How to play backgammon (the basics)

Is there a trick to pneumonic to remember how to set the board up for play?

@amjPeace I only play online so I never had to set up a board but if I play offline, I would remember the starting position by playing the standard opening rolls 6-5 6-1 3-1 which forces me to place correcly each of my stack opponent would be a mirror image.

There are few variations of how to play this gave and the one I could play is the best to my knowledge. I play this game for over 20 years now and it is most interesting board games. I played chess many times but this is real test for your luck and massage to your brain.

@Jenkins1155 Every game looks complicated to the beginner. Backgammon is relatively simple compared to chess or checkers because you dont have to think ahead. You move whatever the dice rolls that you get. It actually seems like a stupid game to many beginners until they play an expert that beats them every game. then they start to to get hooked.
