parents let me go and have the time of my life (yes, I need my parents permission I'm 14._.)

  • i've just seen placebo live

    It was awesome:)

  • un a muty buena cancion unas de mis favoritassssssss

  • un a muty buena cancion

  • Oh God I love this song.

"Breathe underwater; I'm coming up for air."

So catchy. My family's singing it and they've never even heard the song before. XD

    Placebo, ftw. ~ <3 I swear I will one day see them live. ;___;

  • saw them live on friday, they kicked ass.

  • Placebo was changed a lot, but it was not for bad, actually I really like these new songs! Specially this, It is sticky, I can spend weeks singing the same song xD

  • Every Artist has to transformer themselves into something different. It's in our blood to reshape what we are, we can't stay the same. Placebo has just done that, and for the better! Rock on Placebo!

  • Featured video "How to hold breath underwater" haha that made me laugh

  • tnx for BU @ Exit fest!!

  • I went to placebo's concert in Colombia, and i need to say that their show is just unbelievable. Brian have such a powerful voice, and the instrumental part is just out of this planet.

  • perfect...! <3

  • They played this song @ Exit in Serbia few minutes ago :p

  • This is a fantastic song.I luv it

  • awsome

  • place bo!!! rock

  • I feel masculine when I listen to the music(s)

  • I LOVE PLACEBO

  • badass song.

  • Fuck YOU

  • thank you for posting; i miss listening to this playlist on imeem :)

  • very good song!

  • Buenísima

  • me gusta la song because er ist sehr bueno. Es Language-Kreuzung

  • esta bueno este tema me gusta!!!

  • i didnt know that much about this band untill i got need for speed nitro and i heard this song, frexx, i got you dancing and hardcore girls! i love all those song

  • ikr! this band is awesome and i just beat the game!

  • Try the songs from sleeping with ghosts or meds (both albums). While I dont mind his new stuff, I think more the previous albums have had more meaning. My oppinon, enjoy placebo...try and see them live if you get the chance...they are amazing

  • @Sneddz1 I know what you mean though this song is Placebo to me. I'm also pleasently surprised with Steve Forrest

  • @djduchesse I am so happy Mr. Forrest has risen to the challenge of becoming "THE" drummer for Placebo and not just a fill-in or replacement. Plus, Hewitt didn't leave out of ill-will or drama, they all have just grown in different directions and he wanted to forge a different path. It probably makes it easier to bring in a new member that fits well when there's not internal chaos.

  • @Sneddz1 Brian and Stefan both say this is their most "optimistic" album. I agree that not every song on BFTS is on point, but this is also their first album with input from a new drummer. Bright Lights and Julien are my faves, but now that i think about it they are the two songs that could have fit into any of Placebo's older albums.

  • nitro is an amazing game very epic daylight is good too there are no bad songs on that game

  • Booo hoooooo the songs sound different, i'm gonna go onto the songs i dont like and complain

  • wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii =D

  • I really love Placebo, some albums more than others, but i love them, but i must say honestly that this new album is completely bullshit

  • @pollitorsiones m8 indeed i completely agree with u, i miss old placebo ;/!!!

  • tro bon son serieux il dechire tro brian

    i love placebo mdr

  • Great song both on the album and live.

  • Not sure about this new album.

It sounds allright from what i've heard on youtube. It does seem to be as people say, more of the same but slightly different.

  • yep, thats placebo

  • Placebo will always be Placebo, Brian's voice is just so distinctive.

  • @Tyras612 He sounds like Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys).

  • super

  • sounds alot like Ghosts by ladytron. the two verses sound the same atleast

  • wow this is good

  • these people came to my school today..what a shame i couldnt see them:( stupid lang arts!

  • they went to your school? that's cool.

  • I'm going to the placebo concert in Stuttgart today. And im sure that it will be a perfect show. ♥

  • I was at the placebo's concert in Marseille , yesterday and I can say that it was an AMAZING show. Placebo <3

  • @miiliifeiincolouurs Et moi j'y étais pas. Quel con!

  • need that in this moment so much! THANKS BRIAN ANd PLACEBO you are safe my soul in deepest moments! sorry for my englisch but a german guy will say that placebo a part of my live is and many songs are so great that i will never miss in my live.

  • hi everybody from germany! my english is not 100% but i liste placebo from the beginning! this albun is one of the greatest things that placebo ever made! some peaople things its not the right way, but i thing every band must change a litte bit and placebos way makes me happy! in ma life goes something wrong this album makes me strong wen i hear it! more powerfull and more the good wa of living! i

  • tra-la-la-la tune? i don't know it's pure awesomeness to me. the guitar line has edge and the drums are a driving beat.

  • cut it with the acronyms. i dont know what the fuck your talking about

  • every band changes after every album its nature,

but if these changed too much it wouldnt be the same for me.

this track is a hit for me

  • Steve, not Steven. Sorry *shy*

  • BEST BAND FOREVER FOR ME

...and Steven is as great as I never expected!

  • welcome back!

