  • Not only are these lessons very helpful and easy for beginners, but they crack me up. When he does the brown eyed g chord and g'ing and a d'ing I crack up. You rock Justin!!

  • You should do another video and teach the intro

  • @LuckySchmuckers watch the whole video...its down round the 10:00 mark.

  • hi justin great teacher. can you lean me a song called i love a rainy night by eddie rabbit.thanks

  • I could do with a cutaway for the intro as its hard work with a dreadnought :(

  • In the misty C chord fog............that song is better than the original.

As a beginner it helps A LOT when i hear the song being sung , rather than just teaching the chords and the strumming pattern. cheers Justin

  • you and marty aare very good teachers

  • What's the strumming pattern of the fancy strumming?

  • @fixedgearryan D-DU-UDU (16th rythm)

  • How did you do the intro?

    00:00 - 00:19>?

  • Yeah! The joker would be amazing! Anything my Steve miller!

  • Justin is a super cool dude and teacher...hey Justin where did your Aussie accent go?...disappears when you sing...great singing voice btw!

  • I love your voice

  • just a curious question Justin, how did you start playing guitar? who inspired you?

  • What guitar is that? A Taylor?

  • Thanks Justin ! I never knew about this song .. Uploaded my cover of it .. thanks to you ! Cheers !

  • Please teach "The Joker" by "Steve Miller Band" :)

  • Trying to work out the little lick just after the G chord in the chorus. It sounds easy but I'm a terrible transcriber :( I've got the notes for it but I'd need to play them with the G chord for it to sound good and I can't figure out a fingering to make it work.

  • Does anyone else think he looks like James Blunt? :P

  • i hope my neighbors like this song

  • @googoplexable THE BEST COMMENT EVER!!!!

I legitametely laughed my ass off XD

  • @googoplexable Hahaha! Love it! Hope mine do aswell. They're gonna be hearing alot of it cos my daughter has brown eyes.

  • You sing this one really well Justin, oh yes, and play it!

  • You REALLY should put a link to this video on Stage 3 song page!!!

  • you are Amaaziiiiiiiiing !! thanks a loottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Justin your a champ! Keep it up love your videos.

  • Oh sweet... love it hun keep it up!

  • Justin, you are the man! Another totally awesome lesson. Thanks.

  • Best teacher here! Justin is good.

  • Back to basics for me, even tho i rarely played acoustic these days , i'd love to learn that one, sounds awesome. By the way, great singing :> keep'em coming!

  • the part where you go c-d-g-em, I find it a nice touch to play the simple three-fingered G (1,2,3 finger), and go like this on the thinnest E: 3-3-5-3-2 (pinky on 5th fret, the rest is self explanatory). Strumming for that G would be D-D-U-D-U and then you go Em to get that open thin e-string. sounds very nice imo!

  • @liestol ah s**t I just worked that out and then I see you already wrote it. I did it a bit differently though so you play the whole chord like it's a Gsus chord (I don't know if it is, I don't know Gsus chords) except for the 3-2 part where I just slide. Also I added the little open 3rd and 5th on the 2nd string to finish the little phrase.

  • @liestol wait I found an easier way to do the second part, do the firat part on the G, then strum the first Em, another one with your 3rd or 4th finger added at the 3rd fret D second string, then hit the open 1st string.

  • your cute(:

  • good teaching :-)))

  • Fantastic, thank you so much for posting! That thing you do when you sing the song and change the words to which chords you're playing is a real skill :)

Also it looks a bit like your T-shirt is trying to eat your guitar while you're not looking.

  • Amazing lesson, as usual. But hey, your version sounds really nice and is very pleasant to hear :-)

  • Great stuff man, thanks!! Keep up the phenomenal work

  • Justin beautiful guitar what make is it?

  • thank you steve for picking this song :)

  • cute song, justin!!! very cute!

  • Sometimes I watch the video just to hear Justin perform at the beginnning ;)

  • hey where did C go? after the D came... HA

  • Hi Justin , you are fantastic . May I just ask you to show us how to play bang bang from kill bell thanks and keep singing I like when you sing !

  • On my acoustic guitar, it seems as though the strings separate further from the fretboard towards the bridge, making it much harder to play than on my electric guitar. As a beginner, do you think I should get a different acoustic guitar? Or is that just how acoustic guitars are made?

  • @unholyrelish there can be a problem with your guitar if the strings sit too high above the fretboard, and that's something you would need to take to a guitar tech to have straightened out, especially if you're a beginner. However, I would have somebody more experienced look at the guitar and get their opinion because acoustic can be significantly more difficult to play as a beginner and without seeing the guitar myself it's impossible to know:)

  • @unholyrelish This height is called 'the action', and it is usual for it to be a little lower on an electric. It may be though that your truss rod - a metal bar inside the neck - needs to be adjusted, to bend the neck back a little, thus lowering the action. It is possible to DIY, but I'd recommend having a luthier look at it, and possibly set it up for you.

  • @Jerwold thanks so much, im toying with the truss rod right now, its really helping, and im being very careul, mind you!

  • Justin, Im curious. Have you always did singing, or haveyou started because of your album?

You sing really good and its cool to be able play andsing at the same time. Peace :)

  • @ZeliZeleny ~ just my opinion, but I have 4 guitars and each it a little different. Find whatever is comfortable for you and it may make it easier to learn at first, then expand if you want...

  • Hello, I´m from Germany and I like your Lessen. Thanks

  • Thank you so much!

  • I still see myself as a beginner.. but Justin, another great tutorial! Im working on your arpeggios + blues lead guitar vids now.. youre just the best!

  • What you need my friend, is some good old fashioned weed. It'll loosen those stiff cracks right out.

  • Man I wish my guitar had a cutout :L That intro riff is nigh on impossible without one.

  • @toadpenguin Try to find those notes on B and G strings! Or maybe G and D. It will be a little different, but still cool! :)

  • @toadpenguin You should be able to do it still, it's just a lot more awkward.

  • You're freakin awesome Justin! Keep doing what you're doing.

  • Love it!

  • Cracking song and lesson!

  • Next

  • my grandpa trevor died two years ago last week. he was a bassist in highschool for a band called the sunshine band, a band van morrison sang in back in highschool. he left the band that shortly after went on to become known as "Van Morrison and Them" to settle down and get a job. but Van Morrison was always one of his favorites. He always kicked himself in the ass for not staying with that band. This song has always ment alot to my family i really apreciat the lesson Justin.
