Why do flames shoot out like whats the physics behind it?

@knaxon well no, not really rich. they have alittle fuel in the exhaust because of the way it works, no valves, ect. rotary engines can get anywhere from 15-30 mpg give-er-take depending on what size and whats done to the car

its still a 4 cycle engine ok . 1st takes in air an fuel,2nd compression ,3rd power ignites the air and fuel mixture, and finally 4th exhaust . so for all u guys that a confused if its a 2 or 4 cycle engine its a 4 cuz dont u put just regular gas... not mixed gas u kno gas an oil yaaa!

Actually my old 2 cycle sounded more like a rotary. I now have a 4 cycle which sounds close but not like the 2 cycle did.

@Tj1056 actually i think he is right, because it all happens at one time because there is no valves to close to keep from the exhaust to happen, it all happens in one fluid motion three times a revolution i thin, that is why it is so easy to get flames to come out of rotaries, because there is nothing to stop the flames from escaping.

the shift buzzer is actually there becouse when new the first gen rx7s were so smooth in acceleration that people would not know when to shift since it would just keep going and this is before ecu and rev limiters...and the tradition just kept going..

yea the only issue was is that the shift buzzer was hooked up to all the other warnings too, so if your coolant was kinda low that shit would go off and not stop buzzing. i pulled mine out, because my sensor on my radiator went bad and i couldn't find a new one.

My FD doesn't have it but I actually wish it did, on a few 1/4 mile runs I missed my gearchanges in the lower gears and I dont have a shift light or monster tach fitted yet.

Fair point on the shift buzzer, but I the rev limiter is there for a reason. I didn't know the FB and FC's were devoid of one, if anything I find that weird!

i know its there for a reason...i just figured as with the older rx7's were mazda assumed that they would be driven by smart drivers it wouldnt be neccesary because the driver would be smart enough not to over rev the car....for example..honda puts it on there civics because they know the drivers are that dumb..and they are...because they bounce it off the limiter all the time(i live by newark nj) i mean everyone knows doing that is JDM tyte.....yo

why would people need a shift light? and its not really a shift buzzer its a joke among FB/FC owners because from the factory when you hit redline a buzzing noise sounds to let you know that your in redline...and we all shift at redline so......1+1=2