  • I think this song is a way Brian found to apologize to the older fans for what placebo became since Sleeping with Ghosts..."..It's hard to reconcile,

    What I've become."....i really hope " It's the last time, I swear."

  • It's an interesting idea but I don't think Brian has anything to apologise for - even if older fans didn't like the way the band were going, it's every band's right to develop, experiment, change, reinvent themselves. It's about what the music means to them and where it takes them.

  • I was just saying that because Placebo did turn commercial! and that's not allways a bad thing...but in this case...it was...There's no way you can compare "battle for the sun" with "teenage angst" for example...I know they make more money this way, and it's their right. But I keep listening to "placebo" "without you i'm nothing" and "blackmarket music"...'cause i don't really agree that they developed...they surely reinvented themselves, no argue there, but should we change what's already good

  • Don't fix it if it ain't broken and all..

  • I know this is an old comment but I feel like I do have something to say. a)Brian has nothing to apologize for-hes grown as a person from what I can tell and he has the right to do that to his music as well. b)I believe that comparing any kind of music is useless as its impossible to be completely objective with it so comparing old Placebo to new makes no sense to me. Change is necessary sometimes, I think it would be boring both to the fans and to the band to always play the exact same tunes.

  • @MassiveMarket a) of course he doesn't, his voice changed and no one can do anything about it, but it looks to me like it actually wasn't Brian who said "let's make this album sound like this". b) I'm not comparing at the moment, but there is a reason why i own all of the previous 5 Placebo albums and can't get enough of them but didn't buy this one because i just can't stand it. It's just wrong, sounds tired and boring, like they've been forced to do it like that. Just an opinion.

  • @xxSCHNEExx They're on an indie label now, who could be forcing them? So you don't like the album, that doesn't mean it's as "wrong" as you say it is. Like I said, it's impossible to be completely objective with music. That's MY opinion. And well, it's true that Brian didn't say "let's make this album sound like this", it was a process and the entire band was involved to make it sound the way it sounds now.

  • @MassiveMarket It's your opinion and i'm not gonna try and change it but this sudden change of their style is really REALLY annoying for the fans of earlier Placebo. Now they just seem unhappy with what they're playing, all I can hear on the album is loud guitar over Brian's voice like in all rock mainstream crap. I think they just killed all that their music represented by releasing this album. If you can't see a difference that means you never knew what Placebo was about.

  • @xxSCHNEExx I can see the difference, I just apparently don't mind it as much as you do. And I know certain fans who have liked Placebo since the mid 90s who say that this is one of their best albums to date, so you can't really speak for all of the earlier Placebo fans.

  • @MassiveMarket i can understand this attitude if for someone Placebo is just a good music to listen. But there are many people like me who found hope and understanding in their songs, in their lyrics, they were like the only real thing within the world made of plastic, i could asociate my life to what they described in their lyrics and that was making me feel better, understood, not alone. So i think it's reasonable that i (and other fans like this) feel kinda betrayed now..

  • @xxSCHNEExx : I totally agree with you, I like this song as a single song but not as a placebo song. I like them for being placebo-ish and this sudden change of style is awfully disappointing. This is not the placebo I liked and still like so much, it's like a weird mask they are forced to wear in order to stay popular. And I really can see your point when you say Brialy surely didn't just say "let's make this album sound like this". I doubt he actually likes their own music for that matter.

  • @Silmarwen9 that's the truth, something changed, thay can come up with their excuse about how their music "grew up" together with them as many times as they want and i'll still not believe it. And THEY know themselves that this is just an excuse. Actually in one of the freshest interviews Brian SUGGESTED that the new album is easier to listen and therefore more people are going to understand their music. But, the thing is, their REAL music will never be understood by most people.

  • @xxSCHNEExx Well maybe other people can relate to their new songs. Just because you can't, doesn't mean anything. You can't relate to every piece of a band's music, that's absurd.

  • @lolwuthowaboutno Unfortunately the only person that I can speak for is myself, I don't know what other people think. Sorry. And I'm not talking about an individual piece of music but about the whole change that Placebo went though recently which I'm not in favour of.

  • @xxSCHNEExx me neither, but this song is certainly one of the best songs on the album..fresh and tuneful, lyric that made me have some emotions. The rest..I listen to them mostly for the vocal, the lyrics are so clean and feel artificial sometimes. But I guess Brian is not a confused little boy anymore. Good for his psyche, worse for some fans:P

  • @MassiveMarket Well, for me Placebo are as great as the were 10 years ago.....Keep it on guys!!!!!!!

  • @fabiocesardireito Any bands that gains irreverent success will be accused of going commercial. Lyrically, and conceptually they developed. Brian infused honest emotion into his songwriting and Stefan backed that with more thought out riffs.

Compare Teenage Angst to Meds, which seems more genuine?

For what it's worth (song reference pun intended), this is their most optimistic album. iIt seems fitting that it would be met with pessimism. :)

  • I'm coming up for air!

