  • i have set it up but it wont capture full screen it cuts out a bit of the bottom and a bit of the top. no black lines it just wont fit any1 know how to fix this

  • I have just recorded my video and now i cant find where it is?? any ideas?

  • @liambroughton500 Look in recording options. There will be a "Destination" where it saves videos to.

  • @BlazeHedgehog Thanks :) Just recorded :)

  • there seems to be a delay when I press a button (in a game) any suggestions on how to fix that?

  • @superhans8 That's a problem with your capture device. I apparently got lucky with mine so there's not a lot of delay, but most of them have some form of lag. The most common way around that is to buy a splitter that lets you output video to two devices at once - one goes to the capture card, and one goes to a TV so you can play on that lag-free.

  • where does dscaler save the video?

  • @superhans8 By default, it stores the video in the same directory as Dscaler.exe (usually in the Program Files folder in Windows). But you can also specify which folder you want it to save to if you want.

  • can u help me? the result of my recording is, that i have a file with only 6 seconds :( but i played 5 minutes

  • @DeadlyInstinct Do you have enough Hard Drive space? Did you accidentally stop recording after six seconds?

  • @BlazeHedgehog

sure i have over 800gb free space and no i didnt stop.

i tried a lot of programms, virtualdub, dscaler etc. but 1 hour ago i found windvr 3, works perfect, i only have no picture when i press record - but im going to buy a videosplitter now, than all should work fine :)

  • how do you install the filters?

  • @jajabinx70 Most of them come with install instructions, don't they? Anyway, you put the VDF files in the "plugins" folder.

  • thanks for this but what about sound codecs/compressors? it sounds like a garbled mess

  • @sonicguru I usually just leave the sound codec as Windows PCM (WAV). It makes for a larger file, but it's difficult to get a consistent MP3 codec for encoding video without paying for something.

  • After I hit stop recording nothing pops up that says where I want to sve it or where the file is going to. It just stops, where does it go?

  • @HaloStroudsburgBoy You set that up in recording options. "Destination: Save Recorded Files To..." Sorry, I kind of glossed over that a bit in the video.

  • How do u tell it to save to a certain folder

  • @Tannerg124 Pretty sure I covered that in the video. 3:59

  • I have 2 questions where do u find the video after you are done recording and why does it freeze up and not respond after a few minutes

  • @Tannerg124 You specify where the video file gets saved and I don't know why it freezes up.

  • Wow thx

  • i cannot record if virtual audio cable is playing the sound...if i try to record on dscaler i got a error message, something like "cannot open wave in"....what should i do? i want sound while im recording....

  • @RandyTheZeldaFan Try capturing through VirtualDub. File -> Start Capture. Set up video and audio compression, set up output file, and make sure "enable audio playback" is checked. If that doesn't work, I dunno what to tell you.

  • The composite comparison is also flase. That has been blurred. Mine don't look like that and i use composite, And the way that the easycap interlacing is'nt (weird) it's because an interlaced image is being displayed within a progressive source

  • @Sakotius I applied no filters or enhancements any of the comparison images. I took an HD screenshot of Braid, saved it to my HDD, and then ran it through the 360's photo viewer to capture the image in Composite and S-Video. Anything you think you see is your eyes playing tricks on you.

  • Easy way of capturing a YouTube video for Safari users on a Mac.

Open the highest resolution video available

    Press: Command Option A

Double Click the largest file in the Activity window and it will download to your Downloads Folder. This is the original flash movie that you would otherwise be looking at in your browser.

When it's downloaded, open it (the file has default name videoplayback.flv) in MPEG Streamclip or Quicktime, rename and export it in any format and size you want.

  • 1:02 i capture at 30fps and that is NOT 30. Looks more like 15

  • @Sakotius Did you see the part where it says "Playback at half speed"? 30fps at half speed is 15. It is the only way I could show a comparison between 30fps and 60fps, as Youtube does not allow 60fps video.

  • @BlazeHedgehog

My console gameplay is much sharper. Either a blur effect or bad method of de-interlacing

  • @Sakotius Interlacing doesn't do anything to still images and there's no blur effect.

  • @BlazeHedgehog

Ah, i thought you meant half of 60 ;)

  • So much easier. I cannot believe how convoluted my setup was after this.

  • Very nice. Good job dude.. I see you took the bold step to talk in this video but tbh your good at it, describing stuff in a very informative way and not too fast/slow or in a monotone way which keeps the viewer watching. All I can say is make moar!!! lol. Thumbs up!

  • "Due to poor coding on our part DScaler can crash[...]this crashing has been known to cause disk corruption."

You're recommending this to us? (or is there a different version that doesn't put that right smack-dab in the installer?)

  • @RedEchidnaVideos I am pretty sure the disk corruption happens when Dscaler crashes during recording, which, for me, hasn't happened yet. If you're worried about it, use VirtualDub for video capture - it supports it, too.

  • Thanks, my Sony RDR-GX120 doesnt like xbox so I may have to buy easy cap

  • nice video.

  • That is one badass wallpaper. Just had to say it. :D

Thanks for this video, I have always wanted to record stuff. I may not even know just how much this can help me in the future, as I'm kind of lazy about going out to buy things becides normal groceries. But, if I ever am walking in a store, and see one of these things, I will know to buy it. :D

And, also, you remind me of my Uncle Dave. I don't know, but you kind of sound like him... that doesn't mean anything, just saying.

  • Blaze, there's something you may want to know.

The original PlayStation actually was designed with S-Video in mind. Sony released official first-party S-video cables for the console at least early at it's lifetime in Japan. The proof is that the 1994 Japanese models actually contained an S-v outlet for S-v cables. SCEA actually did release such a cable too.

Same for the Sega Saturn, and oddly enough the SNES by Nintendo. I see those official first party brand cables on eBay and Play Asia.

  • @KeijiDragon Yet if you use S-Video cables with those consoles, you get those ugly color bands on every single one of them. My Broken SNES video was done using regular Composite and it's just as clear as S-Video (minus color bands) because the SNES has an output resolution of like, 256x256. You only really see the benefits of S-Video on consoles that display at 640x480 or higher.

  • HOLY CRAP :O

This is the best EasyCap video I've seen on YouTube EVAR.

    Thank you so much :3

  • very nice, this all looks alot easier then what I've been trying to do all this time, I'm gonna look for one of those Easycap USB's.

  • Hm, I could've used this a loooong time ago, but I don't record games as much as I used to anyway, but thanks for this for when I possibly do in the future.

  • Thanks bro!
