  • University John Hopkins supervises a strict ketogenic diet for kids with epilepsy-it works and they do not suffer other health problems.(very few may get kidney stones, and a supplement is given to prevent that) If this can be medically OK for kids who are growing it helps to understand that it is benign for the majority of adults as well Knowledge is the key, not guess work or following old school guidelines just to keep one's job

  • whats with all the dislikes? great vid, good bye bread..

  • So, like, when you have a carb after your workout, do you need to still be active or can you relax?

  • great video! cheers!

  • Hi hi! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my work buddy lost a ton of weight with it.

  • Oh hello have you heard about the Acuspeed 24 Diet (do a google search)? I keep hearing some unbelivable chatter about it and my work buddy burned lots of fat on it.

  • Hello there! Have you ever tried cleverous 402 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cooworker lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • Hey there! Have you thought about cleverous 402 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my sister lost tons of weight with it.

  • Can you tell me where the scientific proof that you need carbs for your brain and spinal cord to function well?

  • I'm not going to say she's right or wrong. just that I'm on a LOW carb HIGH protein diet which includes exercise. From the other comments I've read I understand what others are talking about but with my diet (similar to the type she yaks about) I need to weight train. Weight training works your muscles so that your body will repair them (build) instead of eating away at them. Thus making your body eat from the fat reserves you've built. So what you have to do is cut out the majority of your cha

  • Fot the first 3 days on low carb, my energy was down. I read that it was temporary, so I waited it out. The other night, in an almost empty parking lot, I ran with my grogery cart to the car, just for the fun of it. My biggest problem now is finding things to burn off my extra energy. I am in my 50's and have energy to spare.

  • All the info she gave correct. She is saying you can't go crazy on the carbs- eliminate breads and pasta, but fruits and veggies are good. Basically the maintenance phase of atkins. She never said this would make you lose weight, just not gain.

And if you are an athlete, you do need carbs for more energy without loosing weight.

  • Wow! Misinformation at its best... Ever heard of gluconeogenesis and ketosis?

  • Maybe you should go back to school! Where do you get all the information from? It is simply not true, that we need carbs. Carbs are NOT essential for the human body to function properly. Thank You Jeffreagan2001!

  • @9StaroftheSouth9 Give me one human race that never lived without any carbohydrates. Are you refering to the eskimoes who are often plaqued by osteoporosis because of a high protein diet ?Carbs are not essential?Apples, plums have pectin that fight heart disease, watermelon has lecithin fight prostate cancer. Natural sugars from fruits are released slowly giving energy to muscle, heart, brain, kidney. Beta carotene a powerful anti oxidant along with Vitamis C,E,A all found in many carbs, fibre.

  • You are soooooooooooo pretty!

  • You should take a basic course in biochemistry and endocrinology before making videos. There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. Your liver can make carbohydrate from protein. Ketogenic diets (as well as low carbohydrate diets) have been shown to reverese type 2 diabetes. Learn some science before your rambling.

  • @jeffreagan2001 i strongly agree.

  • @jeffreagan2001 They reverse it only because of the immediate weight loss which is mostly water & then muscle. The body needs quality carbs for energy not the shitty small amount of carb from ketogenics. That^s why after a while, energy is lost, the brain slows down & your body starts feeding on muscle to convert to carb .As your body cannabilizes itself & you lose muscle, metabolism slows because muscle helps burn more calories. Atkins never published in 40 yrs long term effect of this diet(Why???)

  • @jeffreagan2001 Your body^s prime source of energy is carbohydrate. In a ketogenic diet since there are no carbs(we all know that many carbs provide anti-cancer & anti heart disease properties) the body has to turn to protein & in the process eats away at muscle. With little or no muscle the metabolism slows down. With little or no fibre(that fruits & vegetables offer & help absorb cholesterol & clean your bowels) your risk for chronic illness increases.

  • @jeffreagan2001 essential carbs in sporting are complex carbohydrates. maybe you should go back to school

  • Comment removed

  • When you cut down on carbs your body utilizes fatty acids for energy. You only need enough carbs for gluconogenesis, which is about 30-80 carbs a day tops.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001

Depends on your lifestyle and the quality of carbs as well. for example if you are looking to pack on muscle mass and burn fat, you should consume more complex carbs with high protein as the carb-protein chemical reaction is crucial for muscle gain. However a good cardiovascular routine to utilize the extra carbs would be needed.