  • ••♥placebo♥••

  • I absolutely adore placebo, it's just my whole life in feelings and music, placebo remembers me my ex-something, she never was my girlfriend but we where something special, she knew that. Anyway, PLACEBO IS JUST THE PERFECTION!!!!

    LOVE YA BRIAN MOLKO

  • ♥

  • all of the songs on this album are excellent and sublime! real respects and kisses to Placebo ♥

  • This song is absolutely epic

  • I love it!

  • the end is sooo divine...

  • i love placebo miss steve hewitt, but steve forrest is amazing too!!!

  • Not really, he's a monkey spaz. Hewitt was chill.

  • TheMagiciseverywhere are you sure?? do you think it´s like nancy boy, or teenage angst??

  • This song is actually kinda similar...

  • haha cali6an i'm sorry but the new drummer is better than Steve Hewitt, this music is my favourite of the new album of Placebo

  • wouldn't say he's better than steve hewitt.......i mean i miss seeing steve, but steve forest is happy go lucky and his drumming skills, from what i can hear, are very good.

  • Don't like thnew drummer, but everything else is good :)

  • the drummer is a good kid. his drumming skills really aren't that bad at all and he seems like a very colorful, open-minded, happy person. for a new drummer he seems to handle the live gigs very well. i don't know what's not to like. i think placebo did a great job finding someone like him.

p.s. sorry for the long comment :P

  • I mean that he's not suits placebo,he's good at what he does but it's not placebo like drummin'...

  • okay i respect your opinion.

  • ur absolutely right

i saw 'm live & id say this was their drummer since they started since he had this style that really seemed to fit placebo, & was bursting full of energy & i saw an interview with someone from belgium here & he seemed to have a great positive personality. + every1 was amazed by the drumming live since he really showed what he could do every second of the show (soz for the long comment as well)

  • yeah, placebo did a great job choosing him.

  • they didnt choose him he heard they were a man down and sent them a video resume his old band toured with placebo a while ago

  • been a fan since I hear they're cover of Where Is My mind.. and then I fell in love with the band.. best band I know.. and to day this is on my mind<3

  • PLACEBO Where Is My mind cover is AMAZING , YEAH! LUV em too! though the new shit is too much for me sometimes :x u know what i mean...

  • Comment removed

  • this is pure old school placebo ROCK

  • Placebo is enough to make me stop breathing

  • Placebo are unbelievable good! I LOVE them and the new album!!

    <3

  • excellent

  • this song and 'the never ending why' are my favourites of the album

  • it's Like Placebo in 90's

  • I love this song , i went with my friends to Rock Werchter @ belgium , and they were great!

  • great song, from a Great album, from a GREAT band.

  • My favorite song from new album. This album is more similar to the old Placebo then Meds or Sleeping with Ghost and is too much better i think

  • my favorite part is the guitar part the last 15 secs of the song! :) 3:29

  • well you're the first one that i know to have said something like that, but i guess opinions are opinions.

  • Agreed. I'm disappointed with the new album. It doesn't mean I don't like them anymore. I like Julien and Breathe Underwater too. I just... miss the old Placebo.

But that's ok. Everyone have their own opinion ;)

  • When I first heared the new album, I thought: boring, without sou, disappointing.

After hearing it 5th time, I can only say: brilliant, excellent. (The same with Meds.)

    Strange..

  • when it comes to placebo you always have to listen the songs 5-6 times before you can appreciate them!i've noticed too!!

  • yeah, i think so too...and then i can't stop listening and wonder, how is it, that i didn't like it immediately...well, of course, there are songs we fell in love with at the first time, we listen to them...right? :P

  • Exactly! The first song I knew by them was My Sweet Prince and I thought it was lazy and boring. But after a few listenings I completely fell in love with it and... well, I've been a fan for two years now. :)

  • yeah, and strange is good:)

  • I love that I hate that I love that :P

  • my favorite song

  • Breathe underwater,

I'm comin' up for air! ..

  • They have changed a little direction with this album. They experiment new sounds, they are more positive and optimistic.

If you like the old placebo style this album is not for you. Try to understand that the band of 36 degrees, teenage angst, peeping tom is changed, because placebo follow an evolution line in style and sounds.

  • really so you hate speak in tongues, happy you're gone, the kings of medicine and come undone?

  • yeah this song sounds like the old placebo !

    awesome ! :)

  • Exelent, this song make me remenber "post blue" i don´t know why.

  • not placebo O.o too .. usual

  • actually this song is very much like placebo.

just search some of their old stuff like 'paycheck' or '2468' or their other song 'before you came'. this song takes me back to old placebo.

  • oh yeahhhhhhhh1h1h!!h!h!!1

  • ohhh!!!!the new album!!!!it is awesome...and this song is awesome too!!! placebo 4 ever!!!!

  • they should really play they song live.......sounds like it would be awesome.............because they're awesome and so is this song. thanks for posting.

  • indeed

  • stunning album

  • i'm not fetish to breathe underwear:-D....anyway thx for sharing;)

  • isn't it breath underWATER?

    hhahahahahaaaaa

  • Yes I believe it is! Oops :P
