SD is accepted as one of the SRW trademarks. to change it would just turn it into another gundam-esque game thus leading to the loss of its original uniqueness.
I disagree..Final Fantasy was always SD and then went to full sized characterizations in VII....SD is awful to portray up to 48 meter tall super robots, it's a cheap alternative to make drawing/animation easier, and shows laziness on the part of the developers...I think if it wasn't SD the series would be more critically acclaimed and popular then it is already...Cause everyone doesn't want their mechs to looks like stunted dwarves..
Additionally Super Robot Wars/Taisen is known for it's mecha, music, setting, and storyline, more then anything else....not it's poorly associated SD style..
well it is true that a REAL SRW game will never come here. but SRW OG has.
the main reason why SRW will never here is mainly due to copyright purposes. US has a lot of ridiculous copyright laws, and because most of the mechs in the SRW games haventb een released in America yet, they wont bring it over. OG as you know has its own original story and character and mech roster. dont expect anymore than jsut the OG series in America
Man I am playing through SRW OG 2, and after seeing all the characters I am loving in the Advance version with super upgraded animations, I pray to Atlus to translate this as well to SOME console in the US. I will be immeasurably happy
Depending on the market of the GBA OG1 and 2,this game will maybe be brought to the US and translated with english voiceover, and that depends on the cartoon being shown thats called divine wars if it will ever be dubbed.Keep our fingers crossed. SRW Rocks..woohoo!!
I just got the first GBA game, and I can say this is aweosme! This could possibly be one of the best ideas ever created. It looks like they made every character as awesome as possible!
Yeah.... it has a very good chance of coming out here after OG2... especailly if the two GBA games do well... do remember Altus started trends... even if Altus doesn't do it.. Banpreso might do so themselves. Interesting how it has the battle dialouge window for once!
To reply to Alexthe1, the Original Generation of SRW's Mechas were based on the Mechas of Bandai, of course the reason why OG is released in the US is because it dodges all the mecha licenses thus not getting into any legal issues on who owns Gundam or Mazinger or Macross because in the US Mazinger is not owned by Bandai unfortunately and Macross is not signed to Banpresto
well maybe their based on the original super 'bots without the guests kinda like the ones who started the super robots series before the "guests" came...

Man it looks pretty cool. now if they just steer away from the SD characterizations, then it'd be even better..

apollo2345 5 years ago
Aside from Cybaster and Granzon, I think all the robot designs were, more or less, based off of existing robot series.

the answer is (katoki Hajime) designer of a lot of character mech from Gundam and SRW
