i recently tried the kccc...i love it...i havent had any problems with it...i did find out before using it that it does not mix well with products from other lines. and definitely no oils...sorry you had such a bad experience with it...i have used it for a few weeks and no gunk problems at all...no i have no stock in the company...lol...just a regular natural girl like you...lol. i also learned that if used while hair is very wet it dries well and no gunk. try using a very lil for twist out.
Hey ladies the first time I tried it I got residue too. I think the trick is to use it ALONE. DO NOT APPLY ANY KIND OF MOISTURIZER or OILS TO YOUR HAIR.
I was considering buying the KCCC. It's a little too expensive, imo. So I wanna make sure it will work on my hair. What texture is your hair (if u don't mind me asking)? Meaning, is your hair really fine, medium or coarse? Would you say your hair EXTREMELY rough to the touch, or just somewhat?... Seem like crazy questions, I know lol. But I'm really just trying to understand why some products works for some and not others.
i know this video was posted i while ago but for anyone else who use’s KCCC you should do a apple cider vinegar rinse to clean all the KCCC out because if it’s still in your hair you will get white bits because Kinky curly doesn’t mi with other products with oils, sulphates & silicones. so just remember to really clean all the product out your hair with a apple cider vinegar rinse, because that what i did & it worked.
The kccc says it works best with the leave-in but it also says that it's meant to work alone. So you can use it alone or with the leave-in. If the maker of kccc wanted people to use the leave-in then it shouldn't say that it's meant to work alone it should be either or. So if she didn't want to use the damn leave-in she didn't have to.
im glad i watched this before i spent 22.00 on a small container of gel. i'll just stick to eco styler and call it a day. i think KCCC is really geared to those with looser curl patterns, whether the creators want to admit it or not. very rarely have i seen those with kinky hair or 4a/b (such as myself) get the desired results.
You probably won't use kinky curly again, which is your prerogative, but are you sure that your hair had no oils in it? The owner says that it's very important that oils and other residue are all washed out, meaning that they shouldn't be ingredients in your shampoo or conditioner either... Taren916 did a review of it that said that it worked well with TressemeNaturals conditioner. Maybe try that? It's a finicky product, so I use the whole line, but there are other options.
Hey girl. I follow on twitter @zellyboo. I should have listened to you. I ordered this and the knot today and my hair was hair was so sticky I didn't use a lot all and I swear I've gotten better results using JAM and Fantasia Ice. People fail to realize just because a product works on their hair doesn't mean it's going to work on EVERYONE'S. I mean some people swear to this stuff. My hair is INSANELY dry and the KCCC just added to it. I may give it another try but not soon that's for sure.

Girl, you need to grow up....seriously. Someone telling you that the reason the product didn't work for you is because you didn't follow instructions doesnt mean they "got a stake in da compny!!11". There is no conspiracy. No one's "suckering" you. Nobody's "getting uh check". You didn't read...period. I have already posted directly from the website where Shelley explains that the products work best together. You're just illiterate and childish.
I love KCCC...I honestly think that people tend to apply the KCCC in the wrong way. I never get white gunk or anything. A fellow natural youtuber has a great video on how to apply the KCCC in a way that will get you fantastic results 99% of the time....CoilsKinksCurls Check her KCCC vids out. Good luck!
I purchased both the KCCC and the leave in conditioner and found the conditioner to work better than the custard. The custard does get sticky but I did not get that residue you got. Try the conditioner...it's a great curl definer.
A lot of the times these specialty products are made to only be used together. When you mix and match products you often times get bad results. I know it is expensive but try this: KCCC leave in with a gel of your pick. I'm trying it today ;)
I also get a sticky feeling when I use it as well.
The white"gunk" as you put it, I could only think that it was the result of combining your clear gel with the KCCC. The combination of ingredients (even with the gel being clear) could still produce this type of effect...just think chemistry lab
see! I am glad that someone has shared the same experience b/c ppl assume that since I didn't get positive results that i must not be using it right. the product just doesn't work for me
@innovativethinkin I tried it too and it didn't work for me. I still have it and plan to try it again, but no time soon. It is sitting in my room. Shea Butter is working 4 me so I'm sticking 2 it:)
yea.. kccc Sucks i agree im just gonna use the one i have since it was $35... yea i get the white resido (SP) tooo and it sucks even when i re-wet it it looks like gel...
