right now it's 230 in the morning. i'm making the effort to shift my sleeping cycle to wake up in the morning and go to the gym. i'm gonna give up sleep tonight so i can begin this workout regimen. wish me luck...
Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard, but when talent works hard, hard work doesn't stand a chance in hell? NO. Hard work works even harder until it rises above all talent.
Hey guys! Thanks for watching my video. I read the comments everyday and I just get overwhelmed that something I created has had such a positive influence on others. Just to read some of the ways this video has effected some of you guys has even made me an even harder worker and gave me the strength and belief to keep fighting. Remember guys its not the size of the dog in a fight, but the size of the fight in the dog!!!!!!!
wat pisses me off is that i work my ass off in the gym and i get through the pain but my arms give out and its not like im not tryin i lift half way and then cant do it
@amanr777 those last half reps are a bitch but trust me its more mental its not just pushing through the pain but believing you can do it it sounds like complete bull but its true
When i click on the video it asks for age verification? Why is that?
How do you guys "sustain" motivation,....for me i can read all the motivational books i want.... watch all the motivational videos on youtube...but still i would slowly loose the drive to succeed at some point..any tips?
@achuthan1988 your problem is not being able to sustain motivation, its you not having the right reason why your doing what your doing,i mean your can do anything you put your mind to,but whats going to make you really want to do it over and over what im trying to say is you fall asleep on the wheel because your mind is not really into what your doing you gotta find what really drives you..what makes waking up every morning exciting and worth fighting for.and enjoy life.good luck and God bless..
@achuthan1988 mental toughness. That's the hardest part. If you're not mentally tough you won't be able to achieve your goals. there is no trick or secret. That's what makes mental toughness so valuable
@achuthan1988 Most ppl are like that. It is good to read motivational books and watch motivational videos to STAY motivated. You are doing the right thing. Keep doing what you are doing.
okay you might get good if you do it alot.....but a guy with talent will ALWAYS beat a guy without talent no matter what anyone says....school is a living proof of that....a guy with problems learning will never catch up to a talented student nomatter if he reads 5 hours a day and the talented reads 1 hour
The speech has nothing to do with sports just the video someone chopped it and edited it to fit their video. He is an advisor at MSU. This is one of he motivational speeches. Look him up. He is Eric Thomas the HipHop preacher.
@ichuckyourface Yes i abviously know that. If you would have read my "Comments", notice that is plural, you wouldn't have anything to me. I have more then one comment about the video, so send your ignorant comment to someone like yourself who has the reading comprehension of a first grade student!
Eric Thomas the Hip Hop Preacher is this person talking. He has other videos on youtube. Check him out, he is very good at what he does. listen to the whole speech.
@tuttifruttimix It still applies to everyone though. But I think it's because most of the successful athletes now are black (for the popular sports in the U.S anyway).
people. just saying this video portray's role models. And people who take a drug to become the best they can possible be instead of actually working hard for it naturally shouldn't be role models to anyone. i seen jerry Rice in there, look at him, hardly any muscle but all hard ass work and mental toughness and technique. Same with ali, wasn't the biggest adn strongest fighter just out worked and out smarted most.
Exilent view. only negative thing I have to say about this is that some of the people that had there shirts off in here had what i like to call Roid gut. i've been in the fitness industry for twelve years now and i can spot someone who takes steroids from a mile away especially after seeing them with their shirts off. And just for you people that will try and nay say this when you take steroid not only do you muscles gain size but internal organs so also. not saying people that take them are bad
@TeamMichaelArdeno I didn't dislike it, but I could see people disliking it because of mayweather, alot of people dislike him, and think he is overrated.
It's funny... The most "How to obtain success" is told by people who do sports :P I can't "RUN" my way to success in my "area of life". I'd say, use some other people beside sportspeople to inspire others. I doubt Bill Gates ran his way to success ;)

Obviously I've ruined many peoples hopes and dreams. You guys can stop telling me about how successful you are now because of this video, I don't give a shit, what I said was a joke, don't take it so literally.
@Migliozzified He may not be talking about being a successful athlete
Hey may be talking about being a successful business man...and staying up night after night for an opportunity...So enjoy the video and stop Criticizing it
@Tezbaby10124 You can't deny that every single person in this video is a successful athlete, not a successful business man. And besides, hard work may beat talent, but talent + hard work beats all (especially with a good night's rest). Also, it was more of a joke then criticism, I am sure this video is very inspirational to most people.
@Migliozzified But he is not necessarily talking about athletes in his speech ... Some times you gotta stay up so you dont miss the oportunity to be successful
@Migliozzified it was literally "don't sleep, "it was meant not to tell you not to overindulge in sleep, because while your sleeping others are working, and getting ahead of you if don't think so ask any top of the game athlete who early he gets up.

@Migliozzified dude the guy speaking in the background was giving a speech to students. On the other hand, this guy who posted this video combined this make this great video. So before you post a comment like this make sure you research. Also, the guy making the speech never said an athlete's name. Further on, this speech was originally formed for students in college. Also Mayweather has made a good point about hard work becausde he rarely sleeps and look what he has done! Also Pacquiao!
Tomorrow--Salif Keita is the name of the song if anyone is curios and Eric Thomas is the speaker. You can hear the whole speech on Youtube..."Secret to Success Eric Thomas" and it should come up.

@briank1ne uuuhhh... he is someone special, guy is changing people's lives... who are you to say he's no one special? what have you done that makes you better than him?
@MrSoloDolo48 i think you misunderstood me...hes not famous. thats all i meant...so chill. and I heard the whole lecture. and I actually disagreed with it.
Who's the one talking in this video? I've heard this same speech in another video and I want to find out who's speech it is, could anyone help me out?
you know.. with every new age old stereotype that's presented itself to me, it's left me more and more in this deep tunnel.. I have no one by me... not a single family member, not a single 'friend' .. it's just up to me. and I have audiences talking in private about my shortcomings... about the changes I've undergone due to life's pressures but... what's a person to do...
so what happens.. when you were super driven... and you were all the great things you were ever supposed to be... and it all just goes away. "nothing happens overnight" well, what happened over a period of 3 years... waking up and seeing everything gone, not recognizing the face in the mirror is such a horrible experience that I never want to relive yet I relive it every day of my life..., & I haven't done a good thing of myself in I'm not sure how long. I'm a real failure.

you know.. with every new age old stereotype that's presented itself to me, it's left me more and more in this deep tunnel..
