Re Autism being a biochemical disorder: I was told that about Epilepsy, also. Are you a Dr? That's my first question. Either way, I'm quite sure parents will do what helps their kids, not what you *think*.

If I understood correctly, and if he is in RPF, can we not focus on one high profile individual, that we know is either\or being victimised or denied basic human rights, whether he knows it or not. I think you read too much into the metaphor...
She uses it to demonstrate what her experience of 'waking up' inside Scientology was like.
It's a thematic correlation, not a philosophical allegory.