You obviously didn't use the product correctly. If you follow directions...and use all the KC products and not add any other products you will get good results.
Like I said before, the product is garbage and it suckers ppl into buy all the products. I shouldn't have to use their expensive ass leave in to get good results. The damn custard was expensive by itself. I don't see any other company that makes curly puddings linking their products so that customers will pay more to get the best results. And what are you anyways, a KC spokesperson?!
I hope you find something that works best for you, but just because a product doesn't work for you doesn't make it garbage. It says all over the site to use with the KT..it's everywhere. If you decided to buy the product without the other (so it would actually work) than that was your fault...not the company's. You just didn't follow directions. No one "suckered you",,,you bought the product without the other. Every company creates their products to work in synergy ...it's not just Kinky Curly.
**TIP- This product is designed to work alone but ultimate curl definition and length can be achieved when used with KNOT TODAY TM as a leave in conditioner.
I copied the above from the website. Its suppose to work fine on it's own. so basically your comment lost its credibility
No, you're just proving yourself to be an illiterate. They're saying that ultimate (as in best/desirable results) are achieved when you use the KT under the product. They even state that their products work best together on her youtube vid. You've only further proved my point.
Several people have already broken this down for you. You. Didn't. Use. It. Correctly.
no you are proving yourself to be illiterate. if a product is designed (key word) to work alone (another key word) then I have that OPTION not to use it w/ any other product. duh. it says better definition and length can be achieved w/ the knot today. I had no prob w/ those two things. I have a prob w/ the residue and the way it made my hair feel. nothing to do w/ the KT. so kick rocks
"We recommend using COME CLEAN + KNOT TODAY + CURLING CUSTARD since they are designed to work together as a system especially on your first use. An ingredient in your "tried and true" shampoo or "old faithful" conditioner may not mix well with the Curling Custard and it can cause you to get less than stellar results. We understand customers like to mix and match products from different brands but you should use Kinky-Curly products together ..."
look kccc sucks imo and most of the ppl that commented on this video didn't have good results either. plus i can show you videos where women used it w/ KCs other crap products and still didn't get good results. if it works for you, fine, but for me and many others it didn't. no need to get nasty. its my opinion. obviously you have some stake w/n the company so go collect your check and get off my channel. If youre looking for a battle you've come to the wrong channel honey.
Hey ive been checking out your tutorials and they are very helpful. Im transitioning and Im learning how to deal with my natural hair. You give great tips. I just need to know what type of store would I go to to find the products to make my own whipped shea butter? Thx!
You can go to most heatlth food stores to find the oils (i.e. trader joe's, Whole foods) But there are always little stores tucked away, you just have to find them. The shea butter, I would recommend getting if off the internet unless you know a few African shops in your area. You'd def find them there. Make sure its unrefined shea butter though. This usually has a beige to yellow color. The pure white shea is refined
Oh gosh! I'm sorry that this turned out so unfortunate. Thanks for sharing though and please don't use that thing again because you look too upset LOL
seems like you need a cleansing shampoo or doing an acid rinse to get rid of it. I felt like that with Miss Jessie's (as far as leaving an odor and "hardening" residue) over time. I had Miss Jessie's for almost three years (still have a little left), but now I'm locing. I will use it eventually. I had to learn to use very little when using it in my hair.
I don't have enuff hair for that yet but cute style! lol It's funny about the KCCC bcuz that is about the only thing that I've found so far that gives me some curl defininition and helps with my shrinkage... this just goes to show again that what may work for one person, won't work for everyone... everyone's hair is different and that's just another thing that makes each of us special :)
yeah I had my hair wet, and I did not use too much, I barely put a dent in the container. And that's how they sucker you! Make you by the other product to get the best result. I will be damned! lol 30 dollars plus shipping was too much in the first place. Kccc goes on my list of product fails.
ROTFLMBO @ semen! I was thinking it, but you said it! Your hair is always cute though...minus the semen! I can't believe I just used that word twice! ;-)
OMG!! Thats why I didn't use it !! I tried to do some gel twists on my sister's hair and i tried to clean my comb with some shampoo and the KCCC would not come out the comb!! I was like "OH NO, if its not coming out the comb, it definitely wont come out my hair" !! .....TRASH it !!!
Your curls are popin love it. I am actually doing the two strand twist in my hair now with no parts, well i am parting with my fingers lol. I will post a video when i get out of class tonight.
