@LightSpeed99999 nah you just cho if you have to point, whether you made it yourself or the opponent made a mistake. Remember he is only 18-19 years old here, he is happy if he can make points vs a decent and experienced player like Oh sang eun. I know I would be happy.

@dividebio I dont agree, look at wang liqin he screams really at you and he always puts his fist towards his opponent when he makes the point, for me thats not really sportmanship. Screaming is very annoying but when I play vs someone who screams alot I know I will have a very difficult time mentally because it pisses me off. On high level tabletennis it pumps up the player and it annoyes your opponent so it has his benefits I guess.

Maybe he means in potential. Zhang and Xu are perhaps just as big of a talents as Ma, but at this stage Ma is way more developed and there is no doubt about his current number 1 ranking.

Oh's BH is great but his FH is pretty weak considering his size. He can deliver a more powerful FH if he wanted to...

I think it's pretty hard to deliver a strong FH with his length. Blocking isnt his strength for nothing =)

hmmmm i am not sure its his length thats the problem, I think its just his lack of quickness, and the fact that his footwork isn't good enough so that he can get in the right position to execute a powerful FH. I mean Wang Liqin, length-wise is about the same as Oh, yet Wang is considered to have the most powerful FH in the history of table tennis

Yeh true, but that's cuz Wang is (I think) more muscled than most other players around, he has the feeling to combine that with a good loop. Oh is not too quick, but he's always in the right place. That difference between him and Wang is Chinese playing style (Long movement loops) Oh's BH is unbelievably powerful. But u r right about Wang's length, with long loops, having length is mayb a more positive thing, but in Oh's and Samsonov's style, it aint.

yeah, Wang is the most fit of any table tennis player I have ever seen, he literally almost looks like Bruce Lee when he isn't wearing a shirt....

But yeah Oh's backhand is really impressive.

yeah Scylla is the multiheaded monster and Charybdis is the whirlpool both of which are the two obstacles Odysseus has to travel past in the book Odyssey by Homer. Almost everyone in either middle school or highschool in the US has to read that book in English. So when I was a kid I thought hmmm thats kind of cool, I will use it for my screenname haha

Yeah, he was really bad out of the gate this match, maybe he didn't get sleep or had jet lag, sleep deprivation slows down your reflex time about 10% and he sure looked slow in some of these games.

ummm, number one, I don't think there was the need to swear in this case.....

number 2, if the other person puts too much spin on the ball, and you hit it incorrectly, it can go into the net also. Oh hit the ball too late, and thats why it hit the net, not because it didn't have any spin. Part of the reason he hit it late, was because he didn't realize the amount of spin, there was so much spin on the ball that after it hit the table once, it spun forward and down, just like a loop.
